Safeway

I been here three times now, always in the early morning, store always looks clean and i see everyone always working hard. Parking lot was getting cleaned. Today i was getting some salads, it was well stocked and good deals. My experiences at this location had always been great.

This grocery store is still going on strong after all of these years. Since the Capitola and the midtown Santa Cruz Rite Aide went out of business. It's also a misfortune that the Capitola Albertsons went out of business. There's no book that tells anyone how to keep their company from going out of business.

Good daily deals on sticker price, large store with plenty of space.

I called ahead for a product and they had it ready for me and checked out within 2 minutes of my getting there. Truly excellent service! Plus they carried a product that almost no one else does, so that was a big plus too.

Decent grocery store. We were able to get in and out fairly quickly.

Great deals in vodka! The cashiers are nice and friendly. They also have a delicious bakery and sushi bar everyone should try. Try the pork buns!

First time going to this particular Safeway. It is smaller than most but I liked that. Much easier to find things. The employee were very helpful and kind. UPDATE:2/22 Still going to Safeway and find it very convenient. They usually have what I need and am very satisfied.

Actually I'm in the hiring process at Safeway. I interviewed on a Friday morning. Late that afternoon I received a email from Safeway offering me a job in the produce department. I should be starting this week. Stoked !!. I guess the hiring process is more time consuming with a union involved. 2 weeks later , I still don't have a starting date ??? Being patient.The Morrissey store is the smallest Safeway store in Santa Cruz. Still carrying a large variety of products catering to your needs.

i would never have considered to write a review about a corporation, but this safeway was nice. i had 3 items and there was 2 lines. the lines were long but the general manager opened up another line and i think that is something worth mentioning, where the general manager doesn't feel like he's better than a cashier. 5 Stars.

The Morrissey Ave. Safeway is not my usual store. I went there because the Scotts Valley store was closed by Cal Fire along with all other local businesses due to the CZU fire mandatory evacuation. I switched my Just4U card to the new store before going, and that worked perfectly. The store is organized differently from my usual one but had no problem finding everything I needed. At 6:30 am, the store was being actively stocked by staff. Parking lot access is good. Wanted to stock up on food during this uncertain period and was able to get all my favorite stuff and use my rewards card. The checker was efficient and courteous.

Everyone needs groceries and this smaller Safeway somehow has all I need. When lines are long (often when I'm there) they call another checker & get folks through quickly. I've rarely waited over 10 minutes- usually I'm out in less than 5. The butcher/meat department have always gone out of their way to answer questions & read a box label from the stock room. Some employees have worked there over 15 years and are a joy to see.

Great grocery store! Nice overall atmosphere with sections for organic and gluten free food. It also sells vegan options of some of your favorites. Great for broke college students using their club member card and being a member is free! Love it!

They are very helpful and friendly to disabled people in wheelchairs. They have 2 motorized wheelchair carts wich u can be helped to unload when ur done. I love Safeway!!!

This Safeway is not open 24 hours, there are a lot of homeless people at night waiting for the store to open at 5AM they lse at 12AM, they have fresh vegetables and fruits and also fresh Breakfast, you will find clean floors and restrooms. There's plenty of parking it gets very busy in the morning. this is small Safeway but it has everything you need to prepare a good meal

The Safeway on 41st avenue in capitola is very big well organized and clean. it is so big that the next time I think I'll use one of their little motorized carts to ride around in. Make sure you have a lot of time when you shopped there. Your selection of items is large and fresh. Make sure you remember where you park your car. The parking lot can be daunting.

This is my grocery store. I know where everything is, including the various nooks and crannies where they tuck away mark down items, and I recognize most of the staff, who are friendly, helpful, and UCFW organized (Union YES!). There's a bathroom available (most of the time). Standard Safeway deals and bargains, but not super cheap discount outlet. They carry 1,000+ local items.

Store was recently remodeled, but this is definitely a working person's Safeway, not an upscale shopping experience. Unfortunately, they're no longer open 24/7 due to security issues, which is a real drag (I'm as likely to go shopping at 2 a.m. as at 2 p.m.).

Everyone was so great!! This beats the hell out of the one on Mission Street. The managers there need to be taken out back and beaten with a stick. Whomever hired those jerk managers to destroy the souls of the workers there needs to be shot. My sincere condolences to the non-managers there. This is the one you need to work at, folks. Let the managers slave the way you all do there, and see what two registers vs. 30 customers can do to a human being.

Great...just too BIG. As a visitor here, I did get help by asking where things where. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND so HELPFUL. AWESOME.

I'll Safeways have always been good, courteous and white. Quick response and do what you need and get anything you need at Safeway

Even tho I find all Safeway stores too pricy for me. But all things are going up. This store has everything u ever need..AND THE STAFF PEOPLE ARE WILLING TY O HELP...THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE AROUND TO IN HELP...THEY ARE FAIR MINDED PEOPLE...THERE IS A QUEST CLINIC AS WELL .IN A PINCH IT'S MY GO TO PLACE...AND THEY EVEN ANSWER THEIR PHONES. 😆
