The Item Shop

I never write reviews but I've got to hand it to this store. There's something for everyone here, from games, DVDs, action figures, to trading cards. The staff are very friendly and informative. I've bought many GameCube games from here and not once have I had a technical issue with a single disc; they take good care of their inventory.

If you're looking for a place to buy retro games or other nerdy pop culture stuff, you will love the Item Shop.

Fantastic place to get retro games and consoles! They also have an amazing selection of dvds and vhs tapes, as well as some more rare and hard to find collectibles. There's always something new to see whenever I go in, and the staff there is wonderful!

I hardly ever do reviews but needed to for this place! I had no idea this shop was right in my backdoor! This is like a Toys R Us on steroids. For adults and kids alike! This shop has an amazing selection of videogames and consoles and it does not go unnoticed. I used to have to shop online at DK oldies for retro consoles specifically because there was never a cool shop like this around my area. Busts, toys, stickers, movies, etc. yes yes and yes!! Even if I dont get anything from here being in the shop makes me happy. The customer service is incredible. Awesome owner. Thank you guys(:

This is the BEST place in town by far. Oh my gosh it was so nostalgic just walking through the store. This is not just games but it’s everything all toys, books, movies everything from as far back as you can remember. Also, they do the most reasonable trade for selling your items!

Neat selection of old video games (was looking for Wii and 3ds). Clean and easy to maneuver store. Staff friendly. Will definitely be heading there again.

A Retro Gamer's Dream!
I was impressed to see how organized the store was. Lots of games, consoles, and collectibles for sale! You can tell that they take care of their stuff and keep it clean. I bought a few games (Halo: CE, Halo 3, and Mass Effect) from them and I'm happy to report no issues playing them at home! Strongly recommend this place!

I am glad I found this place! It's just like the game stores that were around when I was younger. They have such a variety of games and, well, items! Awesome and friendly service, 10/10 will be back

Interesting treasures to hunt through. Always new and diverse merchandise. From new and retro games to action figures and comic books. This resale shop is often the spot you'll find a missing piece to your collection.

This place is a gem. Wish I’d gone sooner. Everything is meticulously curated and at the same time there’s tons of variety; not an easy feat!

Everything was in phenomenal condition! The people at the store were nice and I even ended up having a conversation with a worker about retro handheld systems. They had so many retro games! A retro gamer’s wish. Would recommend going, it’s amazing.

Always helpful and friendly staff. They literally have something for everyone on your Xmas shopping list. Hope their business continues to grow and flourish.

I bought a gameboy advance and p ps1 original and they have been in amazing condition no problems with either and they are amazing people and staff and easy to talk to and I’ve traded some games and gotten a good amount of money and they also have reasonable prices too so overall this is my favorite game store in Northern America 😁

I had some games to sell. Went to GameStop and was referred here. Found out they also buy collector items. I brought in my games and some comic magazines, & a couple pins. Not only was everyone friendly but extremely helpful. They weren’t interested in the magazines but referred me to another comic book/magazine store. I had the pleasure of talking with frank, Tyler and Brian. They offered a great deal and had some really cool things. I HIGHLY recommend this place for any fellow nerd or gamer. Check it out. You won’t regret it!!!

I'm giving this place a 6/5 stars, I don't care that there is a five star limit. I have been doing business with the Item Shop for almost a year now, and I have been meaning to write this review for a while.
The Item Shop primarily deals in video games and collectibles, so whether you are a veteran of the Legend of Zelda or are just wanting to get back into collecting Pokémon cards, or you are looking for a gift for that Marvel fanatic of a friend or are hoping to find that one vintage Star Wars figurine just like the one you had as a kid, then my number one suggestion for you is to visit the Item Shop! They have all of these things and much more, and everything has great and competitive pricing. The owners themselves are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their stuff, so they make for great and stimulating conversation, and they always make time for you.
I myself am mostly interested in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, and Pokémon cards, and whenever I visit them I always seem to find something I want to add to my growing collection. Their selection of trading cards is large and continues to grow, so there is a wide selection of choices for both high-end collectors and those that like to get a little Pikachu card on occasion, as well as everyone in between.
If you're not interested in shopping, however, the Item Shop is interested in buying something from you! The vast majority of their inventory is from people selling them their unwanted video games and collectibles, so feel free to bring in anything from games, gaming consoles, comic books, trading cards, merchandise, figurines, DVDs and CDs, LEGO, and many other various things. They will price these things out using up-to-date sources and make you an offer (if they're interested - make sure you have all the parts and that they're in good condition!).
Even if you don't want to sell anything, just a stroll through the place to see what is on display is not only welcomed, it's encouraged! So many people walk in and talk about the nostalgia they get just from being there.
Sorry, you must feel like you just read a short novel. If you made it this far, however, your interest must at least be piqued. This is an amazing place to visit, but rather than take my word for it, why not visit them yourself? Who knows, you might even end up running into me while I'm there!

The Item Shop is so cool! The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. My entire family likes going. They are always very welcoming and kind to my kids. We are so lucky to have a store like this in town!

This is a great place to find games for the current and older gaming systems. Atari, Xbox, 360, Playstation's and they have some older consoles if your looking for those. Funko pop, yep those are here too! Plus other awesome things!

Ryan and Frank are some of the nicest guys you'll meet. Excellent store. Wide choice of nostalgic new and old. Huge video game selection and a seemingly limitless supply of good vibes...highly recommended!!!!

Friendly service daily!! Excellent finds from old toys and collectibles, rare toys I've only heard of. Including a vast assortment of funkos, Pokemon, Dvds, video games and systems from Calico to Atari on up to the present. A nice corner of 90s to now comic books as well. I highly recommend!! Always satisfied even to just see what's new.

I love stopping in here, even if I’m not looking for anything in particular. A treasure trove of vintage games, collectible nostalgia, and vintage gaming systems. Super knowledgeable staff who love vintage gaming as much as I do! Bloomington Normal is blessed to have this shop here.
