I got the Inari sushi (fried chicken) and it was SO delicious and filling, I also got the frozen okonomiyaki and it came out so good after pan frying it.

There's a wide variety of snacks, frozen food, noodles, condiments and raw meat. Everything I bought was decently priced.

The staff there is very nice!

I've been coming to this Japanese mart for years and I don't disappointed with what they have both at the restaurant with dining in area, affordable Japanese takeout food, and the supermarket

When I enter to the market, I can't stop picking the product just one in a basket

Absolutely worth it, the hand rolls were so good, I ordered salmon and tuna/toro, and got chicken karrage and tune onigiri, my boyfriend and I absolutely devoured it and went back the next morning for more. For $5 a hand roll and around $3 an onigiri, great value and coming back for sure

Really cool spot. It has great selection/options. They even have pre packaged meals that are ready to go (in case you are short for time). They also have a desert area . I tried the mango pudding - definitely recommend. I tried the salmon and chicken rice bowl. It was delicious. The portions were pretty big. I think overall you can expect to pay about 12-15 per person here.

Sunrise Mart is my go-to Japanese market. The negitoro (minded tuna) and ebi from the sashimi section are amazing. They also have chopstick and sitting area to eat the food.

Amazing Japanese store with fresh snacks, sweets, sushi and hot food items. 1 side is a grocery store and the other is mostly food to go. They have an upstairs dining area. The staff is really friendly and I loved how fresh the sashimi was. Buttery and tasty! They have fresh toro from Japan as well

Small GEM in Midtown, NYC.

If you are a group of 4-8 ppl, hungry, and looking for a place that is available for a meal in Midtown, You might get it only in your dream.

However, it has existed! Right here at Sunrise Mart. Price is very reasonable, many items, and delicious (De-Li-Cious-Su; Japanese accent, lol)

We had two bowls, 1 was a Grilled salmon with Chicken karaage, it's good but nothing special compared to other places.

The second, which was Gyusuji (Udon with Yam, and Beef stew) I'd say this was my favorite all the time. I must have it when I went to Sunrise Mart especially the one located in Brooklyn (and Brooklyn branch's soup flavor was stronger too) Udon was smooth but firmed, Soup was tasty but not too heavy nor thick. Beef stew might be cut a bit too small but that's ok. having along with a calpico or tea would send me to heaven. lmao.

They have a microwave and restroom (YEAH!)

I believe the best meal here is Gyusuji, and the second was Beef over rice. Don't forget to try it. ARiKaTo!

This wasn't my first time stopping by and surely it's not the last time too. recommended!!!!

Dope market, I wish it wasn't in the cut like that— probably has to do with the rent prices being so high but this is a nice market. They have a restaurant right next door too. I got Tonkotsu Ramen and it was damn good. They have great seating and a nice ambiance, if you have time y'all should check it out.

My new go-to, $3-$4 onigiri and $4 handrolls!! Just note that the cafeteria section closes at 7pm but the market stays open until 8pm!

6/29/23: Handrolls are ~$5 now :( prob bc they got too much hype LOL

Consider this place a hidden gem in midtown! They have a bunch of authentic Japanese food ranging from bentos, hand rolls, sushi, ramen, etc. My bf and I ordered the Negi Toro (fatty tuna), Spicy Salmon, and Eel & avocado handrolls and they made for a great snack for an affordable price of about $15. The hand rolls tasted delicious and the fish was fresh. The highlight of our meal were the red bean mochis. It wasn’t too sweet and the skin was the perfect thickness. Making this place my go to spot for comfort Japanese cuisine!

You'll find most of the essential items from Japan, and occasionally a few Taiwanese products too (though for a wider selection of Taiwanese items, H Mart is your best bet). Regardless, Sunrise has got you covered for all your basic needs. As for the prepared food section, it's decent, but you'll likely be more impressed if you're not familiar with how to cook Japanese cuisine or simply don't have the time to do it yourself.

After the news reported an employee was harassed and assaulted… my family and friends had to support them. It was my first time here. And the employees went above and beyond! The foods were freshly prepared and delicious!

Great shop with great prices for hard to find Asian food items including sushi grade fish and meats, as well as, hard to find items like good Yuzu and La Yu

Love this place!!!! For the kitchen the food is delicious and made in front of you! The onigiri is also huge and is definitely a better deal than other Japanese stores when it is premade for you.

Chain Japanese deli and grocery I would say. Good for quick grab lunches from ramen to bento box to sushi poke bowl. Prices are very reasonable. When I don't have any specific food on my mind I just come here and grab something. Onigiri are really cheap and love their bakery too specially Kosian pan.

I’m insanely overwhelmed whenever I come here bc everything looks so good and I wanna try everything. You really can’t go wrong! It’s so good and pretty affordable compared to other lunch options in the area

One of the best locations of Sunrise Mart chain. They have a small cafe-like area where you can get onigiri ($1.45 & $1.75 w/salmon), noodles, rice w/protein, ramen and other foods; there’s coffee and sweets.
The Mart is small but still has a good variety of snacks, condiments, frozen foods and other stuff.
