Café Merkur

We just loved this place. We had a very brief stay in Vienna, and yet we came here twice. With more time we would have come here for breakfast too. It's very vegan and vegetarian friendly. The food is delicious and the selection is varied: greek, arabic, western, etc. Try the ice tea, it's awesome! Service was very kind. Prices are low for what you can find in Vienna.

Wonderful cafe with lovely food, staff and the best hot drinks. I had the best latte here during our whole six weeks in the EU. We came here 3 times during our stay in Vienna. Highly recommend 👌

Cozy, lovely, affordable, and local café. went there for a late brunch, and tried their Kurdish breakfast, which was very delicious, huge portion and reasonable price compared to other places in town. Loved the earthy environment they created.

Lovely place and super friendly staff! We went there for a late Sunday breakfast. The menu has a lot to offer and it all tasted great. (The Kurdish breakfast plate is a must). And with those prices, I'd say it'd be a shame not to try it. A lot of outdoor seating as well.

Lovely atmosphere and really nice staff. Also, I loved my oat milk chai latte. I'm so lucky my friend recommended this place, I will definitely come back here again!

Friendly staff, they can speak perfect english. It only took 2 minutes for our hot chocolates to come out (which were delicious.) Our food came out 3 minutes later. All our food was delicious!

Literally amazing food and atmosphere. The schawarma wrap and cheeseburger tasted very BIO and fresh. U can tell it was cooked with love. The place deserves more recognition

Excellent service! Although they do not have English menu, the staff sat beside us and explained each dish. I was impressed by their service. The breakfast dishes tasted great and it was rather affordable. Do give it a try if you’re in Vienna!

We went there for brunch. We got the Spanish and Kurdish breakfast and shared a pancake with jam. Very reasonable price, good quality food, great location, chill atmosphere and very good service.

Popped in for a quick beer and ordered curly fries to go with. Beer was nice and fresh and curly fries were really good, well seasoned and crispy.

There was enough space between the tables to fit our stroller, which isn't always the case in Vienna, and that was nice.
Space had cozy, artsy and laidback atmosphere.

The waiter was friendly and helpful.

Had 2 different salads. They were both rich and nicely seasoned. Service was warm and welcoming. Next time we will definitely come back here.
One tip of advice, ice coffee is expected to be served in a high-ball glass rather than low-ball but since you are not the only place in Vienna that doesn't know this, you didn't loose the fifth star😘

The oriental breakfast is my favorite choice. Unfortunately the size of the dish has grown smaller and smaller over the years and the price has gone up but still the taste is wonderful.

Excellent service. I love the breakfast options here and my favorite one is the English breakfast 🍳. Cozy atmosphere.

Located on one of the 8th district's nicest roads and very friendly staff, Merkur is a great spot for breakfast or a coffee anytime of the day

Very good breakfasts! I had the Arabic one - tasty, fresh and filling, my sister had Kurdish one and pulled pork in the omlette is a bit strange, but overall everything very tasty!
Nice atmosphere as well, very green space with loads of plants, airy and perfect music as well. Overall great spot for Saturday brunch!

Great breakfast. So tasty! A short wait for food, not long at all. Menu in German so use Google Translate. Reasonably priced and very hearty, tasty way to start the day.
