The Loft Raw Bar and Seafood Grill

A very nice restaurant for some fresh seafood. They have many options available and everything we tried was delicious. The octopus and fried snapper were so good. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. A nice spot for a romantic dinner in the centre of Bar Harbor.

Highly recommend. My wife and I wanted to to go here after a few searches and when we finally made it we were not disappointed. We had the Sergeant tower which had oysters and fire ice (frozen tabasco), crab, shrimp and scallop ceviche which was delicious by the way. We were greeted promptly and with smiles and seated and the food and drinks were delicious.

Highly recommend this place.
If you like seafood this is the right place to go.
Their cocktails are amazing and the staff is amazing.
If you sit at the bar, Bet will make you the best drinks, if go for a table, ask for Sofia to be your server.

Hands down one of the best restaurants we had in all of Maine! Very cool and innovative menu and very beautifully and absolutely fresh and delicious food. Everything we had was spectacular! Great cocktail menu also, I had the summer cocktail and my dauther had the blueberry lemonade, yum!! Very fast, friendly and very efficient service. Also very affordable compared a lot of other places in the area!

Food was great! Loved everything we ordered. Seacuterie, surf and turf BLT, 5 types of oysters, and smoked bacon. The expresso martini used coffee from the local Graffiti Cafe. It had the right amount of sweetness and was pretty strong. Loved it!
Our server, John, was great! Very friendly and attentive. If we had time, we would’ve gone visit him at his bar, the beerworks.

This oyster place is comparable to Neptune oyster. Very fresh. Love their special flavor ice. Watermelon ice goes very well with all the oyster (a must try). Crab Rangoon flatbread was very good. Scallops are cooked perfectly. The only thing I didn’t enjoy much was truffle crab fries. Would be better if they serve tater tot instead of fries (just a thought). Painkiller drink was superb.

If you are looking for a raw oyster bar…THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Fresh, high quality local oysters with the outside of the shells scrubbed clean - you will never have to worry about sand and mud ruining the experience. There is a choice of 4 mignonettes. I feel - The watermelon ice & blueberry jalapeño mignonette were great accompaniments to the oysters. My partner and I shared the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake : without a doubt - the clam chowder is rich, thick with plenty of flavor - moving on to the well sized lobster, mussels, clams and a corn cob. The corn was covered in an herb basil butter that made the corn even tastier. Our drinks were simple: a local Maine brew and Chenin Blanc wine, but definitely good compliments to our meal.

The atmosphere is chic, tasteful and fun - like the staff.

We walk in. Beautiful space. Bright and lively. One of my favorite bands, Glass Animals, is playing. This my friends, is an omen and a good one at that.

This was easily my favorite meal of my trip as well as one of the top 5 meals of my life!

As a vegan, I totally acknowledge vacationing in places known for their seafood can be tough. But if you visit Bar Harbor, The Loft is a MUST.

The vegan buffalo chicken sandwich left me speechless, stunned... love at first bite, if you will. The maple buffalo sauce was unreal, perfectly balanced. The oyster mushroom and breading was beyond compare.

This entire plate was gone within minutes and I must warn you, multiple napkins is the best approach!! Great service from Angel and a clean bathroom. Thank you so much!!

Loved the ambience, service and good at the Loft. The drinks we had were great, especially the "Painkiller". We tried the oysters and they were incredibly fresh and flavourful. The crab flatbread was amazing and so was the BLT (with pork belly and seared scallops). The service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Definitely a must visit in Bar Harbor/Acadia!

Really enjoyed the place. Bartender and other staff are polite, knowledgeable about the food and as engaging as you want to be. I went here two times during this visit to Bar Harbor. First was for drinks and oysters. There were 5 types and they were all very good. Second time was to have the seafood tower - full lobster, shrimp, tuna poke, some haddock and another 20 oysters. Some of these were different varieties from two days before which goes to show the volume that they go through. Enjoyed both occasions.

The only slight issue I had was that the shocking of the oysters was a bit rough. There were definitely shell bits in quite a few both times. And we also had a couple oysters both times that had torn sacks. Still edible obviously but with something as delicate as an oyster, and the prices, I would hope that issue gets resolved.

