Virginia ABC

Had to drive up from Norfolk to purchase Clase Azul for Christmas and New Years. The first location I visited only let me purchase 4 bottles. That was a huge inconvenience for me because they said they had more in stock but the lady working told me that 4 was all they had. That's when I drove across town to this location. The people working were very friendly and helpful. They allowed me to purchase as many bottles as I wanted. I believe it was 10 total. They even helped me get the bottles to my car. My experience at this location was great. Thank you guys for all your help and thank you for making my holidays better by having my favorite tequila in stock!

Store is clean and well organized, staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Not a huge selection of wine if that's your thing but at least as a consequence of that all of them are local wine. Pretty good selection otherwise and I was even able to find some rarer picks.

It's clean, and run well with polite staff. Nice selection of vodka, but I only buy the Titos. But I feel we'd have more options if Virginia didn't hold the monopoly on liquor sales.

Always good experience at this location! What to know:
•This is the largest ABC in Richmond with the best selection of rare and odd liquors and ingredients.
•This is one of the few 'specialty' stores in Virginia
•Opens at 9am (all other ABCs in Richmond open at 10am)
•If you are searching for rare bourbons, expect people to be waiting outside in line up to 1.5 hours before the store opens on truck delivery days (on Friday)
•They are usually allocated more than average number of bottles for bourbon deliveries
•Friendly staff

Nice clean shop and excellent service.

Love the selection. A little confusing to get to. It's located behind the grocery store. I got a whole bunch of stuff I couldn't get back home. The staff also helped carry a box back to my car all the way in the parking lot. I can't recommend enough if you'll be in Richmond.

Came in to buy a couple cases of liquor bottles to mail out as gifts. It's was pretty busy in there but Cody (sp?) was very helpful and sweet, even though I had a lot to ring up and there were a lot of people in line. She even helped me carry all of my boxes out to my car. Excellent customer service from everyone, especially Cody!

Best selection in Central Virginia and the staff were friendly and helpful. I only wish some of these bottles found their way to the West End sometimes.

Since I am almost a teetoler, I needed advice on a drink I was serving guests. The manager was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. He not only made suggestions on what to use, he ran off a recipe for me to follow. The cashier was also a plus. The only complaint would be the parking lot. Its too small. I wonder if Ellewood Thompson doesnt mind while you are shopping there to leave your car there while u run an extra errand at the liquor store. I know the liquor store let me leave my car for a few minutes to pick up limes and lemons.

Good selection and hours, but tiny (six car) parking lot. Got lucky and pulled in as an SUV pulled out ystdy. Staff has always been personable and courteous to me. I recommend walking, cycling, or scootering there as not everyone plays nice in the small parking lot.

Great store - clean, roomy, expansive inventory, friendly staff. Curiously out of stock on a couple of my favs: Casamigos Mezcal, Redbreast 12yr Irish Whiskey.

Absolutely amazing just left I'm not sure the guys name I'll get it next time helped me with a ton of different questions even about a non dairy alternative to eggnog! I dont leave reviews but he was incredibly helpful as well as the rest of the employees!

This must be one of the flagship VA ABC liquor stores. I went here during the summer and bought a liquor made in Virginia, and for that I got a free trucker hat. The hat had the Virginia is for lovers logo on it . The staff here seems very knowledgeable about liquors and we're very helpful and my decision.

Great store layout and nice selection. The parking is a little weird, but that's not unexpected given that it's located in Cary Town.

The best selection of everything at this VA ABC store compared to most. I came for Port Charlotte scotch whisky - 44 ppm peat, Mmmmmm - smokey!

Great service, and great variety of spirits here. I have found some hidden gem allocated bourbons here from time to time after truck day.

Summertime watermelon ciroc set the party off. Plus they have the small bottles for the airplane for $3.

The selection here is great and the staff is always very helpful. This, and the location in the Bottom are the best places to find unusual booze.

This store has an outstanding section of high-end products and many friendly customers who are happy to make recommendations.
