Ostwind Szechuan Restaurant

The owner was really sociable and helpful. The food was delicious one of the best sichuan food we had in Europe. It is just delicious. It might be on the spicier side but I highly recommend it. The service was efficient and great.

If you like authentic Sichuan food, Ostwind is the place to go. For many years now, this restaurant offered a great variety of Sichuan specialties (and also some dim sum selections), and all are prepared impeccably fresh and superbly cooked.
You know you are in a good place when the tripe and beef salad arrives, bathed in a hot chili-oil dressing. The same goes for the plate of crunchy pig's ears. A generous pot of (very spicy) chicken "soup" was redolent of spices, with a generous amount of mouth-numbing Sichuan pepper. Addictively good!
Service is friendly, attentive and efficient. Prices very reasonable.

Fantastic restaurant! It is not the prettiest from the outside, but just step inside and enjoy their delicious food. We had a couple of starters, my favorite was the „Schweinsmagenstreifen“ (pig‘s stomach, cut into stripes, cooked and marinated in a spicy sour-sweet sauce. As a main I had some sort of beef stew, it was so good, and my friend did get the mapo tofu, which was very delicious too.

Nice experience here. It's not fancy, but the food tastes great and seems more authentic than some places. I recommend the twice fried pork belly and the dim sum. Make sure to specify a spice level if you care about it, or they may not ask.
Rice does not come with the meals, so make sure to order it if you want it.

Best Sichuan food in Vienna! Authentic and delicious! Be prepared for some spicy food by default (although you can ask to turn the heat down)

First time trying out Szechuan cuisine in Vienna. The dishes were very spicy and delicious. Good thing we had the steamed/fried buns with condensed milk to rinse away the hotness in our tongue. The staff and especially the boss is extremely friendly and hospitable. I must say that my Szechuan cuisine cravings were satisfied!! Would come back another time to try out more dishes :)

Highest recommendation. While it's not so difficult any more to find authentic Chinese food, it's rare to find such delicately layered flavours that shine through the spicyness. Great service and selection. Try the 凉拌黄瓜 (cold spicy cucumber) on a hot day. So happy to have found this place.

Called 30min ahead, owner was friendly and said just drop by and we will make it work.

Love the spice level and the Sichuan dishes are fantastic. The other part of the menu are OK, but you can find those dishes at every corner.

Very nice and delicious authentic Chinese Sichuan region food. Might want to take it easy with the spice if you don't love spicy foods. 3 pepper indicators will probably send an average European to the hospital.

It was the best and most authentic Sichuan food I've had in Europe for the last 10 years. No kidding! Always have to go back here whenever we are in Vienna! Prices are very reasonable, much cheaper than in Germany, especially the tastes that are way better than the Chinese food we could find in the city we live in.

Excellent food, rich and bold flavours, great service and environment, loved it!

Busy Monday evening with a lively feeling without being hectic. Had cucmber salad, dim sum, pork belly, small beer, warm sake and water - total 35,50 euros so very affordable in my opinion. The food was divine and there was enough of it. Friendly brief service even tho the restaurant was full. Absolute favorite!

Real szechuan dishes, prepare for the hot wave! The staff is awesome while the service is fast.

It is one of a kind experience. I would suggest ordering for the table amd share the food. Order water for sure, it is spicy!
