We found the restaurant by accident, without a reservation, but we were welcomed, they seated us immediately at a big table and we had a wonderful evening with an excellent dinner.

Came for the 12-hr slow roast pork knuckle and was highly impressed with the taste, flavor and reasonable price. A serving for one was so large, we had to take some away. Steak tartare while good lack some flavor . Maybe I am used to the one in Italy. The service was efficient. We had reservation for 7pm on a Wed and was seated immediately. When we left, it was packed! The cellar-cave- like ambience adds a bit to the experience. Highly recommended.

This restaurant has a quite unique atmosphere with its diminished light ambiance. We had a very tasty and tender roasted pork knuckle. A very traditional place . It is a must in Vienna.

You go down two flights of stairs into a underground tavern. Pretty cool atmosphere and set up.

I was there for my birthday celebration treat with my friends. Initially, I thought that would be one of the tourists' spots in Vienna because it is near Schottentor. But after having one bite of their specialty pork knuckle, it is super DELICIOUS. Also, the other dishes, like schnizel and sausage, taste good. And the price range is okay to me. The waiter there is so attentive and caring to a kid of my friend. So I would say my experience here was beyond my expectations, especially on my birthday.

First night in Vienna, my husband and I found this restaurant. It was a busy Saturday night and they still managed to give us a table. Very good Austrian food, friendly waiters and hostess. The restaurant used to be a wine cellar and it still has the look, which makes it even nicer. Overall a great experience.

A great underground restaurant, the atmosphere was super cosy. We shared the pork knuckle and dumpling, sausage with mashed potato and the goulash between 3. All were really tasty but the richness of the sauce and tender meat in the goulash won it for me. We arrived for early dinner and there was no wait. Would recommend for anyone looking for a bit more variety in Vienna.

This restaurant is situated in a very beautiful part of Vienna, not so far from Hofburg. The service was very polite, delicate, with explanation and translation of menu positions. All of us were satisfied with the taste of ordered dishes. The atmosphere in a restaurant regarded the middle age castle, there were candles on the tables. I would like to back to this place one day again.

Great basement interior was unexpected and enjoyable. Easy to talk during dinner without too much noise with the brick ceiling arches. Wiener schnitzel was very good and large portion. Friendly hostesses.

Best austrian restaurant ive ever been to- their deer sausage is a must try, so is their strudel- I N S A N E. Staff is also suuuuuper sweet and helpful!!

I really liked the food, the drinks and the staff. The only thing I would change is put some more life into the restaurant, maybe traditional music? Other than that I am satisfied.

The pork knuckle was heavenly. I should have ordered the entire knuckle (serves 3) as the individual serving wasn't quite large enough. The crackle with the gravy was delicious. Service was a bit grumpy, but it sort of fit the situation. Cellar was great, wine was super. Overall and excellent spot.

The best Pork Knuckle ever. The skin is roasted to perfection…crackling when you cut it up! Dark beer is a must have!

What a great experience from start to finish. Easy online booking, beautiful place/decor in a former wine cellar, efficient and friendly service, and amazing food. We had the deer sausage and the pork knuckle and they were to die for.

Absolutely a must to visit in Vienna. The atmosphere, the food and service is of the best in the downtown. The deer sausage, the pork meat , the warm cabbage and the desserts were one of the bestiest we’ve ever tried. Also thanks for the great advices from the waiter. Hepled us a lot. We were on table 113 on 16.03 evenening.

Found this little gem by sheer fluke, and so glad we waited for a table. Our host was amazing, superb service and the food was wholesome and delicious. Despite being under-staffed there was hardly any wait, and we were attended to with such friendliness, we will definitely be back.

The atmosphere is perfect. The pork knuckle is the best I’ve ever had. It truly is a fantastic dining experience. I always go when traveling to Vienna.
