We stayed here with our RV but there are also Cabins available. The park is managed very well and kept clean and in shape. It is a family oriented park with activities for children and a dog park. There is a cave tour and some mining activities available. We liked the views of the mountains and the abundance of birds. Coming to Chattanooga this is the place to be.

We did the waterfall dome tour of the caverns- extremely fun and stunning tour. Genuinely challenging squeezes and crawls. The staff was incredible, and managed to get us in on a tour on a weekday. Eric is an incredible guide, but may be leaving soon! Get in this year while he is there.

We went on the Crystal Palace Tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Cavern was beautiful and had unique features and interesting history. Our tour guide, Bob, was knowledgeable and friendly. Plus, his geology jokes rocked!

Great location that is easy to access. Awesome staff that really care that their guests enjoy their stay. Had no problem getting settled with a 40 foot rig and I have seen many guests with larger ones. 10 out of 10!

Staff was AMAZING. The Manager went out of her way to be helpful in unexpectedly accommodating and supportive of our needs and emotions. We stayed only 1 night and felt like we left great long-time friends. Can't wait to return!

We did the 2 hour canyon crawl tour: What an absolutely amazing experience!!! This is not for the faint of heart BUT if you want to face some fears, feel amazing about yourself and see something that will open your mind about our natural world FOREVER, then any of the caving experiences will easily do that for you. With the expertise for two tour guides, you are safely brought to a world you didn’t even know existed. Truly something I will never forget. The staff were the friendliest people that had a vast knowledge of the caving systems and everything inside of them (including many more facts about rocks and crystals.) You can’t beat the price either for what feels like a priceless experience. Thank you thank you thank you. AND SHOUT OUT TO MY MAN ERIC!!!!!!!!! Thank god he was there to make that unbeatable experience for me and my best friends that I “forced” to come. I know they were sure happy about it in the end.

This campground is well taken care of, all of the staff were attentive friendly and worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. Firewood was delivered to our campsite whenever we needed more. Trash was picked up from our site and the place was walking distance to the Cave which we enjoyed so much! The staff was having their annual Christmas party and invited us to attend with them. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here if you are close.

This cave is absolutely splendid and just gorgeous! The ceilings are often low so it is quite cozy. It’s such an active cave too so it’s still growing! And full of very very small wildlife. I love that they tell you so much about the history of it as well, it’s connection to Ruby Falls down the road and the stories of the various owners they had when it was first opened. Our tour guide was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the time with her. I’m very upset that I never caught her name to properly give her credit here.

Staff was great, location was awesome. Lots of amenities. The Caverns were right on sight and the tour was really fun and interesting. I have a 10 and 12 year old and it kept their interest. Trash picked up every day on time and the office stayed open late which was really nice. Cable was really good. Easy to get to Chattanooga and there was shopping nearby if you needed to pick up something that you forgot. Price was very reasonable. Overall we had a really great experience. Would definitely visit again.

We didn’t camp but did the 45 minute cave tour. We were the last group of the day so there were only four of us that went through the cavern. Our guide was amazing & shared awesome history and facts of the cave. Weren’t money hungry or pushing us to pay for pictures & the guide took our picture for free. Definitely enjoyed the cave conservation experience vs the common money driven places. All around a great experience to finish our day in Chattanooga.

I took 2 school groups for the Crystal Caverns Tour this week, and we had a wonderful time. The tour guides were great, and everyone was easy to work with. Management was very responsive to phone calls and emails to help us set up our tour, and they were generous and kind about rescheduling when we needed to cancel for bad weather. I look forward to visiting again!

We just took the hour long tour of Raccoon Mountain Caverns, and we loved it! Our guide, Michael, was very informative and gave us quite a few laughs during the tour. The cave is well lit and there are lots of formations to see. I highly recommend this tour.

We came with a scout troop. Five adults and ten kids. They provided water, fire ring and water wood. Public bathrooms with showers very small walk but hard to do ypt since public. They have a group hang out area where the serves cookies and coco. Boys loved the cave, raccoons and very bossy black and white cat. Great for families and groups. Service was amazing. Easy to find right off highway. Kids love Dillon, maintenance man of the year.

Stayed in a 45' RV. Sites are accommodating and level. Beautiful views from all angles. Staff were super friendly. Loved the cookies and coco for Christmas. Even thru all the rain, this staff worked hard making sure everything is well taken care of. Loved Chattanooga! Will visit again!

This was our second time tent camping at Raccoon Mountain. We are locals with small children, so we enjoy the location close to home with the feel as if we are getting out of town, but with the closeness of all our favorite activities. The grounds and bathroom are sparkling clean and other guests are considerate of quiet hours and friendly. Our kids love the playgrounds and gem panning. Some of the tent sites with pads can be pretty rocky, but there are also sites in the grass. These can be pretty close to one another, but it is what it is.

Been visiting Racoon Mountains Campgrounds for years now, both with an RV and having rented a cabin. They have pup friendly cabins as well! You seriously can't beat the location and atmosphere!
They are now under new ownership and there is now unfortunately no longer access to the hiking trails from camp. It was truly one of the best experiences about staying there, being able to walk to the trail from your cabin and explore. I hope they are able to figure something out with the previous owner and bring the trails back.
I always have to have my next trip planned to make leaving easier, already can't wait to come back!

The campground is very nice with friendly and helpful staff. We reserved with shorter notice for a 2 week stay and the only sites available were the narrow ones. The space was a little tight but it allowed us to meet our neighbors more readily. We ended up with a private tour of the caverns as no one else had reserved the time slot. It was interesting and beautiful. I would return if back in the area.

We stayed at Raccoon Mountain Campground for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We also toured the caverns adjacent to the campground and had a blast doing that. The location is great as it’s close to I-24 and only 20 mins to downtown Chattanooga. We will definitely stay here again.

Crystal Caves walking tours was very informative and easy to do. Lasted about an hour. It's a bit pricey but glad we did. The guide was very nice and flexible with us due to our anxious special needs girl, so that was much appreciated. Recommend for something to check out in the area.
