Cafe Tirolerhof

Cute spot!! It’s off the tourist path a bit, so it felt like more of a locals vibe. Food was great and service was great. Loved the Viennese cafe culture of just relaxing for hours.

I had an incredible dining experience at Cafe Tirolerhof!
The food was amazing and came in generous portions, including the delightful desserts. Despite the crowded atmosphere, the place remained clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The waiting time for food was reasonable, and the dishes arrived promptly.
We shared the original Wiener Schnitzel, and it was more than enough for two.
Leaving room for dessert is a must, especially for the Germknödel – a traditional Tirol dessert that tasted just as authentic in the heart of Vienna. It’s a must try !!
The other dessert -cremestrudel with vanilla sauce-was equally delightful.

If you're in Vienna, I highly recommend trying Cafe Tirolerhof, and don't miss out the Germknödel.
You won't regret it! Trust me! 😉

A hidden gem. The food and service are awesome. Their potato salad is delicious!

We read reviews on facebook offering to skip the long queues at more touristic places like cafe Mozart or Sacher cafe and go to Tirolenhof, which is more like a place for locals. That was exactly what we needed. We came here at around 5:30 pm, waited not more than 3 minutes inside of the cafe and were welcomed and seated by a very eccentric waiter :) We were served very quickly in a very original manner :) The waiter was singing and almost dancing while welcoming other customers :) We enjoyed that show very much :) I read some reviews , saying that the waiters are rude, but didn't notice anything like that. Maybe they are not prim and official as at other cafes. It's more like a friendly, relaxing, household manner which may not be accepted or liked by people who have no sense of humor :)
I liked the sachertorte very much, great coffee and the whole atmosphere was adorable :)

This place is lovely - chandeliers and great service. Went for an early dinner and something simple and truly Viennese - did not disappoint.

I went to Tirolerhof on a Saturday brunch time. You would expect a Viennese cafe in such a prime location and such a peak time to be full of people, mostly tourists. Nope, for whatever reason, while tourists are queuing up down the street to get into other cafes, they steer clear of this charming place and it’s all the better for it. At Cafe Tirolerhof, you can experience Viennese cafe culture like a local - you can leisurely enjoy some straightforward Austrian breakfast with nobody rushing you. It appears that locals sit there for hours reading the papers and drinking coffee! The atmosphere is calm, quiet and relaxed.

I see some reviews here mentioning rude staff. I cannot disagree more. Our waiter was helpful and friendly and he was patient with me as I tried communicating in German.

I would definitely visit again!

Old style Vienna cafe/bistro. Coffee, local and Tirolese fare and cakes (generous portions!). Really tasty and reasonably priced. Quick and friendly service. Excellent surroundings (Albertina museum). We liked it!

We had this morning a splendid coffe and cakes , apple strudel and schachen cake all were wonderful. In particular it was a pleasure meeting Alexander as our waiter. Excellent service as well as an intelligent conversation. Can't wait for our next visit

Wonderful place to sit back and enjoy a long lazy lunch with family and friends. Classic Viennese dishes along with a wide selection of coffees and desserts. Reservations not needed, just show up and they will sit you.

It was proposed by two locals. Prices are fair, service is perfect. Just in town centre with excellent prices and tastes. Ordered snitzel and Gulash soup with bottled beer. Thank you Wien

Recommended place and fast service. Food is great and what's more important you don't need reservation to get a table which most of other nearby restaurants require.

Recommended Cafe. Don't expect to be served right away. Come in, sit down and relax. The waiters will show up, just don't be in a rush. Ordered a Viennese Coffee and one of the city specialties, raisin plum pancake. Delicious and would highly recommend ordering it. Waiter seemed grumpy at first but was fast, effective and with a tip, donned a smile and offered me an extra large glass of water. Will be coming back.

Wonderful café without any disturbing background music but with everything else one expects to find, in a well run traditional Viennese café. Not just 5 stars also a " high five ".

Delightful coffee house....quiet and not as expensive as surrounding places. Great service and interesting coffee choices. It seemed to have an extensive breakfast menu. My husband got a frankfurter for lunch. I had a yeast duming with stewed plums and vanilla sauce topped with poppyseeds.

This was definitely the best of all Vienna cafees we tried during our 5 day stay in this beautiful city. Good location in the old centre, very nice and "alt-klassiker" interierour, extreemly friendly and helpful waiters (naturally, one can't pretend or play it), as well as excellent food and "durchgehende Küche" with a diverse menu and different local specialities. We found it accidentially, not following any tourguides or fiakers' advices. We came here several times and highly suggest also to others!

Great desserts. Fast and friendly service. May be crowded accepts reservations.
