Al Salam International Foods

Quite the gem tucked away here in Iowa City. Al Salam has a decent array of various Middle Eastern Foods and Treats. I've found the pricing to be good and these date cookies are rather delicious. Not to mention the Turkish Olives they import.

If you live in town you should stop by and give it a try.

Bought ingredients for Atayef and it was perfect! The desserts on display were also sooo good! The people there were so wonderful and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Good selection of food, beverage and other items. Pastries at the front are amazing and I highly recommend them. My friend and I always stop in to pick up Jaffa Cakes.

Owner and family helped me find snack options and even threw in a free sesame bar for me to try. Reasonably priced. Quality snack of roasted pumpkin seeds, peanuts, pistachios, almonds and some pieces I couldn't identify. LOL. I'll return!

This store has a lot of stuff that I miss from my home. It's big and organized. I'd visit it for any middle eastern food.

This is an international grocery, providing foods , drinks and food stuffs mostly for Arab, Muslims, Africans and all people who likes these types off foods and drinks and also provide halal meats, foods and drinks specially for Muslim community of Iowa City and surroundings. It’s located at the west side of Iowa City within the Walden square plaza between SouthGate real estate office and Fareway very recommended for individuals and families of those above mentioned communities.

The owner is so kind and attentive. I love getting goat meat here.
