The Phoenix

I stopped in for the first time to browse and instead walked out with multiple, complete outfits. That never happens. What a pleasure. I found a blouse, funky jeans, a Micheal Stars tee, a linen dress, a casual blazer and handmade necklace that went with it all. I’m thrilled with my new summer outfits. I was delighted with the selection, the color choices, and the uniqueness of the clothing. Several reviewers complained the clothing is expensive. Well, it is compared to some of the other funky places in Carytown. But all the items I purchased were either handmade or made in America. That doesn’t come cheap. But wow, the quality shines through. Really excited to buy made in America brands and handcrafted items. I am absolutely guaranteed that I will never see another woman in my outfits!

The clothes here are just so great with reasonable prices. I left my camera here and the manager keep it carefully and then returned it to me.

I have loved the Phoenix for years - from watching my mom shop there, to buying my wedding dress from the Phoenix, to making it a destination every time I can when I am in Richmond! It is the perfect place to find something unique and fun to wear everyday or for special occasions.

This store holds many unique treasures that you would not find any other place in RVA. K, the owner, knows her merchandise like she knows her customers. The quality of her clothes are such that I have owned them for years. A little European eclectic flair for all who love to dress their own style. This is a gem of a store to shop in.

I have shopped for my wife at the Phoenix for the past decade. The store has always been unique and friendly to men shopping for their significant other. It is not generally easy or comfortable for men to shop for their wives. Often sales people just ignore you or wonder why are you there? But the owner and staff at the Phoenix have always made me feel comfortable and welcome, spending a lot of time helping me find the perfect items, which I always do. The staff have become like family to me. Now I shop for my daughter in law also. Her co-workers tell her she is lucky to have a father in law with such good taste. It isn't my great taste but theirs, but I'll take the credit. To those who have posted in the past about the staff or the owner being rude I can only say you have terribly misjudged them. Shortly after the death of my son I had no idea how I would buy something for my wife for xmas. But the staff were kind and gentle with me, subtly helping me through a difficult process. The store now holds a special place in my heart.

The store has a welcoming sense of community that has a strong and loyal following where women come from other states to shop at The Phoenix when in town. The Phoenix offers a personalized shopping experience with as much or as little help as you would like with finding just the right piece for any occasion. K, the owner, can tell you the history of the pieces she has in the store, the quality of the workmanship, and the origin of the designer and the clothes. It is obvious her passion for clothing, style, and empowering women to look and feel their best. There is so much to love about The Phoenix, from the beautiful clothes, handmade jewelry, and unique accessories, but also the women who work there who use their expertise to help elevate your style and empower you to look and feel your best. I have been shopping at the Phoenix in Richmond since 2006. I love shopping there and it is the only place I've shopped where you get the experience of having a Personal Shopper like Kay work with you. She is fantastic at always finding exactly what I like and presenting tops, pants, dresses, accessories that I would
never think looked good on me and they do. Go to the Phoenix and you'll never want to shop anywhere else.

Lately I've been in the store on two occasions and had a very good customer experience. I was looking for several special occasion outfits and found a pair of trousers that fit me perfectly- which is hard to do because I am petite. I wasn't sure about the top so I said I'd come back and to my surprise the owner was there and found several perfect tops for different outfits. I recommend Phoenix!

I entered the store, not quite sure what to expect, but the ladies working were able to help me throw together some very fun, and modern pieces to make a very unique outfit!
Their professionalism, and obvious passion for fashion made it a memorable experience!
I look forward to returning to Richmond, and visiting Pheonix again!

I have shopped at The Phoenix for several years. I find those outfits that you love to wear there. The clothes there are stylish and will make you feel wonderful.

I love this store and I always find good things here. Once I changed my mind and decided that I wanted a shirt that I had tried on but not bought after I had returned home out of state. I called them up and it was mailed within a few days. There are alway very current high end brands here and this store seems to get them before the other places.

Phoenix is the best place to go to get personalized help, honest opinions & great suggestions for clothes outside your usual go-to colors & styles. Look like you but even better with Kay, the owner’s, great eye!

I have shopped at The Phoenix for decades! It is my go-to place. I live in New York now, but I haven't found any place there with such interesting pieces.
