Watched an anime film in one of Vienna's oldest cinemas. Such a charming experience.

Look out for their schedules, they have a good selection of movies! There's a mini snack bar inside as well!

If you want a really classical old fashioned feel to the now modernised movie theatre I recommend visiting this cinema. It shows many different movies and one can really get lucky with something you've never seen before. Full of culture and full of the old-fashioned feel. This movie theatre is for those that enjoy these types of things. They sell snacks and drinks at there little shop which you can purchase to munch on during your film. PS: There's also a super cool esoteric shop down the road if this interests you :).

My son and I had a very pleasant experience at Filmcasino! It was a calm and mellow place with a vintage feel. We saw the 40th anniversary of E.T.: The Extraterrestrial and loved the feel of the old theatre paired with the smaller screen experience. It was like seeing it for the first time in the early 80s. Fantastic! The price for the tickets and snacks was also extremely reasonable and the staff were super awesome! Highly recommend. Oh, and this specific showing was in OV. A lot of films they show happen to be in English - a bonus for the English-Speaking crowd in Vienna or anyone wishing to see OV movies in their native language.

Lovely old school cinema. They do not have warm food but sometimes they have people offering food, when I went they had tacos and nachos amazing!

Great old cinema 🤩 showing independent and Art House films.

A small cinema that is popular for the alternative program it usually offers (as opposed to the mainstream). As such it attracts the younger audience and can get crowded at times (e.g. Kung-Fu movies full of fortune-cookie-wisdom).

Cool local cinema showing classics and international movies. Host a variety of film festivals including Japannual for contemporary Japanese film. Prices are very fair.
Can highly recommend if you want to support arthouse film and enjoy watching gems that no other cinema in Vienna shows.

An absolute gem in Vienna, they play some cult classics here! The interior design of this place is stuck in time and absolutely charming!

My favorite cinema with my favorite films.

Variety in genre of film is very broad and extremely interesting as well. The ambience of the interior also sets the mood quite well. Coming here is always a great experience, my go-to cinema for the few times I go throughout the year.

good movie selection, nice staff, seats are comfy. wheelchair-accessible, though I'd contact the team just in case reservations are necessary (they are usually not). Airings for hearing and visually impaired are part of the program just as school programs. bus lines, tramway and metro are all within walking distance (the tram's a little further away). nicely located between pubs and foodies, so it's a great spot for meeting with friends or dates.
