Katholische Kirche Maria Rotunda

This church surprised me. I'd seen a few photos but they hadn't prepared me for how spectacular the place is. The vivid white stucco walls are broken up by fresco panels that are inset like jewels. It's like nothing else I've encountered before. It really does succeed at what I think is one of the primary aims of church architecture: creating a space where you really can feel the divine (whether or not you believe in it).

A beautiful church worth the visit. The detail that went into this church is stunning. Take a moment and stop in to admire. The pipe organ is beautiful.
