Mayan Kitchen

The food, atmosphere and service at Mayan Kitchen were all OUTSTANDING! It’s such a clean, elegant, beautifully decorated restaurant. Our waitress was knowledgeable and patient with my husband’s many questions. The portions of food were more than anyone at the table could finish- leaving us with yummy leftovers and the food itself was perfectly cooked and delicious. When the dinner crowd filed in, the manager immediately stepped up to deliver our meals to our table so our food was piping hot! Coming from Miami we have the highest standards for Latin food and Mayan Kitchen more than measures up. Though it’s nearly 2 hours from us, we will be back for sure!! 5 stars all the way around!

This place has been recommended to me by several people so I had to check it out on our stay in Chattanooga. This place was fantastic! Service and atmosphere were excellent.

Chips and Salsa - Very good, fresh chips with a flavorful salsa.

Spicy salsa - We always ask for the hottest salsa you have at any Mexican restaurant we go to and it was sadly not very hot at all. Great flavor, but not the spice we were hoping for. I will say that my wife and I live for spice so our tolerance is much much higher than an average person. They also charged 2 dollars for a very small portion of it which was a surprise.

Antigua Dip - (cheese dip with a kick) Flavor and consistency of the dip was great. I wish it had a little more “kick” than what it had, but still good.

Croquetas De Picadillo - (fried ball of pork and vegetables) surprisingly incredible. I ordered them purely because I’ve never heard of anything like these. They’re so good! Don’t sleep on them.

Al Pastor Tacos - Very good, put together nicely and the pork was full of flavor.

Pollo Loco - Very good, good flavor on the chicken and a nice large portion.

The Mayan Fajitas - (steak, chicken, and shrimp) Very good, All of the meats were cooked perfectly with great flavor. The side plate of extras it came with was an excellent addition as well to make your tacos how you want to.

Overall my family was very satisfied with this place. Would recommend to anyone.

Atmosphere is great, service excellent, and food amazing! I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and it’s one of the best I’ve tasted! Crispy chips and fresh daily made salsa. A varied menu that has options to please everyone in your group. Highly recommend Mayan Kitchen!

This place is incredible! The ambiance is warm, inviting, cozy, and hip. I am vegan and when I told the bar tender he said oh we have a vegan vegetarian menu. I was extatic about the fact they had a special menu just for me. Everything sounded delicious. I went with the veggie tacos they were absolutely delicious this is coming from a Mexican girl. The black beans were so amazing! I got a side of the guacamole app it was chunky and fresh af just how I love it. I had a classic margarita to go with it and it was to die for. This was an amazing dinner 🥰

I absolutely loved the vibe of this restaurant. The food was delicious and service was great. My waiter was very attentive and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Came here for brunch/lunch and it was so good. Boyfriend got the steak breakfast skillet and I got the pollo loco. We were stealing food off of each others’ plates they were both so good. Would definitely come back whenever we visit Chattanooga again.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant and it was great! They were VERY accommodating to my dietary restrictions.

I literally could smell this delicious food a mile away. I'm so glad I chose this restaurant it was everything I expected. We were seated right when we entered. I loved the decor it gave it an intimate feel to each table. The waiter was nice and prompt. The food was DELICIOUS 😋 its a must if you're ever in town.

We had walked by the establishment several times during our stay in Chattanooga. There looked to always be a crowd of people going there. On our last night we decided to try it. Oh my!!! It was delicious. We tried the Pollo Loco and Pollo en Pepian. It's absolutely amazing. Thank you, Eli, for taking such good care of us. It made our dini g experience even better.

The service was fabulous and the food was pretty and delicious! There were two large groups when we were there. The interior is nicely done. The food was excellent.

Excellent food and our server was great. She was quick, knowledgeable, and very good all around. We had a group of six and she handled all of our orders flawlessly. There was live music, jazz band, and it was a little loud but we were seated the at the table furthest from them and that helped. If we'd been closer, it would have been difficult to talk with one another. It was a good night and we will be back.

One of my favorite places in Chattanooga! We've had brunch here, and it's great, and we come in for the hangar steak dish, which we can rarely finish. Lots of food for what I feel is great price!

And everything, EVERYTHING on that plate is fantastic. The steak, the potatoes, the veggies, and the beans (and I'm not usually much of a bean person). Everything is such a different flavor than what I feel is "the usual" around town.

Their blood orange margarita is also fantastic. No surprise that it won Best Margarita at the 2023 Chattanooga Margarita festival.

We've had the absolute pleasure of having Eduardo as our server 3 times in a row now, and we'll try to always request him from now on. He's attentive without hovering, and even remembered our order from the last time we were there over 6 weeks ago!

Came here for lunch and will be coming back! Very spacious, clean, elegant, but not pretentious and certainly not overpriced. Mayan burger was great even without the bun. Colleagues' taco salad was massive! Also appreciated the large dedicated parking lot which, even though you must pay, is a convenience for such a crowded area of the city.

Such a gem in downtown Chattanooga. The ambience was simple, elegant, educational, colorful, gorgeous. We had pupusas, enchiladas suizas, steak quesadillas and tacos. We also had margaritas. Everything looked and tasted great, very authentic, very flavorful. The service was outstanding: every staff we encounter was friendly and helpful.

My husband and i visited for Valentine Day dinner. The drinks were awesome. Loved the queso dip as well as the quacamole dip. I had the jumbo stuffed shrimp and my hubby had the pollo relleno...both were very good. Loved the ambiance!

The second I walked in, I knew I was going to have an amazing time. even though I got takeout, the second I stepped foot into the restaurant, I could feel and smell the amazing food. the lady at the front desk was so sweet, and I was expecting us to wait 20 minutes for our food, but it was the exact opposite. Easiest 5 stars ever. Would definitely go again.

An open-air restaurant when they let the doors open at the front of the restaurant, and the inside is artfully appointed as well. But, come here for the food because it's fantastic. They'll prepare you some fresh guacamole and the salsa is excellent. We stopped by close to lunch, so the brunch menu and the dinner menu was available. The brunch had some stuff that sounded great, but we hit the dinner menu with Mayan Chicken and fajitas. They were outstanding. Everyone seemed to be satisfied and full from all of our dishes, and we had a party of eight. Great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Excellent service! Especially Giovanni at the bar. He is very attentive and knowledgeable Makes great suggestions. Food is good really enjoyed the ceviche. Tried pupusas for the first time. Very good. Restaurant is very pretty.

We stopped in here for dinner based on a recommendation from a very good friend - and we are glad we did! John was our server and he was wonderful. He was very kind when my son spilled his drink and dissolved into tears over the mess. He was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make dinner choices we each very much enjoyed, as we were visiting and this was our first time. He kept our drinks filled and just took very good care of us. The food was very tasty and the margarita was on point! It is small, but stout. Woo! We really enjoyed our visit and would be happy to stop in again.
