How lovely market is it! There are lots of vendors and creators here! They sell some craft by handmade, decorations or special food. It’s worth to have a walk and enjoy the architecture along the street! I love it so much and definitely recommend! Even I visited there in a rainy day but still like its unique!

What a fabulous Market! The Salamanca Market is huge and took us 3 hours to look through and that was without doing many tastings. Most stalls offer tastings of food and drink produce and stalls with other products have samples to try before purchasing which is fantastic. I was blown away by the amount of artisan stalls with gins, whiskeys and vodka’s they all had unique stories about their products it was so interesting. There wasn’t repeated stalls which was great, so many unique little shops with lots of treasures.
Salamanca Market also has every cuisine available so if you’re hungry when you leave it’s certainly not from choice as there is plenty. I highly recommend visiting this market it’s one of the best I’ve ever been to.

Absolutely incredible!! One of the best markets I've been to. Set between the historical buildings of Hobart and the scenic wharves. Well worth a visit.

Glad to have visited Salamanca Market. It is a highlight of my Tasmania trip. Great food and souvenirs to purchase. Love the fresh oysters and barbecued scallop skewer.

Must visit for tourists, got all the local stuff and food. But might be difficult to fill your tummy as most are street food. Had the best oysters in Tasmania though!

Salamanca Market is only on Saturday, Market was full fun, food trucks, tassi made special stuff. Tasi truffles was highlights.
I tried truffle ice cream for the first time and it didn’t disappoint at all.
Live paella, it was a treat to watch the chef making it☺

The best market ever, and I have been to a few. So much variety of products and excellent quality. Lovely stall holders and so much to see and eat. Definitely recommend the truffle sandwich and the scallops skewers. The sandwich is the best $30 you will spend in your life and the skewer is so good that you will have to stop yourself from having more. Put aside at least three hours for this market.

Huge range of stalls and the biggest outdoor market in Oz I was told - held every Saturday. Great range of foods to try (hot and cold), some very high quality home made produce and well worth a visit to experience it.
Big crowds but everyone seemed happy to dawdle, make way and to be polite (must be a Tassie thing - and the ambience of the markets).
Short distance from the Hobart CBD, right on the waterfront and neatly laid out.
Absolutely loved it and will return as it's a great experience. Hop on Hop off bus stops in the area so another bonus!

Walking through was like an open-air market. We only had the hour to spare as the airport was next stop.. the stalls were exceptional loads of locally crafted. Food stalls and areas to sit to eat like the surrounding grassed areas with salamanca bean bags..comfy
My favourite vendor here is pictured.
The millinery.
Spectacular.

Always a great experience but dont forget to look through the many shops in nearby buildings. That is where you will find true Tassie and artists creations.

Wonderful weekend market with loads of stuff from craft to food. Highly recommended. Although it was raining, it still had quite a crowd.

Didn't disappoint. It was huge and something for everyone. We parked at the regatta and walked in but get there early as it was shoulder to shoulder when we left. Follow us Sweet-Az-RV'n on YouTube 🤠🤙

Must-do quintessential Hobart experience. Only open on a Saturday, Salamanca is a Hobart institution and rates easily with the best market experiences in Australia. (Others I would rate in this echelon are Eumundi in Queensland, Queen Vic and South Melbourne and of course Adelaide Central Markets.) Salamanca gets extremely crowded and a little overwhelming especially when there is a cruise ship docked (which would be most Saturdays during in summer) so an early visit is recommended. For a quintessential Hobart day, take the nearby Brook St ferry up to MONA once you are done around the markets ($66 per adult for one-way ferry ticket/museum entry) or consider a return ferry ticket and enjoy a seafood dinner or pub night around Constution Dock on the way back to finish the day.

Great coffee at Ivy Lane and amazing donuts at the Herbert donut shop at the top of the markets. (Had a lemon and chocolate norgat one)
Market is a must for tourists. Some pretty live music and friendly bunch.
I spent 15 minutes at the puzzle stand
