Phuong Mai Family Hotel

We had a great stay here last week for 2 days! Excellent price, lovely room with amazing views. Friendly manager & staff, provided good information, nice breakfast, and extremely helpful for us in arranging the bus to the ferry to Halong Bay on our last morning. Would happily stay again if visiting Cat Ba! :-)

I got my hair cut here and can absolutely recommend this place! A very experienced hair dresser, he took his time, and dried it as well. And all this for a very good price. I would come again!

Lovely relaxing treatments! They have a bar so we had a beer whilst having a foot massage, was a fun experience. Would recommend :)

Nice rooms. Good massage but short time though 😔 (45mins only instead of hour). Booked the Halong Bay tour with the owner (cheaper)/same price everywhere. Last days were a bit noisy because of the funeral chants a few doors away. But all in all, 👍😊👍😊.

We had 2 Massages here and it was so nice!
My Friend made a hair cut (10/10) and I had the best manicure. The Smoothies are also very tasty. Lovely people☺

The owner of this family hotel is so nice & funny. They have rooms upstairs and a massage place & cafe & motorbikes rent downstairs. They can also get the best price for transportation and boat tour! Basically everything is at one place. Highly recommend for budget traveler!

Fabulous bay views from the room. Great location, very central and walkable to the beaches. Host was very kind and helpful. They offer motorbikes, spa, and tours all at very good price! Such an incredible value!

Stayed in their top top floor with sea view at 250k a night. This has been the best views from a stay I've had at this price. You can see the amazing bay. The location is near everything. The owner is nice. Helps with booking tours and services.

Cons: the room I stayed in was the uppermost floor. There isn't any elevator. All manual labor. I didn't mind this too much as it was great exercise but just to let you know. bathroom is old and basic but still gets you everything you need. We also used their laundry service and I lost one of my favourite shirts here. I hope it finds a new home and a kind owner.

Pros: amazing constant sea and Bay View just totally crazy great views. Price is super affordable especially split with others. The room I stayed in had two queen beds. Has a nice fridge and fans and AC.

Absolutely wonderful stay here. The owner and staff are so friendly and really good fun to talk to and drink beer with Breakfast and drinks available overlooking the incredibly beautiful bay in Cat Ba. Massage service associated with the hotel is excellent and I had several in addition to an overdue haircut. Recommend without hesitation and hope to return one day soon.

Amazing hotel! The room facilities are basic but have everything you need (air con, hot shower, comfortable bed, fridge, TV, good WiFi...) - combined with a great location and amazing views. They also offer motorbike rental, laundry, tours and transfers, manicures and pedicures and massage! There is a cafe downstairs with good breakfast options, coffee and the best smoothies that Cat Ba has to offer!

But what makes this hotel so special are the owners - genuine, kind and extremely helpful - they go out of their way to make you feel at home. I've stayed here for several months over the past few years for work on Cat Ba, and would never consider looking anywhere else.

If you are looking for low cost accommodation in Cat Ba, this is by far the best option.

we had a wonderful stay, and the view of the bay is abselutely amazing!! furthermore, the room was nice and clean with no weird smells, it had warm baths and a sofa corner. the staff there is also very helpful and friendly. we rented a scooter for a day and drove all around. thank you for a great time! The best coconut coffee and the people were lovely too, even parked my motorbike for me when I arrived!

We paid around 6 english pounds for far and away the best view we have had in our month in vietnam. Highly recommend. Also the owner and his family have massage and barber facilities next door and i can say for sure having just had my hair cut and beard trimmed that i now look at least 3 years younger.

Phuong Mai Family hotel is an affordable hotel in the center of Cat Ba village. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is also a scooter rental, massage and laundry service and cafe in the building. AC is working, Wifi working, hot water available for shower. Overall very good value for money and would recommend and stay again.
