Rustic House & Coffee

We had a 5 day stay at this lovely hotel.
The rooms are large enough, nicely furnished and (some, like ours) have an awesome view of the lagoon as well as partial sea view.
The "lack" of a balcony was completely made up by the terraces / balconies on the top two floors, especially the rooftop terrace with awesome views both at day & night.
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. They provided scooters in good shape for the lowest price we had during our whole stay in Vietnam (100k/day), helped us book an awesome night kayaking tour and much more.
The breakfast and coffee from the cafe in the hotels ground floor were high quality, well tasting and cheap.
Highly recommended!

Excellent stay, would strongly recommend for the few reasons.
1. The owner is so friendly and helpful with tours and services in Cat Ba. His prices are fair and sometimes cheaper than what we could find. Often he would tell you what's a rip off and what is value for money so props for the honesty right there.
2. The coffee station serves the best drinks in Cat Ba, especially when you long for something unsweetened.
3. The rooms are excellent, clean, constant hot water and views of the sea.

We stayed at this family-run hotel for 3 nights, and the owner was so responsive and sweet to us!

The rooms were spotless, large and very comfortable. She was also helpful with recommendations and setting us up with our activities on the island, which made things a lot simpler. We’d often stop to chat with her and play with her dog, Dom, on our way out in the mornings.

Overall a great stay! Highly recommend anyone visiting Cat Ba to stay at Rustic House.

We stayed 4 nights here and we really liked it. Rooms are modern and clean. The people are super friendly and their breakfast is very good! We loved the waffles! And the dog is the cutest! We are looking forward to coming back ☺

What an amazing stay at Rustic Hotel! Everything from the room, location, cleanliness, food and beverages but most of all the service (!!!) The owners were friendliest couple (with baby and a cute little dog) and helped us with a super nice boat tour in lan ha bay, facilitated my personal requests of yoga lessons and grilling on the beach, doing research and sending us contacts. They really went above and beyond to be helpful and have so many good recommendations. Looks true to the photos posted. Do not hesitate to book this lovely hotel!!!

We didn’t stay here but we did have coffee and breakfast here and the staff was super friendly. We were sitting downstairs and she told us that they had a 7th and 8th floor rooftop with a view so obviously we went upstairs. Did not disappoint, the view was incredible and our breakfast was too! We got a banana smoothie, breakfast Bahn mi (comes with egg) and a waffle and it was all delicious!

The best accommodation we had in Vietnam. Lin was amazing hostess... She speaks English so, we learnt a lot about the culture and we had interesting conversations. Beautiful rooms, good food, cleanliness and the kids were soooo cute. We definitely recommend Rustic House and for sure we will go back any time we visit Cat BA again.

Hands down the best place we stayed at in northern Vietnam. The room has a lovely view and it’s super clean. The bathroom is quite big. Comfortable beds and lovely staff. Absolutely recommended!

Lily as well as her family is amazing. They are great,caring hosts. Amazing food (tried sandwich), ginger honey tea and coffee (yum)

Value for money stay and some rooms have amazing view (ours had the best 🥹)

Only the washroom at ground floor has a bit of damp smell and fan on ground floor has gathered a bit of dust and would be better with some cleaning, but those things can be ignored easily as the hosts more than make up for it with their service.

Amazing place to stay for cat ba. Good view on the sixth floor of the lake and mountain. Friendly host with good recommendations for tour, food places and bike rentals. Everything is at the appropriate price, do support them

We had a great time staying here. The view from the room was great, the staff is very nice and takes care of everything.
The cafe in the lobby makes a fantastic coconut coffee!!

Had a great 3 night stay at Rustic. Owners were super friendly and available at all hours. Room was clean and included all essentials . Great view of the inner harbour. Location is on the main road, but about 2 blocks’ walk from the main drag and loop road with all the popular restaurants. Great coconut and egg coffees.

Had a great stay at the rustic house. Beautiful room with nice view, great coffee and breakfast on the charming rooftop terrace and super super friendly and helpful staff :) felt right at home (also because the hotel dog was just the sweetest well behaved and cuddly doggo)

This was a family owned property and we had a chance to interact with many family members. The room was small, but well equipped. It was convenient having a coffee shop in the lobby. They could arrange a motorcycle rental at an affordable price. We also booked a bay tour to Ha Long bay operated by Cat Ba Green Trail that was amazing day. Thank you so much !

Had a lovely stay here - the room was lovely as well as the cafe and rooftop area. The hosts were so kind and helped us book buses and tours- would recommend.

Great stay. Clean and very friendly and helpful people. Scooter rental was easy. Old Scooter but didn’t break down. Breakfast was cheap and good as well. Laundry service was also good.

We loved our stay at Rustic House & Coffee. The vibe of the place is perfect, lots of plants and nice decor. The coffee shop downstairs is the perfect place to hangout and escape the heat (one of the only places in town with aircon) and the make the BEST coconut coffee!

Views from the rooms and roof top were great and the service was excellent! We really felt at home during our stay, the family were always happy to help and have a chat, super cute dog and baby hanging out in reception too!

We had an amazing stay here! Friendly staff that made us feel very welcome. Easy to book excursions and scooters aswell! Would comeback in a heart beat!

Great location in Cat Ba Town, superb staff who sorted out transport, activities, breakfast etc and always friendly. Basic room but had everything needed!
