This place has the best garlic rib in Vienna! The rib has a perfect harmony between sweet and savory flavors, with incredibly tender meat. Their potato fries are flawlessly crispy on the outside and moist within. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, reminiscent of being welcomed into a beloved uncle's cabin. Definitely coming back here on my next trip to Vienna!

Absolutely thrilled with my dining experience at Hinterholz! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming, perfectly complementing the rustic ambiance. The culinary journey began with their signature spareribs, which lived up to their reputation as possibly the best in town—succulent and flavorful, they're a must-try for any meat lover. The schnitzel was crispy on the outside and tender inside, a classic executed to perfection. The Käsespätzle, with its gooey cheese and soft noodles, was comfort food at its finest, and the Gulasch was rich, hearty, and filled with depth of flavor. Even the Caesar salad was a pleasant surprise, fresh and well-dressed. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch; friendly and attentive staff made our evening all the more enjoyable. The fantastic selection of beers was the cherry on top, each recommendation pairing beautifully with our meal. If you're in Vienna and looking for an authentic dining experience with a cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service, Hinterholz is the place to be. Can't wait to return!

This restaurant is so hidden! We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the vegetarian stir fry was. It is in fact the only vegetarian dish they have. The interior looks great, you feel like in a different world! Friendly service. Recommended!

The portion is generous and the price is affordable. The main dish and the sides are both delicious even better than the long queuing restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful as well. Even the time waiting for the food to be served was a bit long, it actually worth the wait and we couldn't finished all the potatoes under the ribs even they were amazing and we were starving. Highly recommended for people visiting Vienna.

Great hidden place. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff, which appears to be a rarity in Vienna. Food was good after a long day of walking and sightseeing. Would come back because they have ribs and we didn’t get to try them yet but they looked really good!

The food and service were just perfect. The best schnitzel I've ever eaten, it wasn't greasy. And the price isn't too expensive.

Lovely experience in a nice environment

Nice decor and courtyard, friendly staff who speak good english, its out the way but we ate early and was filled with Japanese tourists.

Food was good we shared a platter with pork Schnitzel , ribs sausages etc. Surprised by the amontl of food at a touristy restaurant for the price. Tasted great.

Was a busy day on New Year day. 5 stars for the ribs! Spicy, strong and finger-licking good! Big portion too. My wife had the boiled beef which was only so-so, or probably too bland for our taste ...

Bumped into this restaurant while walking around St Stephan. We ordered the ribs and they tasted really good and the portion was huge as well. The waiter was very polite and friendly. Great atmosphere.

Very good place in the city centre. Prices normal, portions huge. Classic Wiener schnitzel (19.90€). We've got Chicken Schnitzel (13.90€) and Pork Schnitzel (13.90€) and no problem. I would recommend it. Maybe they could give us more pommes, but thats the only thing i could be a bit unsatisfyed with.

Really nice place, the classical background music makes you feel back in time. It is classy and suitable for quiet meetings. The food was delicious!

Literally hidden gem, it’s not very straight forward to find if not using Google maps.
Atmosphere is great, not crowded, chill music, schnitzel is great(chicken > pork). Serving time is fast and staff is friendly.
If you want to avoid crowded restaurants or queues, it is a great place to visit.
