1022 Cafe & Gelateria

Oceanside seems to outdo itself each time... adding this cafe to its repertoire takes the cake! They serve up delicious, beautiful and thoughtfully made hot and cold fares ....their prices do not complement how amazing everything is!....The ambiance makes this place one of a kind.... beautifully crafted drinks in an artfully crafted place. I had the matcha and my friend had the Chai, delicious!!!!

Great new addition to the Oceanside downtown. Their gelatos are all amazing. I like the Baccio and the lemon are my favorites. They use very high quality coffee and espresso. I’ve a had a couple of lattes and an affogato and all were amazing. Would highly recommend it for that after dinner treat with a nice espresso

This place is amazing! The people there were incredibly friendly. We tried just about every flavor and they were all great. Pistachio was the best! Even with the small size, you can get up to 2 flavors. The gelato is also stored in a more temperature controlled environment. And it seems like some of the flavors rotate out, so keep coming back if you want to check out new ones!

I didn’t order any coffee so I can’t speak to that, but the coffee related menu items looked really good. They also have some good tea options.

The whole space was also incredibly clean with some indoor seating and an outdoor patio with picnic benches.

A place like this is so rare. They deserve every 5 start review they get. From the QUALITY of their gelato and coffee, to their genuine friendliness and hospitality. I only wish I lived closer but I’ll be making the 50 minute commute next time I’m in the mood for authentic gelato and amazing coffee. Amazing 11/10!!

Not just gelato, but great coffee too! The staff are super nice and are always ready to accommodate my desire to try new things. I order the same way every time: "3 shots and other ingredients and flavor(s) of your choosing, please" and I have never been disappointed. Also found out a few things about my own tastes that I didn't know. Oh, and I almost forgot...best gelato ever!

I am super happy to have found a perfect gelato place in Oceanside! The place was very clean and neat. Conor was very friendly and introduced us to literally every flavor. I was surprised that all the gelatos were made in the place! I had strawberry sorbet and hazelnut which were out of this world! The pistachio flavor was also beyond expectation. My friend told me that her coffee tasted great as well. I am definitely visiting this place again soon!

Best authentic Italian gelato I have ever had in the US! Europeans you will love it (tastes like home), Americans you should definitively try it! Very friendly service is the cherry on the cake

My wife loves ice cream! But not any ice cream! Coming from Europe and having visited Italy, she (we) loves fabulous coffee and flavorful gelato. So, today, traveling from San Diego to Long Beach, she made me drive back for a new coffee and gelato place. When we arrived, she told me: “If it doesn’t look good, we’ll just get out and leave!”

When we entered the shop, it looked so new and clean! The vibe was very modern and European. We loved the place instantly! And the guy there was so nice. He introduced himself, told us his business story, gave us samples, and made it a whole experience for us!

It was truly the best gelato we’ve ever had in the US. Our special gelato places are in Portland, OR, or Coronado, CA. But this gelato was almost perfect. I liked the strawberry, bacio, and chocolate flavors. My wife loved hazelnut, tiramisu, pistachio, and the special mango sorbet. She had a large and a medium cup. I had a medium cup. We got four ristrettos and a macchiato on the house. It was a real treat!

And guess what? Tomorrow we have plans to visit them again since we are staying in Carlsbad overnight!

Here is why this places gets 5 stars. First the employees greet you and create small talk that makes you feel home. Second thier coffee is great tasting. Freshly made and tje vanilla latte hot the spot. Third they sell Gelato ice cream. Thier milk and chocolate flavor is soo good that my kid gave it a high thumbs up. Thisbis my spot for coffee driving up here and a working spot. Plus it is a walk away to the beach. You can't beat the spot.

We came for some Gelato and found a whole lot more! Visiting from Alberta, Canada, and we had a great conversation about where to go in San Diego and Oceanside. Stellar espresso, excellent Chai tea, epic Macha and to-die-for Gelato. All with outstanding friendly service 😀. Thanks for making our stay fantastic.

Connor was super knowledgeable and friendly. He let me and my wife try every flavor and went over their process thoroughly. The containers for their gelato are top of the line and keeps the gelato at the perfect temperature. I got the cheesecake affogato (gelato with espresso) and was incredibly smooth and rich. My wife got amarena affogato (Italian cherry with espresso). The affogato was different in a good way because they put the espresso in a little pocket on the side rather than drowning the gelato. We also ended up sharing a regular pistachio cup. You can always tell if a gelato place is good from their pistachio. 10/10 for the pistachio. After talking about coffee for a bit, Connor let us sample some of their's. I left this establishment with so much more knowledge about both coffee and gelato. Incredible service and amazing product.

Delicious flavors and friendly staff! This was the best gelato I’ve had. My kids loved the chocolate flavor - smooth, creamy, and milky. The perfect after dinner treat.

The service here is amazing, and the gelato is even better! It just melted in your mouth and was so delicious! Everyone was so friendly, they let us try a million flavors before choosing one, and they gave us recommendations on what to do/where to eat in the area. I would definitely recommend!

This is an incredible spot! The gelato flavors are all unique and tasty. The coffee is exceptional, probably the best I’ve had, and the lavender chai latte is absolutely amazing. The owners are very friendly and passionate about their work. I will recommend this place to everyone and will for sure be visiting again soon!

This place immediately won our hearts! Best white mocha I have ever had, Ethiopian cold brew, and such creamy flavorful gelato. It's amazing for people who enjoy quality coffee as well as sweet treats. Bring your friends here!!!

edit: had to come back one last time before flying back to ohio, still just as amazing. We'll be comparing every coffee we have to this for a very long time!

I always love coming here when I'm in the area. They have some of the best gelato I've had period. The staff is always eager to let you sample different flavors and everything I've tried has been delicious, especially the pistachio 10/10

I've also had some of their coffee and matcha just to try it out. The matcha is made using a whisk and bowl and was yummy. The coffee was honestly just ok, still 5 stars though because the gelato is that good!

This is seriously the best gelato place in North County San Diego. You MUST go. My personal favorite is half cheececake, half coffee caramel almond (salted coffee almond....er, coffee salted almond? Coffee SOMETHING - take my word for it, it was divine). In any case, the vibe is amazing and the gelato is the bomb diggity!

My wife and I decided to go in today and it was both of our firsts times being here so they went through all their flavors and recommendations with us. The gelato was so good, and we both ended up getting affogatos. We’re bringing all our family and friends here, what a treat!
