Restaurant beim Hofmeister

We were looking for an Austrian restaurant to sample their home dishes.

Food was really tasty. We had beef goulash with parsley potatoes and a side of two dumplings as well as a pork pretzel with a side of chips. For dessert we shared the apple cinnamon strudel as we were pretty full from the mains course. This doesn’t come with any cream/custard or ice cream but is a light dessert.

Service was efficient. The waiter knew a little English and was polite. There were only four other groups/couples eating at the time, serviced by the one waiter. January is a quieter month for them, he explained, after the Christmas rush. I booked via the Google reserve which was super easy.

The facility was very clean, on the face of it, including the toilets.

All in all a pleasant experience. Noticed the prices have increased slightly from the photos I liked at. The meal come to €64 which was reasonable. Had there been other diners to create more of an atmosphere it would have been very good.

Definitely a good stop for lunch or dinner. Extremely friendly staff and food local and delicious. Only gave 4 starts for food due to slight misguides on descriptions.

Traditional Austrian restaurant which serves vegan beyond sausage. I was so happy to find it! They also have a vegan strudel which is served warm and tastes amazing. The prices are fair considering that you are in the center of Wien (close to Stephensplatz).

Just what we needed. A giant Schnitzel. And delicious too.

We had spent a lot of time eating in the Xmas markets so it was great to finally have this Austrian classic.

Delicious food and friendly staff who spoke great English.
We ordered the ZwiebelRostBraten and Goulash and both were delicious.

I wanted to try something different so went with the boiled beef. It was excellent, so full of flavour. The waiter had a great sense of humour and his service was very good. We wanted somewhere that was a little quieter and it certainly was. I recommend this place 100%

Walked in during lunch rush but still a very friendly waiter found us a place.

Lovely place, friendly service and amazing food. The goulash with potatos was very delicious.

Great restaurant in a calm street close to Graben. They serve typical Austrian food and it tastes great. The service was warm and welcoming and very reactive. The time for the food to arztrive was a bit long but the great atmosphere and temperature outside made the wait time enjoyable.