I would still go again, and the freshness of all the seafood as well the service keep me with 5 stars for this one.

It was a nice surprise find! We got the tower that came with oysters, clam, crab, lobster, tuna, and shrimps and the tuna poke. They all tasted good and it's not cheap but the price matches with other local restaurants. Luckily. it was happy hour when we went so we got the beer for half the price. The interior is so cute and the server was so nice. Overall very good experience, unique food, and would definitely recommend!
It's a bit hard to find because it's on second floor. There was a waitress just outside the building who guided us to the restaurant.

This place has the tastiest shareables. If you're a fan of seafood, this is the place. My husband and I can not stop thinking about the sea-cuterie board we had. Which was such a fun take on charcuterie and it was really filling. And the ahi poke wonton nachos were BEAUTIFUL and so so good.

Hidden gem in Bar Harbor!! Excellent food! Started with the smoked maple pork belly and it was THE best we have ever eaten!! Also enjoyed the 3 Little Pigs Flatbread which was equally amazing. For Entrees we had the Sesame Tuna and Seafood Bucatini and they were very tasty as well! This restaurant is only on the upper level which makes it hidden but easier to get a table! Highly recommended!!

We came here after trying to find a restaurant that didn’t have what looked like the same menu all the restaurants in the area had. It did not disappoint! I loved trying the different types of oysters. They were fresh and salty and delicious. I had the bucatini dish and it was amazing! The noodles were perfect for the flavorful sauce. My husband had the three little pigs flat bread and said it was the best “pizza” he’d had in a long time. I highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Loft. Best meal, service, and atmosphere on our entire trip. The creative drinks and dishes was a welcome change and wonderful! Add this to your must do list!

We have an amazing experience trying seafoods in their restaurant. Their food is full of flavors and worth to try and fresh!

I hope servers are also attentive to their costumers but everything was great 👍🏻

Awesome food here, everything was fresh and flavored amazingly! The fish was so good! And if you're into fries, just get them, they are amazing. The raw oysters really hit the spot!

I'm writing this review after dining at The Loft on it's opening night. I believe that this restaurant has absolutely amazing food, fantastic service, an excellent bar, and a great location in Bar Harbor. The Loft does not have a traditional menu, rather they have a great selection of oysters, a raw bar, and shareable platters. There is a selection of "meals" on the menu, but the options there are limited. What The Loft instead offers are shareable platters for couples or groups. The format is more like tapas, but bolder.

To start with the food, my table had several dishes of both seafood and non-seafood options. Everything we ordered was fantastic, both of taste and presentation. Our favorite dish we ordered was the Surf and Turf BLT's, which used perfectly cooked scallops as the "bread" for the BLT, and an amazing pork belly was the "bacon".

In regards to service, Claire was our waitress and she did an awesome job. She checked on us often, was able to answer all our questions, and when an item we ordered was taking a while she she made sure it wasn't forgotten and handled it appropriately. The food wasn't impressively fast to come out, but considering the beautiful presentation of every dish, and the fact that it was opening night, I was satisfied with the speed of service.

Overall, I think this is an excellent place to enjoy dinner with friends. I don't see this as being a great choice for a traditional family dinner (i.e. parents with a couple small kids), but I do think this would be an excellent option for a couple, a small group or friends, or even a large group of friends. The Loft offers a different take on what you would normally find at many others restaurants in the area and it's worth trying for those looking for something new.

A modern fusion seafood restaurant in the heart of bar harbor. My girlfriend and I came across this hidden gem spot as other restaurants were closed. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

The starter flight with different sashimi was fresh and tasty (esp. hamachi with tangerine was a twisty symphony on my tongue). I also recommend trying the vegan buffalo wings(fried oyster mushroom) and BLT. As for drinks, do try out the painkiller - it's a really smooth whiskey cocktail.

Shootout to our server Claire for the night. She was super friendly and knowledgeable! Definitely recommend dining at this place!!!

Really enjoyed my visit. Had the lobster with potatoes. She got fish and chip. Everything was great and reasonably priced. Service was great and friendly. Definitely recommend.
