Catba Green Hotel

Very centrally located affordable hotel. Breakfast was basically the same everyday but good (non vegan). The place was kept clean. Rooms were sufficient, pretty comfortable beds, and were serviced daily with fresh towels, toilet paper and drinking water. A bit challenging to shower, as the shower head was pointing horizontally at the wall. Bathroom gets fully wet when showering, but squeegee is provided. There is also a filtered water station at reception, which is super handy. I also managed to streams shows at times, so wifi worked well. Not much of a communal area. Staff is super friendly! Laundry service for 40k per kg (same day). Motor rental service for 100k, even though the bikes were a bit shabby and not fully functional.

Great stay with Catba Green! Free breakfast, vegan restaurant on ground floor ("Celery"), nice rooms with fans, comfortable beds and hot showers. It was very humid in Cat Ba during my stay, but the staff did a great job constantly cleaning, mopping etc. to ensure the lobby, halls and rooms stayed very clean. Speaking of the staff, they all were great, both in the hotel and the restaurant. I'd like to particularly call out Linh, who booked me on the most amazing afternoon and night kayaking/ beach campfire dinner excursion in which I saw the blue plankton at night from the kayak, absolutely AMAZING experience.

A+ hotel. Rooms were clean and quiet. Free drinking water and free breakfast buffet in the morning with crepes, bread, eggs, watermelon, pineapple, and bananas. Staff were friendly. Great location, 5 minutes walk to the harbor and 15-20 minutes walk to beaches/Rock Trail. Restaurant downstairs serves food all day and was pretty good. They can also do takeaway for your bus ride. The only con was that my room was quite damp when I was there due to humidity so I ended up sliding around a bit on the floor and my wet swim suit and clothes didn’t dry.

Great location, great rooms, great pillows, great beds. Very very happy with our stay. Exceptionally warm and kind reception staff, very nice food is the restaurant below. Staff here will help you with anything you need and speak wonderful English. Rooms cleaned daily and so on, absolutely no complaints. Can't see ourselves returning to the island because we've explored and hiked all we wanted and beaches aren't for us, but we really recommend this hotel for affordability and quality.

The most incredible staff ever. Lady in front office is amazing. She is handle everything so smooth and with huge smile! She will take care of you, she will book transfer, cruise and much more for good price. Also hotel provides rental 🛵 and simple but tasty breakfast 🍉 🍌🍍🥞 ☕.You will not regret it! Excellent stay! The receptionist Ms Chu Thị Đinh is super kinda helpful knowledgeable and speaks very good English. She arranged a lot of stuff for me and helped me when I got a bit sick.
The room is nice too, but the restaurant below is vegan and has a menu in the room. As a carnivore I was confused for a bit but all good
I forgot my charger at the lobby after checking out, called the hotel and they arranged for the daily bus to deliver it to me at Ha Long city bus terminal the next day. Just simply great!

We weren’t sure about where to stay in Cat Ba but we managed to find the perfect place. If you want somewhere that’s affordable, clean, in a great location, and welcoming, then look no further. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They organised a wonderful boat trip, a climbing session and a night bus to Sa Pa for us in minutes and let us check out late with no questions asked. The restaurant downstairs is always open and serves up delicious veggie food. Thanks again for having us!

The Room is basic but clean. Where this hotel really shines is the receptionist. When we had the last minute cancellation of our flight, she was able re-arrange multiple transfers for us well after her shift ended. This was the reason we stayed longer than initially planned.

Clearly the best hotel in cat ba, service is grate, rooms and facilitues clean, and the restaurant down their is exellent. Carefull with booking ratings
that can lead you to horrible hotels their !

Staff and owner very very polite and cooperative. We left luggage here after check out .
Room rent is very reasonable.
We will stay HERE ONLY during our next visit to Cat Ba island.

