The Church of St. Charles makes an amazing impression from the outside, a large building with two huge columns and a dome. Inside, the impression is even bigger, the incredible wealth of interior decorations is absolutely breathtaking. Possibility to enter the panoramic terrace with a nice view of the city. The ticket is 9.50€, some people will say it's expensive... but I guarantee you won't regret it after this visit.

I was startled by how detailed the outside wall and the figures stones were being craved. The church looked like it was touching the sky. I fancy the turquoise green color on the top dome because it seemed elegant and artistic. Apart from that, I know they preserve the building much that was why I could still see the bright color of this historic building. They provided a classical concert in the evening inside, but I couldn't afford it 🥲

Must place to visit in Vienna.
The ticket is 9,50€ per person and 7,5€ for a group of six persons and above.
The inside is stunning and classical music are playing so its so calm, it just make you wanna sit on the bench and relax and to forget everything.
Finally, the top balcony of the church has given to every visitor an view to the centre of Vienna.

This church is a magnificent elliptical underneath a glorious dome, filled with light. The stonework and gold accents create this amazing sense of peace and glory. Truly one of the finest churches of the Baroque. I went twice - once during the day and once during the evening for a concert. I definitely recommend both. The church is an excellent venue for a classical music concert and the acoustics are quite good - but to see the church properly you have to visit during the day when you can really explore. You have the option of going to an upper terrace. I wouldn't go any higher than the organ where you get a nice view of the church interior; the upper terrace at the base of the dome has a rather unremarkable view.

We had the most amazing concert inside the church. Worth the money definitely. Hearing Vivaldi inside this amazing church just gives you goosebumps. Definitely one an experience someone should not miss.

This cathedral is really beautiful 🤩 and gorgeous!!! Had to pay 9 euros to get in and see the roof top which is ok, nothing great. The interior is really beautiful and ornate.

Really worth the visit, just remember to bing 9.5€ in cash to pay the ticket. If you are in a group with 6 people, each one pay 7.5€ instead. If you want you can talk to someone before enter to enter together so you all pay less.

Majestic church in the heart of Vienna. The dome is really something. When it is dark in late evening, the illumination makes the church more beautiful from outside. The murals inside the church are also memorable.

Truly breathtaking church. The views from the viewing platform aren't that good to be truthful but the architecture of the interior is mind boggling. It's absolutely worth an hour of your time and well worth the entrance fee. All sides have ornate paintings and decorations.

Absolutely stunning. More magnificent up front. We also went to a Vivaldi consort. Magnificent building. Truly spectacular. Nice sitting area outside where people were casually chilling out.

We visited in the evening for a Vivaldi Four Seasons concert by Orchetra 1756. The church was the perfect setting for the concert since it helped with the acoustics. Grand interiors and amazing baroque architecture. It was gorgeous from the outside as well.

£5 for student to enter. The view from the top is not that good. There's a construction on going at the front of the cathedral. Nevertheless, great internal architecture and really worth a visit.

We went to the church to attend a musical orchestra. Arrived there before time, took our tickets and spend the time walking around the church. The size is grand compared to the church in the centre like St.peter’s church. There is a fountain upfront and creates wonderful reflections of the church, at night needs more lighting, it got dark and hard to see around the park.
The interior is bright and heavily decorated with golden motifs and brown stones. Baroque style.

One of the most interesting and beautiful churches in Vienna. It is also a wonderful place to hang out at night with the reflecting pool, palm trees and a small bar plus sometimes a spritz mobile a set up in the park in front of the church. There is an incredible and relaxing atmosphere. The church is a wonderful work of art mixing many styles. Truly a gem in the city and not something to miss.

One of the most beautiful church we have seen so far. They had a lift to go up to see the upstairs area and better look of the mural on the ceiling which had a long line but worth it. Take the time to go inside!

The Rektoratskirche St. Karl Borromäus, commonly called the Karlskirche (German for 'St. Charles Church'), is a Baroque church located on the south side of Karlsplatz in Vienna, Austria. Widely considered the most outstanding baroque church in Vienna, as well as one of the city's greatest buildings, the church is dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, one of the great counter-reformers of the sixteenth century.
In 1713, one year after the last great plague epidemic, Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor, pledged to build a church for his namesake patron saint, Charles Borromeo, who was revered as a healer for plague sufferers. An architectural competition was announced, in which Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach prevailed over, among others, Ferdinando Galli-Bibiena and Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. Construction began in 1716 under the supervision of Anton Erhard Martinelli. After J.B. Fischer's death in 1723, his son, Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach, completed the construction in 1737 using partially altered plans. The church originally possessed a direct line of sight to the Hofburg and was also, until 1918, the imperial patron parish church.

Beautiful church inside and out. Sitting outside affords you an amazing view with buskers often playing close by. I enjoyed sitting inside the church listening to the orchestra practice - and the panoramic view is lovely at sunset
