Absolutely amazing! The food was to die for (especially the schnitzel), and the atmosphere was extremely intimate. Our waiters were efficient and well mannered. For the quality you get, the price is great, especially as you are right off the Opera House!

Came here after seeing an Opera, so it was quite late...close to 10 pm. The service was outstanding and the waitstaff was very friendly and personable. I ordered the steak with peppercorn sauce, which was perfectly cooked to order (medium rare) and the sauce was rich and tasty. Very much enjoyed my dinner, and the price was very reasonable.

Our dining experience at this restaurant was fantastic, offering what is arguably one of Vienna's finest Schnitzels. Both the cuisine and service were exceptional. It's advisable to book a table in advance. I strongly recommend it.

Wiener Schnitzel is ok. Potatoes salad is too sour for my liking. Beef tartar is very yummy.

Wonderful place. Great service. The food was delicious. I loved the assorted bread basket with the buttercream on the side. Plates were big enough. One of the best schnitzel in Vienna. Will definitely go again.

One of the best traditional Tafelspitz in Vienna! If you want to have a great traditional meal in Vienna, then you should take a Schnitzel or Tafelspitz. Something else it’s just average.

Lovely experience dining at Plachuttas Gasthaus zur Oper. Each of us ate a schnitzel with a side of potato and cucumber salad, it was all fresh and delicious. Perhaps a bit overpriced for what it is but the dining experience makes up for the cost! Would dine again.

Great Viennese restaurant with traditional local food in the heart of the city! Mainly attracting tourists but with quality ingredients, delicious food. In good weather you should sit at nice terrace. I recommend to book a table in advance as the place is popular. Card is accepted. Underground parking is available within few minutes walk at the Opera.

Great food, slightly pricey, but you're in central Vienna, what do you expect? Known for the Tafelspitz (which was really great). My girlfriend had the roast pork with sauerkraut (can't remember the exact name), but it was also really tasty. The only problem was they put us on a table in the corridor leading to the WCs and next to the coats. I get you're popular, but damn, they're really trying to maximise their space utilisation! Overall great experience with a slight drawback. Definitely get a booking though or you won't get a seat.

The waitstaff were very kind and professional. We ordered 2 portions of the boiled beef and it was enough for four. This is one of the local specialties and a must-try dish when in Vienna. We couldn’t finish our shnitzel but it was great too.

We had Beef Carpaccio as starters, Tafelspitz and Roast Pork as the main dishes and panna cotta as dessert. Everything was delicious. Even the bread basket 👍🏻

Great place for traditional Austrian cuisine. Was recommended this restaurant (and their beef broth) by a friend who visited before and it did not disappoint. Had the Weiner Schnitzel as well and it was delicious. Service was also excellent. Will definitely come by again if I am in Vienna.

The singular vegetarian option was great!

Finding satisfying vegetarian meals can be a challenge, but at this place, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Viennese cabbage pasta with lettuce. The portion size was more than sufficient. Their salads were very truly exquisite.

I do not eat meat but was told by a local who has lived here 20+ years that this place has the single best Wiener Schnitzel in town.

In weekend, anyone want to have a dinner together with your family or friends, you should make a reservation in Wien.
Never the less, there were many customers, I and my wife were sit in front of main door but all foods are delicious and the server informed all menus how to eat with many sauces.

Fantastic place for feed. Here on a business trip and wanted a place to have Schnitzel.
Food was really good, as was the local craft beer!
Service was good and was not rushed or made to feel awkward dining on my own.

Plachutta next to the opera is the better plachutta, this is controversial and I know that, but something about it just makes it more cozy.

Many people say how good the schnitzel is or how great the desserts are, I think there are better places for those items in Vienna. For me, the reason to go to Plachutta is for the tafelspitz, and no one does it as well as Plachutta. It's a whole process, it's an experience and it undeniably delicious and unique. For those that don't understand why you would pay 70 euros for "soup" have never had tafelspitz here.

Yes, the service can be slow. The service can also be amazing. Sometimes it's raining, sometimes it's not. But the tafelspitz is and always will be incredible. You cannot miss this experience. 10/10 as it has been since the first time I came here as a kid.

Booked this restaurant for 9 people and when we arrived it was a beautiful private room with a circular table so we could all talk and interact. Wonderful food with best veal schnitzel of our stay (had 5 in 5 days). Exceptional service. Not cheap, but worth it.
