I love supporting local businesses! This was worth it! We got plenty of meat for a good price! Everyone was so welcoming and nice. One of the guys even helped my mom & I carry the box of meat to our car! Definitely going back!!

Edit : Took my husband and he loved it! Johnny was so nice to us!

Would rate this place 5 stars for sure !! We recently started getting lunch/supper there and have always been impressed with the taste of the food as well as the great customer service from all the employees !! But we also decided to order 2 of their meat package deals recently and just want to say their meat taste so much better than the meat we usually get from Walmart/hyvee (in our opinion)

We have definitely recommended these guys to all our local friends and family and will continue to do so !!

I was a first time customer today, and let me tell you, B&B is the real deal.

Right when I walked in, John made me feel like we’d known each other for 20 years. He showed me around, we shared stories, talked about family and food, and laughed.

I went in looking for a nice cut of beef to roast for dinner. John helped me decide on a cut, and then butchered and tied it up for me. He is a master at his craft, and takes pride in everything he does.

Whether I need meat for a big family meal, or I’m hungry for a sandwich, B&B is my new go-to.

We drove up from Texas to visit my wife's dad, who lives just outside the city. I saw this place online and people were saying how good the food was here, as well as their meat selection. We came in for lunch and we were not disappointed. The burger was so good! And they have these fried cheese balls that were amazing.

My experience was Beyond words. The owner and staff treated me as family not a customer. Prices and quality of the meat department are worth the money. I highly recommend.

Wow!!!! What can I say???!!! Not only were the sandwiches absolutely amazing here, but the cuts of meat were fresh and of great quality. In addition, the owner, John is so friendly and helpful.
As first timers to Iowa, we were incredibly impressed with the wonderful hospitality! John even gave us a couple of marrow cuts for our happy dogs.
I would highly recommend this place!!!

John Brooks is a man among man. He knows his meats, he knows his cuts, he is very friendly and he is selling great products. I loved his customer service, his sandwiches are to die for and he treats everyone like family. This is a great store. Third generation butcher.

Incredibly friendly people, great service and the quality of the meat is fantastic! The short ribs I got had so much more meat than other places I've seen them. Can't wait to cook them up for Easter dinner!

One of the best tenderloins I've had. My daughter had the hoagie killer sandwich and it was bomb. Top notch staff and experience. Shoutout to Tony from Knoxville, TN! 5 stars all around

First time at this place after driving by for years. Loved the old fashioned atmosphere, the great food at a fair price, the friendly help behind the counter, and the pretty young lady at the register. Everything was fantastic. If this place had more seating, the place would be full all the time. Highly recommend.

Great people, great food and great atmosphere. Prices are a bit on the high side but thats the trade off you make when supporting a local business over a big corporate store. Will gladly stop here again for my barbecue needs.

this is definitely one of the best and most distinctive small businesses of des moines. i took the time out of my day to write this review just to tell the world how awesome it is. the "killer sandwiches" live up to the name and the people there are great. i've lived all over the USA and i would put this among the best sandwich shops. if i leave the DSM metro area, i'll definitely remember this place

It was my first time visiting this 100 year old well kept secret. Hands down, the best sandwich I have ever enjoyed and the price, only $5.99. Such a vast menu something for everyone. Don't forget to check out the butcher chop... Incredible cuts
