amazing local hardware store! the owner is very friendly. i needed a screw to fix something and he personally helped us pick out the right size, and then told us to just take it for free in case the size didn’t work out (the screw he picked was a perfect match). i definitely recommend shopping here — the store has everything you could possibly need, even beyond hardware 👍

Very quick service. I got my duplicate keys made here. Reached just half an hour before closing time and I was out of the store in 5 minutes. I also called before going to confirm they make duplicate keys or not. Great Service. Thanks.

Stopped by Amar’s shop for a few items. I was most impressed by the entrance. There are plants and hand-crafted tree-stump planters along the sidewalk. You can tell that Amar cares deeply about the community and keeping the neighborhood beautiful. We will be back!

The guy that owns this place is super nice. Plus there’s a cat in the window. Sometimes definitely will come back here instead of going to ace hardware.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 8 years and this hardware store has always been a nice to have, but after Ammar has taken over, this will be my go to place even after the fact that we just moved. He has totally transformed this place. Nice, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile.

I can't say enough good things about Zanga Zanga Hardware (formerly known as Pacific Heights Hardware). The proprietor, Ammar Swalim, is knowledgeable, helpful and personable. His store is well stocked with good quality products. If he doesn't have it, he can get it. Plus, he plays good music - not just random pop vocals sung by wailing women and miserable men. Zanga Zanga Hardware is a great addition to the neighborhood.

It's one of those wonderful hardware stores were there are still elements from bygone eras like machine screws and a wide selection of drills and taps. Conveniently located on California Street near Divisadero.

Friendly, convenient neighborhood hardware store. I had a plugged bathroom sink and I bought a 25 foot snake. “Pistol grip drain auger.”

The manager is always on hand and can find whatever you need.

I can’t believe how much this store changed since the new owner took over they almost have everything u need and open seven days a week and they have great customer service the bald headed guy is very helpful you should check it out

This place is fantastic. Used to be closed all the time but under the new owners it’s open 7 days a week. So convenient for grabbing odds and ends.

Well stocked local hardware store

Never had an issue with this place, but I visited today and it's like a completely different experience. Smelled heavily of it smoke as soon as I walked in. Person behind counter, when I asked if the one 6" circular saw blade was the only one in stock, went on a tirade about not having any inventory, and that they were going to close the store because "not enough customers". I found it strange that he would complain to a paying customer about not having enough paying customers. I didn't know if he meant he was just going to close early today or just close the store in general because not enough business. I hope what I experienced today was not typical. It certainly isn't what I experienced years ago when I used to frequent this store.

Very rude staff and limited selection. Will not be going back.
