Excellent food, friendly & helpful waitress (explained everything what we asked and more), atmosphere - lot of locals, so I guess this is a place to go to for true Vienniese food.

Old historic restaurant with delicious food! I had the goulash with dumpling and it was full of flavour. Cosy place with individual rooms, friendly staff, and lots of history. Apparently we sat where the Kaiser sat so that was exciting. A lovely experience on a cold day.

This place is the real deal! Instead of falling for the usual tourist-traps of Vienna, this place is authentic, with great food and so cozy! Oh.. and don’t forget your cold beer

The third oldest restaurant in Wien. Enjoyed the Gordon Bleu! Athmosphere is very nice. A bit of wait for the food, but it was worth it. Waiting is not so bad in good company and with few beers. When you order the Gordon Bleu, don't drink too many beers before it. There was some serious eating. 😄

Lovely restaurant next to Schloß Schönbrunn park serving traditional Austrian food. We arrived a little late on a Saturday evening but the owner was very happy to still serve us some food. As we were in Vienna, we went for the Wiener schnitzel and were not disappointed and certainly did not leave feeling hungry. The potato salad had a special ingredient which made it taste delicious (ask the owner about it). Very friendly and welcoming owner. Warmly recommended!

Very old and original restaurant (Gasthaus). Everything is made of wood, the walls, the chairs, the tables, the floor. There are several small rooms and no background music which makes it easy to talk. They have a selection of board games which you can play at the table.
They still have these very old fridges from back in the days which I love! You really feel like being taken back in time there. The service was super friendly and quick, they interacted with my son very funny and friendly, the Schnitzel with potato salad was incredibly good! I'm a local and I have eaten many Schnitzel in my life and I can say these are one of the best in Vienna!

This place is a true local experience in terms of food, ambiance, and friendliness. Great cost-quality ratio and the most friendly waitress we met in this country. Highly recommended.

I found this place by accident while visiting zoo. Around 3pm the restaurant was empty and I was a little bit sceptical about that but I was so wrong! Restaurant look is gorgeus - it has also patio outside. All the stuff was very helpfull and nice. And The food - all the traditional dishes were there! So tasty and traditional.

An old style Austrian pub with a rustic atmosphere. The rolled beef was excellent as were the lentils.

We had such an incredible experience here! You can feel the history in the walls. The food is exquisite, very authentic and traditional Austrian dishes. The owner is so kind and generous and puts so much effort into his restaurant and choosing the beers and wines, he has exceptional taste in wine! If you are in Vienna, your trip isn't complete without a meal and a drink at Maxing Stuberl!

If you want to experience the real deal in Austria, this is it! The atmosphere is simple and basic in a nice way taking you back to the 18/19 100s. The staffs are very welcoming, cheerful, and detected to keep this place up serving in the same way it did for decades. The taste of the food is genuinely authentic and very tasty since all the ingredients are sourced locally for the best results. They also use butter instead of oil to cook their food which gives it a distinctive taste. Additionally, if you want to try the famous Austrian Dessert, the "Kaisershermann", this is the best place to visit. AND to top it all, the quantities are very generous and the prices are at par if not better than any restraunt you will dine-in in the city. Simply put, this place is "VALUE FOR MONEY"

Awesome place. Came here with a group around lunch time and got a seat quickly. Our group got the steak, fried chicken, and schnitzel. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend.

Really nice place to visit. Service was absolutely brilliant. We took traditional Vienna's schnitzel - you must try it, it was delicious. Place is about 10 minutes walk from Schonnbrun Palace - so pretty close, but far enough to be a little bit less 'touristic'. Beer & gluhweins were good.

The schnitzel was amazing. The meat was tender and juicy, encased in a perfectly breaded crust that was both light and flavorful.

The goulash was rich, hearty, and imbued with a depth of flavor that can only come from slow cooking and expert use of spices. The succulent meat and robust sauce made it a comforting, yet sophisticated dish that left a lasting impression.

The service at Maxingstuberl was also excellent. Ask Walter (the owner) for advice about what to see and where to go in Vienna. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable, ensuring a seamless dining experience.

Authentic place with fantastic hosts / owners. Over a hundred year old place with lots of history and old wooden walls and tables. Came in to try Kaiserschmartt (type of pancake desert) but ended up having also schnitsel and beers. Kaiserschmartt was fantastic! They made liquor sauce to go with it even though not normally comes with it. Also free shots of schnaps with the owner. Highly recommend the place after visiting the palace near by. We were told that king himself frequented the establishment
