Very friendly customer service good well layed out shop.
High quality products. Higher prices than its main competitor Spar though.
Good location near Praterstern station. Good connection to rest of Austria as well as International Airport Vienna.

Had everything we needed and had a decent wine section. Purchased a bottle of local wine and decided to return and get another! Clean and bright.

Great place to go to if you need groceries any time of the week. The best thing is that they're opened everyday and longer than most other stores in Vienna, but this means that it can sometimes get quite crowdy

UPDATE: After hours, the pandemic might generate long lines outside the market, as staff does make an effort to keep customer counts down (so do check Google Maps when it might be less busy). Prepandemic midnight shopping used to be a shoulder-to-shoulder filled market, but that wouldn't do these days (see also image).

REVIEW: This shop is one of the few supermarkets open 7 days a week, 6:00 to 22:00, a few others may be found at the airport and some of the railway stations.

Located at one of the major
subway / light and regional rail hubs, it's a largish store with pretty much everything one would expect, has both standard and self-service check-out, but if visited late nights and especially weekends, get ready for a 5 to 15 wait (and don't assume all customers in line will be either sober or overdressed :-).

Good variety of choice for fresh food (in case you need a quick lunch). I like their self service cashiers - usually it gets faster to pay if you have only a couple of items. It might get extremely crowded especially on Sunday (as it's the only decent grocery store open in the area on Sunday).

Good place to stock up on food odds and ends

Billa Prater is open everyday even on the very holidays and you can find almost every product of a supermarket here. It is not where I would usually go shopping but it is big and helpful on holidays.

This is a chain supermarket that has amazing quality fruit and veges and food items from ice cream to bread and cakes and chocolate. The place is clean and organized and you always bring your own bag or $0.25 Euros for a paper bag. They sell fruit and veges when they are ripe so you can eat it as soon as you get home. For the items I bought here, I would have paid 35-50% more at Whole Foods in the USA. I would love to live in Austria to enjoy this grocery. They are open 0600-2200 all week 7 days a week which is amazing as much of Vienna closes Sundays. Plus it is conveniently located inside the train station to and from other towns and Vienna Airport (Flughafen Wien).

Avoid on Sunday evening or be prepared for a huge line for the checkout. Looks like it's one of the few if not the only supermarket open on Sunday. Unfortunately I have read the comments here late 😃.
Otherwise, convenient that it has extended opening hours.
Staff is friendly and helpful.

Great supermarket with good bakery and pastries

A large supermarket with a diverse selection of good products. Many self-service checkouts. On a weekend it is packed with people as it is the only one open in the area.

Plenty options for vegans. I found prepared food and snacks vegan friendly. Good price in wines as well.
The staff is nice and willing to help.

Big market, and it is working till 22:00. You can find almost everything that you need. It is always a little bit crowded.

One of the few shops opened on Sundays.

The prices are convenient, the variety of products is good.

Recommend the Rudolf Ölz bakery and Jomo bakery for their super and delicious Guglhupf and other bakery products.

Open every day, even on Sundays and holidays. Best option to get your groceries :) this one tends to have special premium stuff more often than other Billa stores 🥳

Running a supermarket in one of the busiest locations of Vienna may not be the easiest task. Still, you will find an excellent choice of products and friendly staff. The fruits and vegetables section deserves an extra mention for the freshness and presentation.
