Awesome Oyster bar.

Quaint, comfortable and slightly upscale. A very nice bar to enjoy quality oysters and mixed drinks.

Not a lot of space here but perfect for a couple on date night.

The owner, Trevor, is great. We stumbled in looking for a beer and oysters and ended up with the best bar on the island. We were lucky to be there on the off times where there were less crowds but during the busy season, I can only imagine that it’s full to the brim. Definitely a highlight of the trip, make sure to get the oysters as they’re local and the best oysters I’ve ever eaten. Very wide draft menu featuring all local beers, something for everyone including non alcoholic options.

Stopped by in-between meals as trying oysters was on the trip's bucket list. The oysters were delightful - next time, we will definitely try the pretzel! Our server was very kind and attentive despite tables filling up as soon as they emptied. Definitely recommend!

8/12/2022 stopped here for a quick bite to hold me over until dinner. It’s a small bar and gets filled up quick. They are dog friendly here. I sat at the bar and ordered oysters and a pretzel. The bar tender said they had the best oysters, they were local and delicious but weren’t the best I’ve had in ME. The pretzel was absolutely delicious!!

I highly recommend stopping here for a drink and some food!

Loved this place. Stopped in for a few oysters and beers. This was the first time in about 15 years that I had a raw oyster. I can say for sure that this place is the reason I have a slight oyster obsession now. The oysters were so fresh, and the house made mignonette was the best I've ever had. The beer selection was decent, and the bartender was great. It looked like she was the only one there (maybe someone in the back schucking oysters?). She was bartending, serving, and bussing.

Just a great place overall! I'll be coming back here next time I'm in Bar Harbor.

After walking around Bar Harbor and taking in the sights, we were in the mood for some cold, dirty martinis and raw oysters. The Barnacle was exactly what we were looking for.

The bartender knew everything about the oyster of the day and the mignonette served with the oysters was literally the best I've ever had. He also made the perfect gin martini for people watching in the seats facing the sidewalk. The vibes and music were excellent as well.

If I lived in Bar Harbor I'd be here all the time!

This place is amazing!!… after 6 Bar Harbor Beach Blonde Hadley Point Oysters I questioned whether they were the best of my entire life…..after my next 6 it was clearly obvious!!…. Zanna recommended the perfect Chardonnay and provided next level hospitality!! Can’t wait to get back here!!!

We’ve been to the Barnacle a few times — once on our last trip to Bar Harbor and twice this past trip. The oysters are phenomenal! They have bar seating and some individual tables. Dog friendly inside.

Just ate here! The drinks were amazing definitely recommend the Ghost Pepper margaritas and boozy blueberry lemonade! The oysters were super yummy, but I'm a big lover of seafood! The bartender was super kind and recommended other places to us! Would definitely visit again for the drinks!

Best oyster and mignonette of my entire life. The bartenders were friendly everytime we went. The drink list is very nice and the locals are the cherry on top

The food and drinks at The Barnacle were everything I hoped for during our last night in Bar Harbor! The quaint clean space, the jazzy music, and the the soft lighting created such a lovely ambiance for enjoying a drink (or a few!) in town. We said cheers to a wonderful week in Maine with our Allagash beers, fresh harbor oysters, and funny conversations with new friends.

This is a simple bar that is a great spot for a pre-dinner cocktail and some exquisite oysters. Our bartender was excellent working alone to pour drinks, bus tables, and take was seemed like a never ending line of orders all without getting behind or making mistakes. A feature of this bar is the kombucha based cocktails. The oysters are based on what they can get that day.

The Barnacle was our first stop after arriving in Bar Harbor. We were hungry and thirsty and our bartender Cosmo and the kitchen staff took care of both of those for us! The mussels were great, and one of the best Dark & Stormy's I've ever had. Great selection of beer and cider. A cool space with limited seating but we were able to get a spot at the bar pretty quickly to make room for our food. Definitely would love to stop back on my next visit!

Strolling through Bar Harbor, we popped in for a drink and a snack. Instead, we stayed for a half dozen oysters, a mussel pot, a Maine Red Hot (not pictured), and multiple drinks. Bar tender was very attentive and friendly. The quaint and cozy spot was well worth the stop and additional time spent enjoying local seafood and beers. With plenty of options for food in Bar Harbor, I would recommend going out of your way to stop by and have at least a half dozen oysters, a Maine Red Hot, and a local craft beer. I would make this a regular stop when visiting Bar Harbor in the future.

A great change of pace from the t-shirt and souvenir shops, definitely stop in for a drink. The oysters were fantastic and as fresh as you can get! Beautiful wood built-ins and bar. High end bourbon selection and Cosmo, the charming bartender, will steer you right.

Seems we landed on a night with the good bar tender (not sure who that Trevor guy in the one star reviews is). Great ambiance. Positive vibe. Excellent oysters (the homemade dressing is superb). A great break from the crazy of Bar Harbor.

Very cool small bar. We went twice in three days. We tried several of their house cocktails, as well as some of their beers (Gunners daughter!!) And both the oysters and the pretzel and all of them were great. Would definitely recommend spending an evening or two at the barnacle and watch the single barperson hold several conversations, make drinks, clean tables, welcome and check out customers all by themselves. Music was perfect one night and average the next.