We booked this hotel months ago. When we arrived they arrange to stay at a new hotel near by because of their innovation. That was a perfect arrangement. The hotel staff also booked a day cruise to Ha Long bay with Cat Ba Green Trail, that was very good experience. We were on a big boat with 24 peopel. We did kayaking and swimming; kayaking was very interesting, we went through two caves and enjoyed stunning views along the way. The lunch served on the boat was amazing, our tour guide called Jony explained alot about the bay. Highly recommended !

The room here was wonderfully clean and quiet. Breakfast was included with our booking and was buffet style with fruit, eggs, pancakes, juice tea and coffee with a few extras, it was all good.

The staff were wonderful too, always willing to go the extra mile or help with bookings.

When we came to leave we'd arranged our own transport separate from the hotel, (we'd booked a return journey), unfortunately the pickup was late. We'd messaged the transport company who assured us not to worry, but time kept marching on. The lady on reception at the hotel, without us needing to ask helped us by calling the company and chasing them to pick us up. Turns out the transport company had forgotten us, but with the help from the lady at the desk we made our connection!

Everything was perfect during our stay here. Staff was lovely, room was clean, breakfast buffet was delicious and sufficient. Would definitely recommend!

Dinh and the entire staff are some of the most amazing and accommodating people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She helped us plan every adventure and was able to give us enough detail so we could do our own solo adventures instead of guided tours. The breakfast was delicious every morning and they even take special orders for how you want your eggs cooked! They had laundry service and motorbike rentals. The laundry smelled amazing and having motorbikes at our hotel was a one stop perfect experience! We chose this place somewhat randomly as we did not have a plan but I could not be happier that we landed here. They made our trip unforgettable and when I return to Vietnam I will absolutely stay here again. I will be excited to walk through the doors and see Lin’s beaming smile again! Forever grateful for you!

5 star service. The staff is so genuine and helpful (added us on WhatsApp to make sure we were okay during our hike and to arrange taxi’s). We asked to stay an extra night very last minute and it was no problem at all. Great location (a few doors down from multiple yummy restaurants) and a great breakfast (vegan options!!). The rooms are very basic but have everything you need. They even have a laundry service! Great budget hotel!

The service here was amazing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They serve a free breakfast in the morning which was the best breakfast we have had since arriving in Vietnam. The rooms were good, mattress was a little hard but the rooms have AC and were clean. Would recommend this hotel for anyone to stay :)

Absolutely loved this hotel. The best staff and owners in Vietnam. They were so so kind and always ensured we were happy with everything. I lost an expensive pair of sunglasses on a boat tour and they went above and beyond to get them found - they got them from another hotel for me! The room was a reasonable price. The beds were big and very comfortable. Everything was so clean. Breakfast was the best we have had also. Highly recommend. Thank you so much!

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel! Rooms are very clean and spacious. The free breakfast is super tasty and filling. The hotel has scooter rentals at a great price. If you opt out of using a scooter and prefer to walk, you are only a 5 minute walk to the water. Numerous good restaurants are also located very close to the hotel.

All of the staff at the hotel are super welcoming. Định speaks great English and I had many great conversations with her. She also gave me a welcome drink upon my arrival. Định provided me with recommendations of other places to visit on my journey throughout Vietnam.

The hotel offers an affordable laundry service option. You are also given the option to pay by credit card for a small fee.

I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to others!

Great hotel! The rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is very good (try the pancakes) and the location is great with only a short walk to the pier and with lovely restaurants around. Above all, the staff is very friendly. We do especially want to praise Chu who is super friendly, speaks English fluently and is very attentive. She helped us to organize various transportation for us, thank you very much :)

Located right in the heart of the Cat Ba Town. Easy access to restaurants, cafes & tour companies.

They have a partnership with everyone, so they can easily arrange pickup/drop, boat tours & hikes for you. They also have motorbike rental & laundry service.

The receptionist is super helpful and also very fluent in English. She'll help you with everything over WhatsApp.

On arrival, they'll also give you a 20% coupon for the vegan restaurant in the hotel, which is quite nice.

Just their internet isn't great, so not ideal for remote work.
