Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

Very nice and clean airport with a lot of options. I was impressed when I saw the train that’s actually inside the terminal. Don’t think the other terminals are as nice but deltas terminal in A is very nice

Recently rated the best airport (in the largest category) in the country. I've been through here several times before and it's one of my favorites to connect through. Very clean and up-to-date, easy to navigate, typically not too crowded. The McNamara terminal is a mile long, so there is an air train that runs nearly the full length. And it's quiet, too. Several upscale stores near the center and numerous dining options throughout. There was a pianist performing on my most recent visit. If you have a choice of connecting through here, I'd recommend it, although several of Delta's hubs have left positive impressions over the years.

Beautiful, clean, and modern airport. It was not busy at all. Great big windows to watch the planes taking off and the sky. I had such an stress-free flying experience here.

I have never been to DTW airport ever in my life, or anywhere in Michigan for that matter, until recently. My wife and I had layovers at this airport on 7 Feb 2024 and 10 Feb 2024, and I'll say upfront, this airport is surprisingly nice. I had it in my head that this airport would've been dirty and/or have the appearance of falling apart, due to what I've heard and read about this city itself.

During my layovers at this airport, I had the privilege of trying a couple restaurants; one of them is Leo's Coney Island and the other is Chick-fil-A. Although Chick-fil-A is nothing new to me, it's still worth mentioning since I did experience it here at this airport. Also, since my hometown airport is in Las Vegas, I'm accustomed to having slot machines everywhere and having that modern look to the entire airport. It's weird to not have any of that entertainment at DTW, but it was also refreshing because it was a lot quieter at this airport. The tram going back and forth in the Delta terminal was cool to see and I was shocked at how quiet it was while in operation. Overall, this airport is nice - I definitely wouldn't complain down the road if this airport was my layover again in the future...or if this airport was my final destination.

One of the best (if not THE best) airports in North America. Clean, spacious, lots of seating, convenient shuttle train, easy to navigate, etc, etc.
This last trip we were travelling over the holidays, and they had a musician playing a piano near the wonderful water feature. A nice, festive touch.

Even my teenagers commented on what a great airport it is. Well done DTW!

Great airport! I was very impressed by how nice, clean and modern it is. Also people were friendly and nice and I saw plenty of good dinning options, it’s probably one of the nicest ones that I’ve visited in the US.

Very nice architecture, gorgeous calming fountain with great views of planes. The tram is a great to get around the airport quickly if you're pressed for time.

The tunnel looks awesome but sadly it was under renovation when I passed through so it was only working at minimum.

Very cool airport. From my experience this is one of the most efficient airports in the U.S and I have been to over 20 airports. Plenty of variety for airline choices, shopping, food and they even have a spot for military vets to hang for free (if you are a military vet) I love the fountain they have in the main area it’s super pretty. The lights downstairs are also pretty cool especially when I was younger I used to play the little button that made the music go along with the light show which was awesome. Plenty to do with excellent service

The airport is usually clean and very well designed. Usually special events like coke-cola sales and orchestra performances. Deltas terminal is really nice especially their bathrooms since they are very clean, never a line.

It was my first time here in this city and at this airport. Here i found one of the most nicest TSA staff and CBP. They treat you with respect and do their duty ethically. The airport has amazing art inside the building and it is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant’s are pretty decent with nice food.

Pretty good airport, clean and you there was no real waiting to get through security. Spirit is a pretty good airline

Didn't go thru tsa cuz connecting flight so ion know about that. The airport was pretty clean. Super big but the light tunnel and tram are convenient

If you are at terminal A, eat there unless theres a specific restaurant you want in B or C. The mcds in A has a longgggg wait so id avoid that unless you really want mcds.

The airport is well-organized, and you won’t get lost here. It has lots of restaurants, and the restrooms are clean too.

Always good to be home. Nowhere on earth could ever be like Michigan, let alone Motown.. airport is a pain to navigate, and you must shuttle to the car rental places.... Or you end up walking 3.8 miles down the shoulder of the highway... Like I did 🤣

We watched our daughter run the Detroit Free Press Marathon. Not only can that newspaper publish the truth, but it runs an amazingly well organized Marathon. What a great vibe in Detroit!!

Clean and organized with good clear signage. There is a monorail train on the second level between terminal gates. Food is hit or miss based on the traveler's reviews.

LOVE this airport. Detroit gets a bad name because people who aren’t from here don’t really know about real Detroit. This airport is very safe very clean and has alot to offer as far as dining and drinking stores hotels and anything really you could need or want in an airport. Parking and airport itself is pretty large and can be difficult to navigate if you haven’t been here before. Overall a great airport!

We really enjoyed our stay!! Very clean rooms at the Westin.

Nice and clean. Security is always fast and don't have to take electronics out of the backpack here :)
