My review is solely on the store bought sushi. It's made fresh at around 10:30am. Their prices for sushi are very reasonable compared to most things in this store. If you don't have time to get sushi at some fancy location, swing by here and get some. It will taste better than most places, except Mitsuwa of course. The sushi pictured cost around 11.95.

I was there in September and I just wanted to buy some Beer. So I`m german and I had no idea about american beer, I always thought american has to be flavoride like dog pee. So I bought any american beer youngling or somethin, I could bought warsteiner but thats what I know from germany and I wanted to taste something new. Thats why I grabed the youngling sixpack and went to the check out. I had a conversation about american beer with the cashier and he sayed youngling is his favorite beer. And what can I say? It was my beer for the rest of my trip to the USA, best beer you have overthere not that good like my favrite Beer from my Hometown Bremen Haake Beck but very good. The store is expensive like everything in New York but I think more friendly like the others.

Just the right selection here! We picked up a pack of Black and Tans to go with our dinner, and the located of Gristedes was on point for us!

Coming from out of town (Maryland) and this was my 2nd time visiting this store in a week. The store was clean. Great customer service. I even saw the manager out on the floor working. Everyone including the manager was friendly. Crystal at the register was very helpful and polite. She remembered me from my first visit when I checked out at a different register. Josh from the deli counter, not only did he make good suggestions on what items to try, but he saw I needed help getting a Lyft. He was on a break and took the time to stay with me until my Lyft arrived and he put my groceries in the trunk of the Lyft. I will never forget such kind and friendly people.

An old time favorite. Coming back to NY I was delighted to find hard rolls. Something I couldn't get in Florida nor Suffolk County NY.
The manager is a caring community leader. He runs a tight ship since the store is bright and super clean.

I switched to this store from Whole Foods. This place is so much more quiet. Don’t need to worry about that you’re in others way. Always able to take your time while shopping here

Great supermarket and if you want discounts you should use their coupon card. You collect points on this card whenever you shop at this store.

We went to this store last Saturday to buy foods and other things in preparation for my daughter's birthday. The workers at this location were so accommodating that we were able to shop there on a regular basis. All was in order!

The store was just remodeled in January of 2019, so everything is brand new. Aisles are organized well and the store is laid out logically. The range of food from cheap store brands to organic top shelf stuff is better than most NYC grocers. Say hi to my friend Patty the cashier!

2021 Fall. Picked up some food for a picnic in central park. Fresh yummy sushi $6.95 Seaweed salad $4.95.

What I love best about Gristedes is that it's never crowded. It's great to be able to go in, get what you need and leave within a decent time range.

Recently renovated and it's how it should've been all these years! Seriously. This is the first year they've had a convenient eating area with chairs.

Clean, produce is fresh, has a variety of choices for every nationality and the cashier and deli lady are very pleasant and helpful.

Had my birthday cake from here, loved it.

Friendly employees, and the woman at the counter was very helpful in finding some Tylenol for me when I couldn't find it myself.
