Amazing food with super friendly staff.

We were here with our friends (this was their 3rd time in Mraz & Sohn) but for me, it was my first 2-star experience. The interior is relaxed and welcoming. And the food... it is just so good that I would eat any of the plates from our 12-course tasting menu for the upcoming 3 months, every day. It was delicious, playful, creative, funny, but it was also very, very good food in the traditional, no-nonsense way. The sommelier guy was super friendly and chose the best possible options for our taste. This was a great evening in the company of really good friends. Money well spent!

5/5 for the general vibe, presentation and service. everyone was very friendly, the wine was delicious & the food beautifully presented. the food itself was good but honestly nothing blew me away – excited to return during a different part of the year for a new menu though! still highly recommend it :)

At Mraz & Sohn one gets the feeling of a true high-end dining experience. From the moment you're welcome by the Chef and his two sons, and all along the 15 dishes until you leave the establishment, you feel like you are their only client and concern of the evening. Service was excellent, just as were the food and wines. The execution was flawless, and made a lasting impression.

I’ve dined at quite a few Michelin spots in Vienna alone, but Mraz und Sohn still came out as the most memorable meal. From its casual but extremely attentive and friendly service, to the humble but creative dishes - everything was spot on. The fact that it’s also the most reasonably priced of the bunch…it’s no wonder this is the hardest place to get reservations for.

I watched an interview from Lukas Mraz once, where he said that he felt sad hearing people come out of fine-dining establishments with great compliments but saying “I wouldn’t want to eat this every night”. Well why not? He thought. And I can say for the meal I had, this ethos rang true and he accomplished what he set out to do: none of the meals looked like works of art you see at Amador or Konstantin Filippou. But every single bite was pure joy. Just hit after hit of dopamine.

...And I craved to eat it all again at the end of the meal. Thank you Mraz und Sohn!

Super! #1 world wide! The french made tires and guide books for folks driving around and I would strongly recommend making a detour for where ever the hell you are to spend some time here! These folks are doing the lord's work! gesamtkunstwerk ! Eyes Ear Nose and Mouth and don't forget the spirit. A hell of a good time - i hope to be back soon :)

Every step of the way - each detail and bite after bite like a well composed score - pure poetry - music ! What a pleasure - full and complete going here and there and back again - i dont have the words for food writing but holy god mother of pearl - what a nice way to spend an evening with a loved one :)

Of all of the Michelin Star Restaurants I have been to, this is probably one of best couple. Everything on the menu tasted exceptional. The service was also really good, good wine recommendations and the cheese and bread selection was excellent. Highly recommended if you can make it!

Amazing service, beautiful and tasty dishes. It's a hard task to keep a guest entertained through several hours with 14 dishes, but this place does the job perfectly, without any fine dining BS. Loved the casual atmosphere and design of the menus and the website. They prepared a fabulous dairy-free tasting menu upon request. Great value for money.

Great concept of the restaurant - very unique approach as well as the food being served which is extraordinary. I highly recommend to visit and experience dining in this restaurant.

One of the best meals of my entire trip and life tbh. Amazing from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly. Must check these guys out.

2018:
First time I dined at Mraz und Sohn I had no expectations.

I thought, after many visits to Michelin-starred restaurants – that none will perform better than my favorite place – Alcron, Prague.

But these guys had taken the lead. They provided the best dining experience of my life.

Now, when I returned to my second visit I was a bit scared. I was afraid my perfect past experience will be ruined. These concerns came true a night before, when I visited Steirereck for the second time, after a wonderful first visit a year before and had a bad second visit.

My second visit at Mraz und Sohn was even better than my nearly perfect first visit.

I always liked the warm casual ambiance which naturally stayed the same.
I also like the friendly, easygoing yet professional service. High-end institute with a warm family business feel.

So why my second visit was better?
FOOD!

Major upgrade from the last time. Simple ingredient are perfectly executed to create an unforgettable dishes. They serve you a tomato with cherry and your first reaction is – “is this what I came here for?” But then you have your first bite and you start crying because you know you only have a few more bites left of this perfection.

Bottom line – Highest standards possible. Can’t wait for my third visit.

An exceptional cuisine!
This place leaves all the rest behind in all factors: Food, Service and Value.
Visited countless of high-end restaurants. Some terrible. Some average. some are very good.
Mraz und Sohn is the kind of place that reminds me why I invest so many resources on high-end dining.
Unforgettable evening. Can't wait for another visit.

INCREDIBLE MEAL! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend $ on an epic meal. Can I give this place more than 5 stars? It was the best meal I can remember having in the past few years. The flavours are fresh and fun as is the presentation and service. I really liked how the dishes did not contain too many flavours and components like some of the other higher-end restaurants we’ve been to.

Starve yourself before this 13 course meal as you will be stuffed!

