Fort Jesse Cafe

The minute you walk in you’re greeted by a warm smile. Mountains of delicious food served with fresh hot biscuits designed to be smothered in house made blackberry jam. I really enjoyed my country fried steak with eggs over easy . Great experience, I encourage all to stop in.

This morning I stopped into Fort Jesse Cafe to try their breakfast. I tried the Fort Buster Biscuits & Gravy.
The service was top notch from the moment I walked in the door. The hostess was sweet and friendly. The waitress was super friendly and we even struck up nice conversation.
The time it took to give my waitress my order to the time it was brought to my table was about ten minutes. That's fast!
The food was plentiful and delicious.
I left the restaurant pleasantly stuffed.
Sooooooo good and I am definitely coming back!

I've been following FJC on Facebook for awhile and drooling over their food. Finally, I tried it, and it was fantastic.

I met a friend for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Busy but not crowded or chaotic. Many things on the menu sounded wonderful, but I ended up going with one of the three daily specials. I had the Crawfish Benedict. I have no words really, just incredible. My friend ordered the avocado breakfast sandwich and she loved it. I liked having the option of fruit instead of hash browns.

Our food came out in a timely manner. Our server was attentive, friendly and easily answered any question we had.
This will be a regular place for me from now on!

If I could I would leave 10 stars. The food was amazing, the ambiance was nice and the service was ABSOLUTING PERFECT. Everybody was so nice and attentive. I’m defenetly coming back.

I absolutely LOVE this cafe. It's small so call early for reservations. Food has a southern vibe that is so tasty. Being a seafood lover. I get meals with shrimp because the chef knows how to cook them properly!! Never had a tough shrimp and I've been going there since they opened. Check the menu to see if their food is appealing to you. Not fancy. It's oh, so tasty.

The best breakfast place in town. Every dish is top-notch and creative. I always have to try the specials because they are so unique. The chicken and waffles is fantastic, as is the Benedict! The speciality coffees are fun!

Had a wonderful time meeting some old friends here for breakfast. They have such an array of menu choices (stuff you normally can't get around this city) and my eggs benedict with fruit bowl were amazing!!!

Great little breakfast spot! Nice atmosphere, coffee and eggs benedict were awesome. Our server was personable, food came out at a quick clip during our 7a reservation. And pretty progressive setup with QR code menus and pay by phone for easy splitting and paying of the bill.

Stopped in during a road trip and was not disappointed! Tasty food, friendly staff. Can't ask for much more than that when you're on the road.

One of the best restaurants in the area. The food is consistently good. I love the chicken and waffles, the skillets, and the brekkie sandwich. My husband gets the shrimp and grits. The lunch options are equally amazing. And the appetizers. Cheese balls...mmmm. Everything I've ever tried has made me crave it for a future visit. It's unlike any other place in town. My ONLY complaint... is that I wish they had a 2nd location or extended hours. I love breakfast all day.

I can honestly see why you need a reservation or they'll be a wait time. This place was homey and had the best eggs benny I've ever had. I usually don't like mixing sweet and savory but they absolutely Nailed it.

We LOVE Fort Jesse! This is by far a family favorite in the BloNo area. The food is made with love and Tasha is always attentive! (I’m sure the others too but we always get Tasha!)

The coffee is strong and fresh, the mochas aren’t overly sweet, the lemonade is homemade and the food is incredible.

For sweet, savory and unique- try the Chicken and Waffles Benedict. The general Tso’s lunch sandwich is also incredible! We love coming here :)

I had breakfast here with a friend, I have been there multiple times now. Each time the food has been high quality and the service has been great. Has an old school cafe feel with a bit of new school twist (the menu). The only suggestion would be if you go during brunch hours on the weekend be prepared to wait there is not a lot of seating for a very popular place.

Omg this place was amazing. We didn't even think to get reservations and we're a little surprised when the hostess asked since it was 10 on a Monday morning, but that place was busy the whole time we were there. We got seated immediately, but I'd still def suggest reservations. My biscuit and chicken sandwich was so good. Everyone's food was amazing and perfectly cooked to order. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pics are the chicken and waffle, chicken and waffle Benedict, and two pics of my chicken and biscuit sandwich.

The customer service was some of the best we ever had. The biscuits are incredible. Love the coffee cups and overall atmosphere. Highly recommend!

How. Is. This. Place. So. Good?! There food is so consistently good!!! If I could take this place with my back home in Michigan I would! The waffles are a MUST. Also I’ve never had hash browns so good!

Great little place for breakfast. It’s kind of small and we had to wait to be seated but the food was worth the wait. They have unique combinations. I had the skillet of the day, the Happy Hollandaise Skillet… it was amazing! Sweet potato’s, sage sausage, broccoli, cheese curds eggs and onion topped off with hollandaise sauce. So good.

Back at it again! Absolutely love this place, the service, the food, on and on!!! Mixed it up this time! My wife got the chicken and waffles! The syrup, butter, and all the flavors that go on the chicken bring you straight to flavor town! My mother in law got the GLUTEN FREE cornmeal pancakes and said that it was a flavor explosion! Also... we had a reservation and had a bit of a wait (which was not proble) but fort jesse hooked us up with a surpirse cinnamon roll. NEXT LEVEL! Don't miss out on this place if you are in Bloomington-Normal!

Another Great Experience at Fort Jesse Cafe today! Great food and great service! Best Breakfast spot in the Bloomington-Normal area in my humble opinion! Potentially best resturant period! Always an awesome meal whether you dine in or get take-out! If you are vegetarian/vegan I highly recommend the Southwest Tofu skillet. Out of this world good!
