Cellar Door Bookstore

This was my first visit to the new location and I had to write a review. This is everything I want from my neighborhood bookstore. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. If you have an obscure interest you'll especially ❤ this place because of how helpful they are.The space is cozy and inviting. I can't wait to go back when I have time to hang out. Let's support this place folks!!

Wonderful inclusive environment with an awesome selection of books. The folks who work there are so knowledgeable and obviously love reading and sharing their experience with others. I was looking for two hard to find Tasha Tudor books and came across Cellar Door Books in my search. I had never heard of them before, but took a chance in ordering from them and couldn't be more pleased. Communications were excellent and I received my 2 tiny treasures quickly and in perfect condition, along with a delightful gift. They also sent a pretty bookmark and even gift wrapped my books! I was happy to learn they specialize in Tasha Tudor and also carry other rare books. I couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend this bookstore. It's also nice to do business with fellow New Englander's, and a couple who goes above and beyond for their customers - thank you , John & Jill!

The staff was so incredibly kind and helpful. I wanted a few books they didn’t have in stock and they ordered them for me to pick up later, and recommended a few that matched with those genres. Can’t wait to come back. 💙

I love the new location!!!! Bought some puppets, stickers, and had to promise to bring back my 13 year old on payday so she could get a few more titles. <3 excited to come back for more recommendations and the absolutely lovely service.

Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the books they have. Lots of categories and unique genres. Would like to see more omnibus style graphic novels of marvel and image comics though.

This shop has a super friendly and talkative staff, which makes the place feel extremely inviting and safe. The shop isn't too big, but I much prefer it to larger places such as Barnes and Noble as I've found Cellar's selection is much more openly diverse and inclusive, so you will find many great reads that B&N might never offer in store. Make sure to bring a mask when visiting as they still require them for the safety of both staff and customers, which I appreciate. It's an LGBTQ+ welcoming shop that I definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to get your books!

Helpful staff, friendly shop dog. Located a bit behind other shops. Very cute with many diverse books and several book clubs available for people with diverse interests. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I'll definitely be back!

I didn’t know about this bookstore until I met someone that works there. Since then, my experience has been nothing but wonderful every time. All of the workers there are genuine. The store owner always makes sure to be up to date with recent and local books the community will enjoy. They have a vast majority of selection of books to ensure inclusivity and diversity. I often find myself even reading a children’s book. Elisa Thomas, specifically, is an amazing worker there. Her passion for books bleeds through her- you can see it as she speaks upon her favorite book recommendation or author. It’s even better when she loses herself in the conversation and forgets she was helping you check out. Overall, it’s a warm and loving place full of warm and loving individuals. 11/10 , would recommend.

My favorite bookstore i've ever visited. They are so patient and kind when it comes to preorders and online ordering for pick up. A very nice worker went out of their way to order copies of three books from the publisher for me since they didn't have them in store. Above and beyond, so polite every time i've gone in store. I recently had a mishap here where my girlfriend picked up a preorder i had already paid for, but there was a mix up and she had to pay for it herself. When she went back to get it fixed they refunded her for what she paid and offered a discount on our next purchase. Great customer service. I for one actually appreciate their mask policy as well! Im certain they care about health of their workers and customers.

Great reading selection! Great book clubs! Super cute French reading sessions for kids and fun events to get involved in reading together.
Also, the owner is a fabulous entrepreneur and savvy with good reads. You have to meet her. Her dog is adorable, but an introvert.
If they are missing anything you're looking for, they order them for you quickly.

During these times, my wife and I wanted to support an independent bookstore. We looked up to see what was close by, and found this little gem. We ordered Pete Souza's book. Our plan was to pick it up in-store to get a feel of the bookstore.
Linda, the owner (I'm guessing), was so nice and welcoming. We had a great chat with her. She recommended an author/book, which we ended up buying, along with other items (books and a puzzle). Needless to say, our "plan" did not work out, which is a positive for this bookstore. We will definitely be returning customers!! Thanks Linda and Steven!

Best bookstore in Riverside. Staff is knowledgeable and inventory is diverse and inclusive of authors of color, lgbtq+ authors, and other voices that don’t get spotlighted enough.
