What a wonderful response to a major problem. I have been a customer for many years and find this store to be amazing. Even I have seen Mother's who refuse to see after their children and let them cause damage to merchandise making it unsafe for other customers. It is not the employees job to babysit. They have enough to do. I so love the small shops along the Square in McKinney which gives the area such charm and quality shopping. Why should they be expected to suffer loss because you don't watch your children? Keep up the good work Maimee Lou, those who know you love you!!

I had the best shopping experience at Maimee Lou and their sister store Rockin AB. The customer service is phenomenal and the owner is so courteous and kind. They offer such an incredible product assortment that they are very knowledgeable about. I highly recommend both Maimee Lou & Rockin AB :) Be sure to stop in their stores this Holiday season to purchase amazing gifts!!

Maimee Lou has every right to make rules in THEIR shop! It isn’t Walmart or Target….When an item gets damaged, THEY sacrifice… it’s a scrapped item that they can’t sell. Yeah they can write it off but they are still at a loss especially if they paid the company for the product that they are trying to sell! These boutiques have items you can’t get at Walmart or Target. So because you felt discriminated for allowing your child to chew on an item that wasn’t purchased nor were you ever committed to purchasing. Then how dare you discriminate against the boutique itself. How about shop where your money will allow you to shop, instead of giving an amazing boutique a bad name!

My wife and I are expecting very soon and we went here to grab a few last minute outfits and bathing suits for this summer. The selection was great, the clearance items were a great deal. The staff was very helpful as this is our first and we are a little bit lost. It's nice to know there is a place so close-by that is family owned that we can lean on for baby clothing help.

Love this store and it’s perfect for finding high-end baby gifts! Sister store Rockin AB is our older daughter’s favorite :)

I will not be shopping here or at the sister store, Rockin AB, based on the attitude that the owner is known to have with anyone bringing children into the store. There have been multiple reports of experiences just like mine where the staff/owner made customers with children feel unwelcome in the store. And instead of replying with an apology and promise of solution the owner tries to justify the behavior and seems to place blame on the customer for incidents that are largely out of anyone’s control. I went into the store carrying my 15 month old daughter and picked up a little plastic toy to show her. She played with it for a few seconds and then put it to her mouth. I quickly took the toy away as soon as I noticed but was then approached by the owner who told me that I had to then purchase the toy after having been in my daughter’s mouth. I suggested sanitizing the toy was a more reasonable option since I was not planning to buy it. The owner gave me the most condescending look of disgust as I handed her the toy. Although she did not make me buy the toy, I felt as though I had done something wrong and was extremely uncomfortable shopping around after that. The store promises that they sell their merchandise in pristine condition, not pre-loved, or pre-licked, but I feel that may be an unreasonable expectation for a baby retail store. Running a business where the target consumers are expected to never try the product before purchasing just seems a bit silly. Especially if it is a baby in a baby toy store. If such guidelines are to be enforced there should be clear and obvious signage to avoid awkward situations. But even if that were in place, a respectful small business owner should probably practice a more courteous and less patronizing approach to their customers in order to keep shoppers like me and ALL my friends coming back.

The second we walked in the store I instantly felt uncomfortable. The staff was watching us and following us around the whole time. We spent over $120 on baby clothing, and the staff was looking in our strollers and checking our son to see if we had stolen anything. I almost turned around and returned everything we bought just because I am disgusted by the stuff behavior and don’t want to support that company ever again. We thought the exact same way in their sister store rockin AB. How do you have a kids store where they do not let kids touch anything? I will never be going back to support that store, and all of my parent friends will be no notified of our experience.

What a disappointing experience. I'm left confused by this store's attitude towards children as they are a children's boutique. I respect the struggles any small business faces against theft but the distain for kids being in the boutique is such a turn off. After seeing a "policy" paper that "reminded" parents this is not a daycare or library, I decided to put away all the dresses I was considering purchasing and felt shamed by attempting to look at a book's content - deciding whether it was a good purchase or not. I cannot give my business to a business who dislikes kids so much.
