Great Prices on Some things. I was put out by Only 2 choices for ground Cloves, on tiny container for $8.99 & a 4 inch Spice bottle for $15.99. 😱Cashier was Great & very Helpful.

Because they Respect my Mama 'The Singing Waitress ' On our last visit to Luckys Castro Valley Mama had a Diabetic Episode. Her legs gave out. One kind Lady Employee held Mama up while I ran in the back to find a chair. A chair was found and then a Electric Shopping Cart which she had never tried before. Needless to say a very nice young man helped her get her groove on. Thank you Lucky Employees for helping Chris 'The Singing Waitress ' in her time of need.

This is a great local grocery. Everyone who works there is SO friendly and cheerful, extremely helpful and they remember you. Small town grocery stores NEED to be like this, and it's one of the very few that still care these days. They are my go-to place for that very reason. Their prices are on point, the selection is as one would expect in a small town... not overwhelming, but not missing anything.

I've always felt that you'll know you're in the right store when everything you want is at eye level, and this is that store for me.

Luckys Store is a great place to shop. They always seem to have the product I need for a good price. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The clerks checking me out always make sure I found everything I needed to which I usually say "Yes and more than I originally came in for. It's a friendly store with good products, great prices, and very accommodating staff.

I really enjoy shopping @ this " Lucky " grocery store in Castro Valley. You couldn't get the same good services @ any other around this area. The unexpected sales are always a plus. Also the regular sales they advertise can't be beat. They did most of the work to better the store during slow hours & after hours. Really do appreciate C.V. Lucky.

I don't know what those other reviews were about, but Lucky's in Castro Valley is my store. I get great customer service, and usually what I am looking for is there. I go to Lucky's every other day. Other than one or two people, everyone in that store are courteous, and respectful. From management to whomever...... When I can't go to the store, and my husband goes for me, I am insistent about him going to Lucky's. Not that dang Safeway's across the street.

I have shopped at Lucky's after Albertsons left. I shopped at Raleys before Albertsons. I have not spent a dime with Safeway since 1980. That was when I tried to buy a roll of quarters to do my laundry And checker said no. I complained to the manager, who said, "What are you thinking, Safeway is not a bank." I told her she would lose customer. She said, "That's your choice." I left. I wrote a letter to Safeway telling them of the circumstances and copied the Store Manager. No response. I have not been back.

The Castro Valley Lucky's is pleasant, well stocked with great staff. They are responsive, helpful, cheerful, and understand their customers. It is a lot like a corner grocery.

This is my favorite grocery store. It usually has everything I want.

I always go for the 5 for $5 deal which helps me keep my budget but also stock up. It's one of the beat deals a corporate grocery store provides.

Never took crowded and usually most items are in stock.

Good prices, good service, good selection, good deli. Hamburger clean and safe - goes on sale about 8pm daily to start fresh daily. Decor is less modern than some stores. Several types of carts for people with disabilities. Bank of America Versateller.

I've been avoiding Safeway because Safeway does not seem to care that they never have enough cashiers working. Lucky doesn't seem to have their problem and their prices are comparable. Don't ever go to Safeway if there's a Lucky nearby.

Lovely store. Lots of fresh produce vibrantly green organic produce exceptional Seafood selection. Deli salads always fresh and store made. Love their plants, flowers, orchids and specialty foliage items. Store is clean staff professional and friendly.

The workers here are very sweet and there's a wide variety of items to buy. The vegetables are in a very useful stand that sprays it every once in a while, keeping it fresh and clean!

The Castro Valley Lucky Store is excellent: the selection and prices are very good, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and even their shoppers for home delivery are superb. Definitely my favorite grocery store.

The staff here is so friendly and with great pricing it makes a visit here a no-brainer. Just tried the bbq ribs that they make there last night, so good! We always get a rotisserie chicken to grub and make chicken soup out of. The deli has great salads and pastas. Check this place out! Best one around!

This store has challenges because there is a huge Safeway straight across from it but yet, still this lucky store is always full clean friendly and you will find deals that other stores run out of this store always seems to have and they have extra sales I really love shopping at this store in Castro Valley and everyone is nice...

We live just a few minutes away and shop there almost everyday. Cashiers, Charles and Catherine especially are so knowledgeable and friendly. And Ted, who does most of the outside barbecuing, is awesome and Friendly as well.

Very great and has a lot of choices and is very organized. However it could use a bit more open cashiers to make the checkout process much faster.

I love this store just cause it’s near my house but all in all it is great. Prices are good and when there’s a sale you can find good prices
