Surfside Animal Hospital

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. King and her staff. Dr. King is extremely caring and treats each animal as if they were her own. I feel 100% comfortable having them in her care. She’s also a surgeon and performed a Gastropexy & Spay on two of my large female mastiffs. She’s such a pro and both healed beautifully. If you’re looking for a great vet, you’ve come to the right place.

I also want to highlight Lisa Marie who works at the front desk. She is always a pleasure to see. She’s always so bubbly and fun even on the most stressful of days. She cares about you and your pets and will do whatever she can to get you onto the schedule. She is such a delight. And bonus, she can also pet sit!

I have been taking my pit bull, Bear, to Surfside since he was a puppy. They always take care of my baby boy.

A couple years ago Bear got a fox tail stuck in his ear and pierced his ear drum. 🥲. We took him to Surfside right away. They handled it like the pros they are and Bear was good to go in no time.

We take him there for flea meds, allergy shots, ear infections, nail trimming, regular check ups and emergencies...every time they are helpful, honest, and friendly.

I highly recommend you take your pets to Surfside, they rock!!!!

I cannot say enough how appreciative I am that Surfside exists and that their staff is who they are. They were all truly there for my baby and I on a super scary day when no other vet would help.
My beagle puppy came in from outside limping and crying. Her foot was a bit swollen. There have been multiple reports of baby rattle snakes in my neighborhood, so my mind instantly jumped to the conclusion that my crazy pup chased one down and got bit. I called so many vets, balling my eyes out and nobody was willing to see us... I even offered them $500 cash to just look at her foot. When I called surfside, they told me to come down right now and that they were fully booked but would find a way to see us. As soon as we got there, they took us straight back and checked on my pup. Every single staff member was incredibly kind and considerate. The vet; Kimberley Deere, doted on Tiny like she were her own. I am still in tears thinking about how amazing Surfside is. And, they definitely did not charge me anywhere close to $500. Thank you so much Surfide!

I just want to say our latest visit to surfside animal hospital went fantastic management and staff all get a A+ they took great care of my baby Aurora and they kept me informed all along the way thank you all soo very much

This animal hospital was the first place we went to when we moved to California. My dogs are family and I only take them to places I have researched. This place had great reviews. I agree completely the reviews were correct. They have helped my dogs(Copper, Rusty and Captain) through some medical needs. When Copper and then eventually Rusty passed I called them devastated and they were kind, understanding and showed love and compassion to me. They advised me what to do and also offered their services. They offered cremation options. The one I chose for both was they would be sent out to sea and scattered with others who have passed. I felt sort of a comfort knowing they were going to go out to sea. Then they offered a paw print in clay. I have had many dogs in the past and not once has any vet office shown the love and compassion as Surfside Animal Hospital. I wish we would have moved here years ago!

We moved here in August and couldn't be happier with the care our fur baby gets at the Surfside Animal Hospital. She has been here 3 times, and we love it.

We try so hard to not be those crazy dog parents, but having a French bulldog who is prone to so many health issues kind of encourages the crazy to come out once in a while.

We noticed that our doggos ears weren't cleaned to the best of the techs ability and that after our visit his health seemed to deteriorate. We voiced our concerns, started looking at other vets in the area, and decided to come back in for an appointment to see what they could do. The manager Jessica went above and beyond and reassured us that Surfside is the place to count on.

As long as we live in the oceanside area we will call Surfside home.

A good experience for my pittie. In and out. And they were very understanding of the fact my pup couldnt be around other doggies make sure she would be comfortable coming in and leaving.

This place has friendly veterinarian and vet assistants and fair prices! They are transparent with their costs. My cat Lily got a senior wellness exam and teeth cleaning recently. I can't believe my kitty is a senior... but she'll always be my baby @SquishyLilyLoaf (Instagram)

So far my feline friend seems quite happy with her surgery. She also got an ear cleaning. The staff and vet where sweet, attentive, and thorough. Cost for full exam, ear toxicology lab, ear cleaning, spay, meds for pain before during and after surgery, meds for ear infection, nail trim, cone, came out to $527. Given the amount of work and attention provided, especially discharge and aftercare procedures, we are happy with the value and service provided. Peace of mind is priceless, would recommend this hospital.

Extremely helpful and accommodating when other vets were too busy to fit in my emergency. Even though they were busy, they got me in and helped my dog. I'm very thankful for Surfside.

I can’t even describe how grateful I am for Dr. Hilke and staff at Surfside. My shih tzu girl had been throwing up in the mornings and was seen by another vet who did blood tests and everything came back normal. After a few days she got so much worse. I called over 30 vet offices and not a single one could squeeze me in until I called surfside. They listened to the situation and Dr. Hilke was able to squeeze us in. The front desk staff and techs were all so kind and patient with us. Dr. Hilke was thorough and went through possible scenarios and gave us options. She ended up needing surgery the next day..turns out she swallowed one of my socks. Thank you thank you thank you for taking care of my dog even when you were busy. Truly so beyond thankful. I live farther away from this office but would 1000% bring my dog here again. 10/10 recommend.

Surfside Hospital allowed the entire family to have as much time as we needed to say our farewells to our precious angel dog Darla. We could not have been any more comfortable at home. Thank you Surfside for giving us the time to say goodbye.

I go to their groomer which is Classy k9 clips. I've been taking my dog there for almost 7 years, they always do a great job . before and after shots of my dog, Gus Gus

Love the people here,so kind. Unfortunately my cat passed but I know everything was done to save his life. I was called at all stages by the doctor. I went in to settle up the bill, the office staff, especially Evan was so kind. Even followed up with a sweet card. Will definitely go back when I get my next Kitty.

Always clean! Despite how busy this vet is The staff is friendly and caring. I've been taking my animals here for many years. I would recommend anyone taking their furry friends here!
They also opened up an urgent care time too.

I love Surfside Animal Hospital, I have been coming here for a while now! with my two cats. I love the service very clean friendly staff! I've seen quite a few different vets never just stuck to one and every single one of them have been so nice! Brought my cat tots, here, he loves it he feels so comfortable with all the Vets here , lays around Pokes around in the cupboards he just makes himself at home Stratton at stuff around the room. I think that's super important with animals and feeling comfortable with a vet hospital. Thankyou surside

My dog had a Non Anesthetic Dental Cleaning done yesterday and I can't believe how PERFECT her teeth look! She has never had her teeth done before (she's 5) and I never thought they would even be able to do it let alone get it done perfectly!! Not even a speck of anything! Bright White Beautiful teeth!!

I brought Duke (dog) in to have a lump on his abdomen looked at. Despite what looked like a really slammed day for patients, she was very thorough and explained options that were easy to understand. (By the way, the lump was benign!!) Highly recommended!!

Good service and I can usually get an appointment when I need one. Front office staff is very friendly & helpful and the veterenary staff are very caring. I would recommend them.
