Ace Hardware Grayslake

I stop here pretty frequently for craft projects. Always has a great selection, love working with the staff here, always very kind knows just where I should look for what I'm trying to get. Mark the other day personally showed me where to get some items and recommendations for others I wasn't sure about for a new project - I'll show everyone know how the mini-trebuchet goes when it's done so you know the materials were good :p

They always have what I need! I don’t typically shop franchise or big box stores, but I always turn to Ace Hardware, especially in my area, because one family owns a handful of them, and they’re all in my area. I know I’m supporting a local family with my dollars and I get a common experience amongst all the stores…excellent!

The employees are courteous and extremely helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience with anything. Grateful to still have a local store to shop in.

Propane tank fill up. Also a great place to hit up for odd and ends surprisingly that big box hardware doesn't carry.

I can find about everything I need. Even faucet replacement part for my bathroom faucets and tub. Helpful people too.

The customer service at this store are outstanding. Every time I have shopped at this store, I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable and happy to assist. Great variety of products in a well lit easy to navigate layout. I recently purchased a Weber grill which was assembled and delivered by a very knowledgeable Ace team member.

Went in to pick up some septic treatment. Was unsure which kind to get and the guy I asked said he had no idea, the plumbing dept guy was off until Monday. Thankfully, he called him to ask a couple questions and pointed me in the right direction. Super, super helpful!

Impressive, welcoming hardware store with a beautiful selection of helpful products. My husband and I find so many useful items at bargain prices here, including fantastic household things. For example, Udderly Smooth Hand Cream. Naturally, this Ace Hardware has all of the paint and tools one could ever need. But if you need a plant sprayer or planting pots they have them. Have I mentioned curb side pickup? Five Huge Stars.

I love visiting the Grayslake Ace hardware. The employees are much more helpful than the big box stores. Ace also has more variety in the products I'm looking for.

Today, however, an Ace Hardware employee went above and beyond when she returned my wallet to me! I visited the store around 7:30 pm on 7/9/2020. I must have accidentally left my wallet near the cashier after my purchase. I returned home without even knowing I left my wallet. Later, around 8:45 pm I heard a knock at my door and it was the cashier returning my wallet! She drove out of her way after work to return my wallet to me. This is one of the nicest things someone has done for me. I'm writing this review because it was the only way I could think of thanking her.

Today, Monday, June 8, I went to Ace for a new hose and reel. I needed help because I could not find what I wanted. I asked for Scott to help me, not his department, cut he went out of his way to find the items for me. First I thought I would have to go to another store, but Scott checked the inventory and said you had both items in stock but they were not on the shelf. Scott went to the back and found exactly the hose and reel I wanted. Must thank him for going out of this way to help me and sent me home with what I wanted and made me a very happy customer.

Want in today with a snowblower that wouldn't start. Fully expecting to have to leave it there with a possible 12+ inches of snow coming tonight. They got it running and now I'm ready. (I forgot to get the name of the gentleman that helped me. Stupid on my part.) Also a shout out to Deb for looking and finding another item I needed. This is a great store with great people working there.

I went into this ace hardware with a strange problem and a strange request. I was looking for a tool that does not exist, so essentially i was trying to create my own. I needed a tool that i could use to get something unstuck that was in a strange position. One of the the store employees named Wayne walked up to me and asked if i needed help. I explained my situation to him and he actually didnt look at me like i was crazy. He took a second to think and figure out what he could do to help me. He then came up with the amazing idea to combine a few little pieces together that he had in the store, and made me my custom tool. I was very appreciative and very happy to try it out. Sure enough, i went home and it maybe took me a total of 30min, and i had got the thing i needed unstuck. It worked perfectly! Now i can ride my new bike :) Thank you so much Wayne and you deserve this review and more, because you dont see customer service like this anymore, and we should all appreciate it!

Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. If you need help, staff is more than willing to help. They are the perfect amount of being around and leaving you alone.
