This is a must in Vienna. The food is really delicious with high quality. The schnitzel was enormous and enough for two people. The potato salad was absolutely delicious, very well seasoned. The restaurant is very busy, it is advisable to reserve a table. There was a queue when we visited, but it was quick, we didn't have to wait a lot. The staff were very friendly and polite.
Highly recommended, it's definitely a must.

No trip to Vienna without a visit here!
It is amazing, authentic and huge!
I can’t really say what is better: the schnitzel or the potato salad..I definetly recommend both, as the saying goes: “match made in Heaven”
You can book a table in advance in order not to wait in line 😉

Figlmüller Bäckerstraße is an absolute gem in Vienna's culinary scene. The star of the show? Undoubtedly, their enormous schnitzel. From the first bite, it's evident why this dish is legendary. The perfectly crispy exterior gives way to tender, flavorful meat inside. Accompanied by traditional sides, like potato salad, it's a symphony of taste and texture. Just to make it even more perfect a glass of any white wine is highly recommended. For starters a soup was all we needed. A five-star experience through and. The ambiance adds to the experience, with its cozy yet elegant setting. Impeccable service ensures every visit is memorable. through, Figlmüller Bäckerstraße is a must-visit for any food enthusiast.

Perfect place! It's supposed to be the first place for Austrian schnitzel. It was actually really good, pretty big and not greasy. The potato salad they recommend as a side was delicious but a bit small. We had their wine, which was good too. Prices are not excessive for a place like that. The ambience and service is lovely. I recommend you to book, if not you may have to queue for a long time.

Wonderful waiters, incredible schnitzels, unforgettable potato salad and surprisingly good recommendation of plum pancake desserts which the whole table enjoyed. Very busy so book ahead. Service is good but not swift.

So yummy! We ordered the Wiener schnitzel and the vegetable lentils with brioche dumplings. The Wiener schnitzel was thin and savoury and tasted very delicious with lemon, but what really stole the show was the vegetable lentils. Wow it was savoury, warm, comforting and so delicious. It was delicious! An unassuming dish but in my opinion a must order.

The restaurant is very crowded so I highly
Recommend making a reservation!

I recently dined at Figlmüller Bäckerstraße, and it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. The highlight of my visit was definitely the schnitzel. I tried both the cheese and turkey ham schnitzel and the classic beef schnitzel. The cheese and turkey ham schnitzel was a delightful surprise, offering a delicious twist on the traditional dish. It was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

The beef schnitzel was equally impressive, especially when enhanced with a squeeze of lemon. The tanginess of the lemon brought out the rich flavors of the meat, creating a perfect balance. I was expecting butter on top of the schnitzels, but it turned out there was none. However, this did not detract from the taste, which was still exceptional.

One thing to note is that we had to wait almost an hour to be seated. While initially a bit frustrating, the wait turned out to be absolutely worth it. The ambience of the restaurant, combined with the quality of the food, made for a memorable dining experience.

I highly recommend Figlmüller Bäckerstraße to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious schnitzel in Vienna.

If this is a tourist trap, I'm willing to fall into it every time I visit Vienna. The food is world-class—a true symbol of the city. The service is exceptionally professional, and the atmosphere is elegantly charming. Just the schnitzel alone is enough to fill you up, but the potato salad keeps you wanting more.

We booked a month ahead for our lunch, there is a zone for reservation only that is nice and not crowed. If you book, you can't get here late over 15 mins. When we arrived we saw the long queue just outside in another zone. The location is on the side street close by to the church. We had a nice cozy table,
Food is top-notch and has a big serving size, My advice is to make reservations ahead of time. The decoration is very chic-classic and lovely green tiles!
Overall, it is a great dining experience

The check-in experience was the worse part. We have a reservation but showed up early. The guy checking us in made one too many facial expressions and said one too many times "sir you're more than an hour early"... Trust me I know. I told him I could wait. He didn't seem to care. They were accommodating walk-ins at the time. We had a 6:30 pm reservation but walked in a little past 5. Fortunately one of the waiters in the back told us to follow him and sat us. Food took a long time to come out though. We didn't get our food until well past our original reservation of 6:30 pm. I've been here many years ago and everything was as I had remembered it. Delicious.

The food was exceptional The schnitzel was super big and their potato salad was delicious. Unfortunately i was used to that the tip is included in the bill like in Switzerland. So i just rounded up and it was 20 cents the waiter was a little angry with me he told me he has to give to the boss 3 euros so he lost on my 20 cents so he didn't round it up and i didn't realize until it was paid. I am sorry i didn't tip more.

Some reviews said the waiters aren’t nice but they were very friendly. The food was really good specially the tomato salad and potato salad was really good. We walked in and luckily we didn’t had to wait. It was around 5 pm. Also the service fees were not included

If you don't want to wait in line, I recommend you make a reservation in advance. There are two places close to each other.
We ordered beef schnitzel and potato salad, it tasted very good, but potato salad is our favorite, we ordered it again.
The design and environment of the restaurant is also very pleasant. Prices may seem high, but I ignore this in traditional restaurants.

Their Wiener schnitzel is perfect in so many ways but not sure what makes it distinct from some of the other ones I tried in Vienna. I guess Figlmüller is a place you have to check out at least once for the experience. Also have to note that typically the potato salad and lingonberry jam is served as part of the dish when you order Wiener schnitzel in most restaurants whereas here you have to order each separately. Overall, everything was delicious but for me the the star of the show were the homemade spinach dumplings! It’s a must try💯
Our waiter was so sweet but their service is extremely slow, so expect to wait for about 50 minutes to 1 hour before you take a bite of anything you order. Also reservation is a must if you want to avoid long lines.

The original schnitzel is very big. The stuff is extremely friendly and polite. You should definitely reserve a table beforehand as it attracts many people that queue up waiting to be seated. Definitely recommend !

We booked a month ahead for our lunch and when we arrived we saw the long queue just outside to ✋ for tables.
Its location is on the side street close by to the church.
We had a nice cosy corner table, and the superbly friendly Artan service was excellent
Food is top-notch 👌 😋 and has a good serving size, so just make sure you check with the staff! My advice is to make reservations ahead of time
The decor 😍 is very chic-classic and lovely green tiles! The washrooms are very nice and clean as well! The reception staff and manager on duty are very friendly and welcoming 🙏 😀

If you are in Wien, you have to eat schnitzel and I think this can be the one of the best restaurants to try that. There was a queue at the door, and we had to wait approximately 40 minutes. However, I can say it is worth to wait. I ate schnitzel from veal and potato salad. Schnitzel was very good and I have never eaten such delicious potato salad before.

An experience that deserves the reputation. High quality of fire as well as great service. Figlmuller is the most famous schnitzel restaurant and this has a reason. It is hard to reserve a seat even weeks before. Instead you can go and wait in the queue since the restaurant has an equal treatment for the non reservations. At most you will wait for half an hour and it's worth it.

ordered one veal and one chicken. both were excellent but found the veal to be the juicier and softer of the two. expect big portions- chicken schnitzel is larger than the plate and the veal comes as two pieces.
would also recommend the potato salad and tomato salad as they were both refreshing sides to the meal.
