I recommend checking this place out if you are in Vienna. A cute little restaurant with authentic Austrian food. You have to take the stairs and go down. Small tables and chairs, nothing fancy. Friendly and nice staff. We ordered the beef goulash with bread dumplings and the homemade sausage. The food was delicious.

Great food and great service. Although we came slightly late (10 min before the kitchen closed), they welcomed us and served us with a smile. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Austrian food!

A really nice place to dine in. The main course were great and delicious, but as I've tried many different types of schnitzel, this one didn't stand out. The pancake however, even though it doesn't look pretty, it's delicious. Waiter was very friendly and accommodating, he did indirectly hint the bill didn't include tips.

Great Austrian restaurant. We had a pancake soup, homemade sausages and a schnitzel. All perfect, really tasty and reasonably priced.

This place was always packed but both the times we ate here, our server (she might have been one of the owners, but I'm not sure) gave us outstanding service with a smile. We also loved the food (especially the rindgulasch) and beer and the atmosphere and will definitely be back when I return to Vienna.

A nice little eatery :) schnitzel felt like a homemade one :) the staff didn’t ask me for a tip, which added to the fantastic experience.

Nice cozy Austrian traditional restaurant in the city center.
They have many options of the local cuisine. So if you are looking for schnitzel, goulash or traditional sausages, then it is for you. Besides, they have nice Austrian red wine and many options of beer.
The personnel was quite friendly and helpful.

Very good place with tasty food and reasonable prices as for the centre of Vienna. We had sirloin steak with green peppers, tomato, onions and fried potatoes and Pork chop with green peppers, tomatoes, onions and french-fries and these were delicious.

A small place with amazing local food
Came here based on a recommendation, it’s was full, waited for 10 minutes for a table and it was worth it. Everything was super tasty, fast and efficient service and nice staff. Will definitely return here

Austrian bistro with specific food.
Some of the food was good, some was excellent.
The service was polite.
They speak English. They also have menues in English.
They do NOT accept CARD payments! So be sure to have cash on yourself.
The bathrooms were clean, but finding them was a maze in it of itself.

I was hungry for lunch so stopped here. I had the natural chicken breast with rice. Very thin gravy sauce absolutely delicious. Tender chicken, superb flavourful dish.
The gulasch soup, strong hearty flavour with chunks of potatoes and meat. Served with 2 bread rolls. Great flavour.
Melange or milk coffee.
Good value. Great place to stop and take time out.

Great location, in the middle of the city close to the opera, and still quiet enough to enjoy outside seating. Waiters are attentive, menu authentic and extensive enough to satisfy some cravings, and most surprisingly: the prices are very tolerable for a Wirtshaus in the first district.

Food is, as stated, authentic and very tasty, from the soups to the main course meats all the way to the delicious desserts. A nice experience, quick and satisfying but not too filling, from beginning to end.