Some standout dishes:
- Leek tempura which was glutinous in texture and so tasty. I think it had a tad of sugar and salt seasoning on top. Don’t forget the dip — usually I would rather just have the tempura by itself if it’s this good but the dip was really complementary.
- Lamb encrusted in Szechuan peppercorn. AMAZING!
- Cereal with milk with dark chocolate slivers, fresh Lemon thyme, goji berries and some sort of sponge toffee that tasted like honey. The cereal had sunchoke/Jerusulem Artichoke.

we got the best seats in the house and it was remarkable to watch the chefs work seamlessly together.

the porcini mushroom with the thinnest slice of porchetta & banana vinegar (!) blew my mind. the miso soup with nasturtium and goat cheese was a close 2nd (best miso soup of my life!). deep fried artichoke; pizza; kakigori (japanese shaved ice) with cucumbers; sorbet with candied olives secretly tossed in with blueberries are all tied for 3rd.

highly highly recommend if you’re in the area.

This is absolutely a must visit in Vienna. The food is incredible. I would normally list a few of my favorite things but there is a tasting menu with or without wine... I'd strongly suggest a with wine but you can't go wrong either way. Wine pairings are nothing short of perfection! Do not miss any opportunities to dine at this fine establishment

Fine dining is fine dining for a reason. This restaurant is a prime example of an exemplary culinary experience. From the moment you walk in you feel like somehow, even though you can see the other patrons, you must be the only people in the restaurant because it feels like everyone’s sole concern is your enjoyment. All the dishes we had were creative and delicious. The cheese course alone, that multi level trolley, is worth going. Our wine pairings were spot on and it was great to be able to try Austrian wines you simply can’t get in the states. If you are willing to treat yourself, Mraz & Sohn is the place to do it in Vienna.

Absolutely superb experience! Service team is easygoing yet highly professional, food is absolutely fantastic and the sommelier was perfectly helpful in guiding us through their incredible wine menu. Fine dining in a relaxing atmosphere for what I think a more than reasonable price. It can’t get much better than this!

I'm very grateful we were able to get a table due to a late cancellation for my wife's birthday (they were booked 3 months solid). Everything was absolutely excellent; the concept of bringing a shopping trolley showing the ingredients to your table at the start, the friendly and attentive staff, the size and pace of the courses, but above all the food is outstanding. Everything is done in a technically flawless way, with a pure and pleasing taste.

The staff too were all generous enough to answer my questions, engaging and being helpful. While you can't really call it "inexpensive" I think it's exceptionally good value for the quality and experience. The experiences was further enhanced by simple things like not paying for water, the very reasonably priced [excellent] wine pairing, and the generosity of the staff mean we will be back as often as we can get in.

The place is low-key, both in how they market themselves and the of show-off which I admire and enjoy. The only negative I can say about the restaurant is the website, but I feel this may actually be intentional to ensure that only those who really want to get in will manage it. (But a more usable UI would be appreciated.)

Have visited numerous Michelin star restaurants for a decade now. On our recent trip to Vienna we dined at Apron, Amador, Mraz & Sohn and Konstantin Filippou.

So, Mraz & Sohn.
Mraz & Sohn still takes the first place for the best dining experience of our life but unfortunately not for this visit but for the previous one.

First, the food.
Food is measured, among other criteria, by whether or not we had at least one course that makes us want to revisit the restaurant.
This time the cheesecake was the diner's highlight. Also the hot/cold Pizza.
Other than that, we felt like dinner was missing 1-3 more ingredients to make it more versatile and complete.
Dinner consisted mainly of the red tuna - 3 courses were served with this ingredient as the main theme.

Service.
Service was the main reason why our past experiences at Mraz & Sohn were exceptional.
It is a unique experience to dine at a family restaurant with a 2 stars rating.
Markus, Lukas and Manuel used to provide a personal and warm service.
Unfortunately, Maunel is no longer in the restaurant, and with his absence, the restaurant lost a huge chunk of its soul.
They now have an army of kind, professional and friendly staff, but the warmth and soul is not there any more.

Wine service.
Sommelier was professional and attentive.
Listen carefully to our preferences and successfully match all the right wines.
Wine by the glass was a disappointment. The servings were considerably smaller than what I have seen in other countries. I felt that the price did not match the quantity. unreasonable to pay that much for that little.
Also, the options for wine by the glass were slim and I felt that Vienna did not offer a rich and complete wine experience. I was looking for more variety, quality, and quantity in the wine selection, and I found it disappointing in Vienna.
This was consistent with all the other restaurants in Vienna.

Atmosphere.
Was never its strongest attribute to our taste.
Atmosphere is more of a Berlin style - modern, eclectic and international vibe than a Paris style - classic and elegant.

Value.
Excellent value. The only restaurants with very reasonable pricing.

Summary.
Mraz & Sohn is a solid 2 star restaurant.
I will definitely visit again and recommend others to go.
We’ll miss the old days when it was a true family business.

Absolutely wonderful food and wine. Incredible service in a laid back atmosphere. Everything about the restaurant was deserving of the 2 Michelin stars it has received. The most fun restaurant I've been too
