I know this might sound like such a cliché, but ...I absolutely love this place! This is not like all those fancy-schmancy-touristy museums in Vienna but a real hidden gem! This place tells stories, you feel it when you enter through the round arched doors, there is a small shop to the left and if you continue there is an absolutely beautiful little Bistro/Restaurant further on! Check on their website before you visit - just to make sure what's on permanent display and for info on their temporary exhibition. If you are around in October, check out the annual "Repair Festival" !

Lovely museum detailing the history of the lives of every day Austrians. There is lots to see, but the description could do with being a bit more detailed and clear.

The Austrian Museum for Folk Art inside this charming Palais. A lot objects of the daily life in former times. In the first floor the Exhibitions are changing.

Nice garden with a Connection to Schönborn Park 🌿🌺

This a a fascinating place! A museum but more: It’s a journey through time and space of the experience of becoming Austrian. It’s a sensitive view of what it means to land here, of all places, including the exploration of stereotypes associated with new citizenry.

Not crowded, not tiring as it is quite small, lovely garden+cafe, free entrance for kids, walking distance from Rathaus

Visited during the "night of the museums". Some exhibition parts are very modern and seem a bit out of place but still have the research to back them up.
There is very nice furniture from the western part of Austria in the rooms.

You can find amazing things here if you like folk stuff. There was also, idk if it's permanent or not, an anthropological study and exposition about Muslims and Islam in relation with hate speeches and the growth of alt-right

Tickets are very cheap and the museum is unique in Vienna. This is a folk art museum in a city where we use to see very much classic art.

Great little museum that exhibits the lives of ordinary people across the former monarchy. Also sports a nice garden cafe.

Very nice museum, in a 19th century town-palace, with inner courtyards and old trees.
