Spice & Tea Merchants

Spice & Tea Merchants is like the Willy Wonka of tea stores. This location is my go-to as it’s convenient, in a cute area, and the people are very nice and helpful. I never feel unwelcome while searching for teas, and there are dozens and dozens of them to pore through. They also have spices and oils that I’ve tried and are a good quality.

This is a good place to go for gifts and if you are a tea person who wants to try something new. I was introduced to butterfly pea flower tea here which is now my favorite, and I love the cinnamon tea! Each location has their own little blends and this place makes it fun. I’ve had their “Avatar Last Airbender” blends and it was so cute.

I highly recommend this place for if you want some things to relax or if you need a gift for someone and you’re not sure what to get. It’s a cozy time in here!

I love Japanese teas especially Kyoto rice tea 🍵 and Hojicha , Kyoto cherry tea are my favorites .

Good service, friendly people. They had an amazing variety of not only spices but also tea cups and gadgets. Not only that but it all went together aesthetically, all of their products looked good in their shop. So you can bet that it looks good anywhere else. Overall, their products are quality, I choose this shop over any other. That being said I will say their decaf products aren’t the best, and I would go to another store for any decaf products.

I stopped in to Spice Merchants today to pick up a gift for a friend who likes to cook. My girlfriends and I had so much fun browsing all of the spices, teas, and oils.
It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to take home and when I finally did, the owner made our check out cheerful! He wrapped my gift for me, taking special care to remove price tags and picking colors my friend is sure to love.
Shopping local was so much fun at Spice Merchants. I will definitely be back!

I absolutely enjoy coming to this store. I have been shopping here for years. The store is quite charming. The staff is very helpful. Owner is friendly and also very helpful.

I had such a wonderful experience in the shop the other day. It was my first time visiting. I was unsure what sort of teas (herbal, green, or black) or flavors I wanted. With just the thought of what I wanted in my head, a worker named Kat helped me figure out what exactly I wanted. She seemed very well educated on the teas and knew what I wanted, just by me listing the ideas that I had! I will be coming back to this store for my future tea and spice needs!

We love this shop. They have every kind of tea or spice you are looking for. Friendly staff, cute atmosphere, and great products! It's our one "must stop" place whenever we are in Northville.

Visited this shop on a vacation and loved it so much I have been ordering loose leaf teas and spices from them since. The owners are great and will help identify which teas match flavor profiles of larger mass market tea makers that I like and Spice and Tea Merchants are so much better! My teenage daughter LOVES their vanilla black tea and the Green Citrus. I love the Earl Grey Decaf. Highly recommend visiting this store!

As a novice chef and tea connoisseur, I can confidently say that this shop is a dream. I have had the pleasure of stopping by the new Main Street location quite a few times and the atmosphere is always charming. This store houses a tantalizing variety of spices and teas (and much more!), about which the owners and employees were very knowledgeable. Even amid COVID restrictions, I felt both safe and welcome as the store was very clean and masks were worn properly by staff. I particularly love the window displays—the seasonal decorations are a must see tribute to time and artistry. Will be back again!

I went here looking for loose leaf tea and was very happy. The selection is extensive and the staff is very helpful. They have a great selection of brewing options available for purchase also. The other half of the store is spices and they have a great selection there also without overloading you senses. Highly recommended for teas and spices.

Wonderful shop. Huge wall of tea options, accessories, and my favorite bonus is their olive oil and balsamic collection. We’re so fortunate to have a shop like this locally.

Incredible small business owned by a wonderful Texan/Michigander duo. I've been involved with this business, both professionally and personally, for almost 7 years now. Even with everything going on, they were able to move to a bigger and better shop last summer from Center to Main Street - if there is any time to support this business, it's now.

An addition, after seeing some of these other reviews to provide my perspective: the owners (especially Chris Raymond) have taken COVID very seriously. Every time I have been in there this last year everyone has kept their distance, worn masks over their nose and mouth, and followed store-specific guidelines (like not opening the jars). Just saying!

Lots and lots of spices in bulk. They have a huge selection of teas. They also carry oils and vinegars. I sniffed the devils dust...bad idea. It made me cough for about an hour. Lol

Ingredients in some things don't seem to be shown. Anything organic? Are there fillers in stuff like the vanilla powder? I would like some more info...but I'll be back here for sure.

Quaint little place in downtown Northville. Not only do they have any spice you can think of, but also amazing spice blends. A large variety of delicious loose leaf teas and accessories as well. I am obsessed with their Tuscan blend as a dry rub for chicken, and the Southwest blend for making fajitas.
