The grocery store is ok.. just like most Indian grocery stores, items can be out of date, is generally not clean and pleasant.
However the little restaurant inside serves delicious Indian street food and you have to visit it to experience food you will otherwise not find in traditional Indian restaurants. Highly recommend trying their Vada Pav as its very close to authentic.
My rating is entirely for the restaurant alone.

Looooovvveeeddd this place! We got the pakoras, chicken kebabs, chicken and mutton biriyani along with aloo tiki. Ram is such an amazing cook! We also ordered the Thalapakatti biriyani (takes an hour to make so order ahead). It tasted so authentic! The mutton was so tender and perfectly cooked. It was my birthday so the staff surprised me with a delicious butterscotch cake. We will be back again!

One of the best Indian grocery store in des moines, Iowa. Fresh vegetables are available here on Tuesdays and Fridays. All kinds of Indian vegetables, spices, dals, flours, pickels, snacks, rice varieties, meats, coffee powders and Indian pooja items are available here. You can get frozen vegetables, Coconuts, amla and parotta. They have delicious 😋and hot samosa(sometimes you get buffs). Fantastic biryani is available at the small restaurant inside and some chat dishes are also available. You can get falooda and mango Lassi there. We use to go there once every two weeks.

I prefer this shop for weekly shopping. They have fresh vegetables and all the Indian groceries. I like their hot samosas and sugarcane juice. I used to eat in desi bites last time i ordered dosa and dosa was good but the sambar is expired so I ate with chutneys. Otherwise good shop to go

Our (me & my wife) typical evenings are a hot cup of chai/ coffee and masala vada. I am here 2-3 times a week. Ram is so passionate about his cooking and never lets you leave unsatisfied.

Good food and excellent service. They always give delicious complimentary food. It's clean and organized ,with helpful staff around.

Our go to for Indian takeout. As a well practiced curry eater, I can honestly say this place is right up there with the best.

Everything for Indians was available, right from Woodward gripe water to Pooja articles, Lijjat, Haldiram products, ready-made packs of South Indian dishes.

Konark Grocers is the best Indian grocery store near by. Staffs here are very helpful. They also have Biriyani and some other Indian dishes.

It is the best place to get indian food in Des Moines.They also serve some Indian snacks and biryani.

Visited Konark for the first time today. Wow, what a great market. Lots of rice, grain and bean choices...the best we've found in metro Des Moines. So many great healthy options to choose from. A wonderful shopping experience.

I really love the food at Desi bites cafe especially biryanis and the chicken starters are amazing with reasonable price. Best food in Des Moines. Very friendly staff at the kitchen and the counter. They always suggest to try “ Today’s special item” and we were never disappointed.Best place for Indian snacks and sweets. My wife loves samosa they are always fresh and tastes great. I’ll definitely recommend this place to try .

Amazing and tasty food is available here. We can get special varieties of food during festival season.

I have tried food at Desi bites Des Moines quite a few times and food has been always great. I am impressed with the food quality, varieties, taste and lastly but not the least their service. My most favorite is chicken and goat biryani and the chef never disappointed me. I would go there again and again and enjoy the delicious food.

The Biryani was amazingly good and delicious. We asked for a sample before buying it and they were happy to oblige and give us a taste.

They also got other food items which were made fresh to order.

They mostly have good stock of snacks, frozen parathas, sweets. They also have decent fresh Indian vegetables. The biryani and other deli items are also good. Staff and owners are helpful.

Lots to choose from. Clean and well arranged store. Love the restaurant in the store. Food is so good especially the biriyani. Great customer service.
