This store has so much to offer. Board games, toys for kids of all ages, and an arcade in the back for parties or a great outing on a rainy afternoon. Go check it out and add some fun to your life!

We came in around Thanksgiving for some gift ideas and the selection at Play Favorites was fantastic! There was a great selection of board games and puzzles, Bret and Hannah answered our many questions and gave wonderful recommendations based on previous games that we had liked. They have carefully chosen every piece in the store, and Hannah even makes fun and adorable jewelry that's on sale. I peaked into the arcade and it looked like a lot of fun, you can even play for a free 10 minutes on Street Fighter. We were shopping for gifts for very young kids, ages 1-2, and they pointed us towards some age appropriate and well liked books and toys for little ones. Play Favorites is exactly what you need in a toy store: a great selection, knowledgeable and passionate owners, and most importantly FUN! They are a wonderful addition to the retail community in Front Royal.

I don't write many reviews and didn't realize I didn't write one for this place. Play Favorites is the go to store for games and toys. My kids can't get enough of this place. They love going there to hang out on game nights and play at the arcade. Bret, Hannah, and Lee are the best and I would urge everyone to visit there at least once.

Love this store. Stopped in to find some fun and educational toys for the grandchildren the week before Christmas.
There were people in and out but it was never hectic.
Mike walked us through age- and interest-appropriate toys and answered all of our questions.
We found lots of great options, and Mike's depth of knowledge made the whole thing easy and even relaxing.
We got a cool fold out dinosaur timeline book and a machine building set, plus drawing kits and purely fun stuff. He has a mix of old standards and fun brain teasers and novelties.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A wonderful little shop in Front Royal. My kids LOVE visiting here. There is a game room in the back, but also the selection of toys is fabulous. They carry a variety of items, something for everyone.

This place is great! I went there with my kids and they had a great time playing with the train station while I was choosing a Christmas gift. People who work there love their job, they helped me pack the gift without kids noticing. No fussing from the kids and happy momma. Definitely coming back!

Hidden gem! The staff is knowledgeable, I have gone it many times and said I want to spend $30 on an 8 yr old boy and they steer me in the right direction. They have toys you don't see everywhere, competively priced. The game room in the back is also a favorite of my kids!

This is the funnest toy store. There are so many hands on games you can try out before you buy. There's a knowledgeable & friendly staff who knows about all the toys and new releases. Plus there's an amazing game room in back to play in or rent for a party.

Friendly, welcoming. Came in to browse but ended up buying, and having a ton of fun with my purpose. Cool arcade too, something for everybody. Will come back when back in town.

My wife and I try to always visit local game stores when we travel. We try to find a game we do not have that we can add to our collection and to help support the Friendly Local Game Store and for sure help keep them going over the big box stores.

Well let me tell you, this one is a true gem!!!!

We had just finished a VERY late lunch down on the old town strip. Very nice area and you should not miss it if you’re from out of town. We drove over knowing we may miss the shop hours.

The lady was pulling in the items from the sidewalk and we asked if we had time to stop in since it was like 5 Minutes to close. She was very hospitable; we parked and made a B-line to the board game space. They had a lot of other things but I did not take note as our time was limited and I did not want to take the kindness of the lady for granted.

They had a wide variety of boardgames. Heavy games to light games. The lady at the shop was very engaging and VERY knowledgeable on the different types of games. I have over 600 games and I was able to find games here that I did not have and was interested in picking up. I had a few marked on my wish list to check out and her knowledge while talking to my wife and I enabled us to make informed choices. While our goal was to pick up a game, we left with more than one. We even got one to the table that night at the hotel! So much fun, games can be so enjoyable!

She stayed open longer than the 5 minutes and remained engaged. Another customer came in while we were looking at the options and they were provided assistance and walked out with a game as well.

My wife took a peek into the party room while I was checking out and she said it looks like a great place for a Birthday Party or other event. I wish I had more time to look though more than just the board games they had in stock.

I did read they host game nights on different nights. If you are local, you should check them out!!

This was a much better experience then we had just down the road at the game store in Riverton Commons.

This is absolutely one of my favorite places to take my family or go on a date in Front Royal. The arcade is our favorite but we also love to buy here to support a small business (prices are the same as or cheaper than big box stores and online retailers.) All in all a great atmosphere and the perfect place for a date, family outing, or gift.

We love Play Favorites. It’s clean, cheery and stocked to the brim with toys, games and puzzles for all ages. We haven’t utilized the game room in the back- yet. It looks so fun with lots of arcade classics. It’s absolutely affordable, too. I’ve been in the store a few times and couldn’t be more pleased. When my son expressed interest in a marble tube set for his birthday, the owner (I believe) explained the toy to my son and he was sold! He hasn’t stopped playing with it since we brought it home.

They also have gift wrap available.

The best little toy store around! They offer a lot of activities and events for kids and adults. The nicest people and very helpful. Always new things to buy. I'm happy they are in Front Royal.

Friendly staff, willing to go the extra mile to show you how toys work and make suggestions. There is a variety of toys, for all ages. Beautiful puzzles, games for the whole family. There is a back room with games and toys for children that can be rented for a small fee.
Very good experience with customer service! You will not be disappointed.

Play Favorites is my favorite toy store ever! I was visiting Front Royal and what a great joy it was to find a real live toy store. It’s bright, well stocked, customer friendly and best of all, has fantastic customer service. Mike was able and willing to answer all my questions. I bought craft kids for myself and knickknacks for my grandkids. Plus, I stocked up on cute birthday cards. I hope I’ll have an excuse to return, soon!

Great store with a wonderful variety of toys and games and lots of other items too numerous to list. There is also a game room with lots of different games to play. There is a small fee per hour to play. Come in as a family and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I visited last week in search of a date night game. Mike was extremely helpful! He recommended several different games with a brief overview of each. We ended up visiting again a few days later with our kids.

This place is awesome and has stuff for all ages. He hosted a free autism game night which was so much fun. Of course we couldn't leave without buying the game we played!

Amazing store! So unique, and enjoyable for all ages. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, we will definitely be back soon!
