Hampton Inn Front Royal

We stayed 3 nights with our pups and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is right off the highway, 5 minutes from skyline drive, restaurants, groceries, and just about anything you could need, while also being set back far enough that you don't feel like you're standing in the middle of all that as soon as you step outside. There is also a large grassy hill with steps on the backside of the property that ends at a small creek. very peaceful and a pleasant place to take the dogs out. I noticed they had fresh landscaping and stonework done in this area as well.

Inside the hotel you can clearly see they are currently at work renovating a large number of the rooms. As a result there was a large amount of construction material and equipment on site, but it was all located in the back and out of the way. The pool is out of commission currently as it appears to be in use for storage, but that's understandable. My daughter would have loved to use it on the rainy day we were stuck inside but she said that's the price you pay for progress and kept her chin up.

The room is your standard chain hotel room, we had 2 queen beds, desk, tv, fridge, tv with cable & hbo, free wifi if you join hilton honors (also free), and the standard soaps and washes in the bathroom. Everything was pretty standard but very neat and clean, and we had plenty of towels which is always a plus.

The one thing that really stood out to our whole family was how genuinely nice the entire staff was. We were there over 4 days so we talked to loads of housekeeping, front desk, and even maintenance staff, and everyone we interacted with was always friendly. The woman managing the breakfast spread even made a few fresh links when she noticed our kiddo eyeing the empty tray, even though it was close to closing.

We found our stay to be a very good value and coupling that with the friendly staff and obvious investment in the property by the owners, we will be sure to be back the next time we visit front royal.

Exactly what my kids and I needed. The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, the free wi-fi worked great ... the free breakfast was delicious.

The hotel is right off 66 and is easy to get to. There are numerous restaurants and shopping centers within a few minutes drive.

As of November 11, 2023, they were doing some construction on the entrance to the hotel, and there were signs posted all around about the construction, but this didn't affect our stay at all.

Again, this was exactly what we needed.

Really good stay. Probably the best of the 4 Hampton Inns that I stayed at back-to-back. The service was fast and friendly. The room was clean and spacious, I had all the towels and soaps I could ever need. The internet was fast and connected easily. The breakfast was what I came to expect, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The sound barrier from the door was still a problem, but I came to get used to it. The hotel was just north of Front Royal, and it was a pretty convenient drive to the north entrance of Shenandoah National Park. I don't really have any complaints. It's important to note that there was construction being done on the hotel, but the workers were never in our way, and I never even heard them working from my room.

I went to a conference to volunteer. The Hotel was very pleasent neat and clean. My stay was great I couldn't ask for more. I had one problem no pool it was under construction at the hotel. This was disappointing for me when I booked months ago for the conference the pool was in service. I know its a busy time but I was disappointed at the cost at $196 and $188 for another night. When I checked online later just before we arrived it was a different cost. I wish we could have gotten a discount further from that.

Our visit was for a weekend getaway to see friends. When we first arrived, we noticed the hotel was under renovation. We were concerned. There was absolutely not reason for concern. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good and a nice variety from day to day. The location is perfect and easy access. I will definitely be staying here again!

We always stay here on our way to the Outer Banks. The staff is helpful and the breakfast is pretty good. Even during their refurbishment project, it was still a nice stay.

I recently stayed here while visiting Shenandoah NP. The hotel is under construction during the week. I did not hear any construction during my stay there. I was out most of the day. It is about a 15 minute drive to the north entrance of Shenandoah NP. You travel through historic Front Royal to get there from the hotel.There are plenty of spots to go to if you need essentials. Target, Walmart and Lowes for example are right up the road. There is a gas station right next to the hotel. The McDonald's next to it is currently closed for renovations but there is a cracker barrel and other places to eat close by.
The room was clean and the temperature controls worked well. There is enough parking at the hotel. I stayed in room 120 which is at the end of the hallway on the first floor. It was perfect. 2 queen size beds. Quiet and secure. The room had a small refrigerator. The staff was very helpful during my stay including the kitchen staff. Breakfast was a typical hilton brand breakfast. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, bread, yogurt, oatmeal, cereals and waffles. Coffee and tea are available throughout your stay.
I traveled solo and felt safe in the area I was. I highly suggest staying here while in the Front Royal area.

The service was fantastic, especially the ladies serving the delicious breakfast. The room was immaculate, it just needs proper ventilation for the shower and jacuzzi. It didn't smell bad, it just didn't have that fantastic hotel smell in the room. The hallway did though.

The only thing I didn't like is that there were some shady characters hanging around. People were working on their cars in the parking lot. Nobody bothered us. It just seemed odd.

That all being said, I would definitely go back.

We stayed here for a long weekend over Memorial Day and couldn’t have picked a better hotel. It’s right off the interstate, but tucked back so it’s still nice and quiet at night. You’re also less than 15 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah. Downtown front Royal is less than 10 minutes away with some amazing food and breweries to enjoy. Breakfast everyday was hot, fresh, and constantly being replenished with people coming around to see if you needed anything. Front desk agents were helpful when I had issues with my digital key and worked to make sure it would work. Rooms are clean, beds ate comfortable, and we will absolutely stay here again when we come to hike.

Some of the friendliest hotel staff we've ever met and the breakfast was great

The rooms were very clean. It was a spacious king suite. The mattress on the sofa bed had hard springs, but not surprising. Our kids four and six years old slept hard on it regardless. The crib was a bit small for our 10 month old who likes to roll around but he could sleep between us on the king-size bed easily. The pool was pretty cool recorded at 76°. Once we got in swimming around, we got used to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was great! Overall a great stay.

I am a construction contractor and I often billet my crews at this hotel. They always enjoy staying at the hampton inn in front royal. I enjoy working with the manager, Leslie Sharp. She is an absolute pleasure to work with......very accommodating, professional and friendly. Thank you Leslie for your outstanding customer service!!!

Very clean, quite, good breakfast and very conveniently located. What sets this hotel apart from others is the staff. All of them are very friendly and very helpful. They all made sure to welcome me when I came in, said good morning when I got breakfast, and told me to have a good day when I left. I travel for work six months a year so I stay in a lot of hotels and this is one of the best and for sure the nicest staff.

Rooms were very clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful with directions & questions. McDonalds is in the same parking lot, but they are closed for some reason. Pool (in the hotel) was closed also.

Hampton Inns are consistently good and Front Royal is no exception. Sunday evening check in with Nikki went well. Heading out early Monday Elizabeth was very pleasant at the front desk and Dana was a gem in the breakfast area. The hotel was clean. These three ladies were the only souls we interacted with. They were terrific.

I always stay at this location when I travel this way. It's so convenient from the interstate and the rooms are very clean and comfortable and there are plenty of local restaurants to choose from. I always choose a Hampton Inn when possible when traveling, as I haven't been disappointed yet.

Great hotel! Just a note that they are renovating the outside but there was no noise at all until about 10am, so it wasn't an issue at all.
