Walgreens

This is my 2nd edited review, and 3rd review, on this Walgreens. I am really strongly starting to feel that, this is 'My Walgreens' and I feel most comfortable here, as most of the employees in the pharmacy now know me for just over a year now!! I moved from Portland, to South Portland, and finally found my home in Westbrook!! I have stuck with this Walgreens through rough times, when I had issues with certain "pharm techs" and even when it was difficult to get there by bus. But, I really do like the pharmacists, that know me by name and care about my wellbeing. That shows me that this pharmacy does care about me. And, I'm not just a face in the crowd to them. As, well as the employees in the store, that have gotten to know me, and one lady there is so nice and understanding. I was going to try the Westbrook Walgreens (just because it's within walking distance), but my Husband had problems with the pharmacist guy there, that was being a complete
🫏#ole!! So, my boyfriend had his meds sent over to THIS, Forest Ave Walgreens, that we've been using for the past 15 months. They filled his prescription right away, as it was due then. They are always kind to me. The only area, I still experience, that could use some work, is the answering of phones. I call the pharmacy, to speak with someone, at least 2 times a month, and it can be frustrating at times. I was past the initial hold music, and the phone was actually ringing. I was then put onto another hold music session, because the phone had actually rung for the pharmacy, and they put the phone on hold. I waited.... it rang again, and I was put onto hold again, immediately. I waited, again..... and the phone started ringing again. I was "wishful" that they would pick it up this time. But, nobody picked up the phone. This time, instead of going back to the hold music, it just hung up. And, this had happened to me, in the past, quite a few times. I think there may be a glitch in the phone system. 🤷‍♀ But, aside from that, this is my go-to Walgreens and this is my "Walgreens Home", now!!!🏡 🩷🩷🩷

I'm grateful that this pharmacy got my medications transferred from another Walgreens much faster than I was told. They were very busy, and I appreciate that they were open on the weekends. It only took a half hour from making the call to picking up the meds, yet most of that time was waiting in the phone queue, which is not the fault of the pharmacist or technicians. It is Walgreens fault for understaffing. I appreciate the people, but not the corporation.

I've been using this Walgreens since I moved to Portland in fall 2017, and have been consistently impressed and grateful for the service provided by the incredible staff in all sections of the store. I've dealt most often with the pharmacy staff, who never fail to help me with any issues ranging from medication questions, insurance issues, etc., and who are ALWAYS on their game and provide the most amazing customer service. I look forward to seeing them each time I go in, and they go above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer.

I knew as soon as a duck walked out of a bush and the bush exploded into flames outside of this Walgreens that it was the best place in the world (Yes this actually happened)
