I was on a quest to restore several antique brass sconces and the bolt/washer/nut/anchor/cap combo I needed to secure the tops of the fixtures simply didn't exist. The folks at Freret took the time to help me try to figure out a way to make it happen and we eventually cobbled something together that was both super-affordable and works. Hung up the fixtures today and they look amazing! Try to support this store and other small businesses like it in your community whenever you can because being able to walk into a place, get help instantly, and buy small lots of small pieces is a valuable community asset and a disappearing trend. This place is like a magical hobbit hole full of anything and everything you need. But the best part is the staff, who are always going the extra mile to help you tackle whatever project you have. Whether you’re hunting for a hard to find replacement part for a claw foot tub, you need paint, or have a dangling license plate…these are the folks you want to have by your side! Prices are good but the service is priceless.

Love this store. They have everything you need for fixing old and new houses - plumbing, electrical, fasteners, you name it. You may not be able to find it, but they can! Very helpful. Easy in - easy out.

Freret Hardware always seems to have the items I am looking for . The staff are ready, willing, and able to help find what I need. So glad I live close to this old-school establishment. I have enjoyed being a customer of theirs since the mid seventies.

I’ve bought from them before, but I needed someone to take an axe handle I bought, mill down the end to fit in one of my old blades, and install it. Mistakenly, I purchased the handle somewhere else, but they took it in and fixed it up by lunchtime the following day. They were really cool about it and refused to let me pay for the service. If I need so much as a thumbtack from now on, it’s Freret Hardware or do without.

Love these guys. When doing smaller sized gas jobs I would buy my iron pipe from my plumbing supply house and bring it to them to have it threaded. Never got a bad measurement nor bad thread.

I always went to the big home improvement stores thinking that they had everything. The problem these days is that at most of these places the employees dont really care as much anymore.

When you pay a visit to Freret Hardware things are a bit different! The staff there is very knowledgeable and take enough time to actually show you exactly where things are located and answer any questions you might have. This is very important to me and my coworkers. I will continue to shop all my supplies at Freret Street Hardware! Thanks to the entire staff for being who you are!!!
