River Grill At the Alisal

10/22/23 Update: Food was very good, onion rings we're among the best ever, but service was beyond slow.

Prices keep creeping up in this golf course grill, but the food is very good and it's hard to beat the chill atmosphere on their outside patio. A great escape from the tourists and congestion of Solvang. The menu is pretty limited but the quality is excellent. My $20 salmon salad was very tasty although a bit overcooked. The $19 chicken salad was excellent. Beers are tourist town pricey as well but they have a good selection including local brews. I'll be back.

The food at the River Grill was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and our company was great. We shared their tortilla soup which was spicy and creamy and so very good. My husband had a club sandwich and onion rings, which were amazing. I had fish tacos and fries which were very good as well. We thought about dessert but probably should have had it first, because we were too full to even look at the menu. A lovely place for lunch.

Absolutely a must for locals and tourists alike. A refreshing dining option away from the crowds and traffic on a busy Solvang weekend. You simply cannot beat the view of the hills and canyons from the patio on a sunny day... unless the huge cozy fireplace inside is more your vibe! The food is always spot on, fresh, and filling. Breakfast classics are available all day on the weekends including eggs benedict and loaded bloody Mary's, mimosas and a few other fun "breakfast cocktails". Lunch and dinner options are timeless and there's always something for everyone. Blue Plate Specials are fun and different every Thursday and Friday night during their Late Night seating. What I love most about River Grill is that it's great for so many occasions- brunch with the girls, a quick solo lunch, dinner with the family, or beers on tap while sitting at the bar during the game. Staff are wonderful and make sure you are happy and taken care of. Great establishment here in the valley!

This was our first visit. Nice rustic restaurant with a beautiful peaceful looking view of the golf course green. Great quick service. The food was delicious and ample amount. The Bloody Mary included a thick spicy bacon slice plus plenty of olives, yummy. No complaints we had an enjoyable lunch, the price was normal for Santa Barbara and we will be returning next week.

Nestled in the beautiful mountains on a golf course of a quaint town. I appreciate the fact that they are open during covid for outdoor seating. I called in for a reservation and a very friendly guy booked us for the time requested. After taking some pics in their beautiful rose garden, we were seated promptly on our reserved table. The service was prompt. Food was served in ginormous portions by friendly servers and everything tasted great. Menu prices were much lower than expected. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.

This is a "locals favorite" with gorgeous views over the Alisal River Public Golf Course and mountains behind it. Gourmet food at great prices. Excellent live music on Thurs. and Friday nights. Sunset views over the balcony...inside and outside dining with appropriate social distancing. Vegans can adjust salads, and fries are vegan friendly.

The service was lovely, everyone was kind and accommodating. The food was tasty and not overpriced for the area. The views and atmosphere were peaceful and sincere. Highly recommend!

Extraordinary locale with scenic view of golf course. Food was delicious. Veggie omelets was to die for. Outdoor seating made me feel safe and comfortable keeping in view the social distancing. It was a perfect brunch with hubby :)

I used to golf at the Alisal everyday way back when but the restaurant The Grill here is good and they even offered my dog a patty just as an amenity! Very nice staff, great place to eat at after church! lol OR WHATEVER U'VE JUST FINISHED DOING TOO!

We found this "hidden gem" while looking for a breakfast spot while visiting Solvang. This restaurant is about a mile south of Mission Drive and Alisal Road. It is not at Alisal Ranch, it is open to the public. If the weather is good, there is outside seating, overlooking the adjacent golf course.
For the amount of people in the restaurant, service was slow. We ended up seating ourselves and someone brought menus. From this point on, service was good. The menu is not large, but everything was cooked to order and freshly made.
We are putting this place on our list of places to eat, when we return to the area.

it was my first time going there with a bunch of riders , from are church, it was clean and yes even bathrooms as well .
the service was very attentive to all 18 of riders. food was very good ,service was on point ,am going back for seconds.

What more can you ask for...

Golf clubhouse with a peaceful patio overlooking the hills. Short menu of classic salads, burgers and tacos is done well if a little overpriced. A welcome oasis from kitsch Danish in downtown Solvang.

Amazing place to have a bite. The prices are quite reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

An added bonus, the scenery is breathtaking.

Breakfast is very good. They have the best Chicken tortilla soup ever, Asian noodle salad very tasty and the albacore tuna sandwich is bomb. Great price fast friendly service with great views of their beautiful golf course

Very satisfying..Beautiful view of Alisal Golf Course and environs. Relaxing. Staff does not rush anyone . Food is delicious and plentiful. Great for locals. Let's keep it that way. Our only haven!!
