Lovely place. The family is extremely friendly, the host is super, food is tasty, and you feel at home. You can't find anything better for the price, it's really cheap and good. Bedrooms are big and clean, and the host can help you book buses back to Hanoi or tours around the island. Totally recommended.

The location is great, the room is comfortable and chills quickly with a fan and an AC. The host provided meals were delicious, and she was a great help in booking a tour while were here, as well as our transportation off-Cat ba back to Hanoi.

The Cat Ba Mystery Homestay is a Vietnamese villa. The host-family is very friendly and helpful. They offered a wonderful service, booked different tours (e.g. boat trip, tracking trip) and rented out a motorbike, what is very nice for Cat Ba. The room was spacious and very new. It had a big bed, bathroom and air conditioner. The beach is in just 20 minutes walking distance and very clean. The breakfast was also very good. They served it from 6 to 11 am with pancakes, Vietnamese coffee, lemon juice, noodles or rise and also fried eggs. A good start in the day. Just the bed is not that comfortable, nevertheless you can sleep well!
We enjoined our stay very much and can recommend it to everybody.

We stayed with Lee and his family 3 nights. Mystery Homestay is a great place. It is located in quite and calm area. But if you want go to centre of CatBa is just 10-15 min walk. He is able to provide scooters as well (half day or all day). At homestay you find all you need, family atmosphere, clean rooms with comfortable beds, WiFi, breakfast - daily and tasty, Laundy Service. Lee running Travel Agency so he can offer you a cruise of Lan Hay Bay and Halong Bay. As one of the few he has licenses to enter Halong Bay. By the way they pass tourist places there so you do not see other ships. They also skip popular places like monkey island or fishing village. We went with his company and we are satisfied. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Nice affordable place to stay away from the tourist strip. Great breakfast every morning. Owner is really nice and can set up rides, tours, and motorbike rental.

It was very lovely, the host was very sweet and she could speak very good English!!! It was clean and a very nice stay, would really recommend it!!!
