The Kon-Tiki

I went to Kon Tiki during Restaurant Week and it was so much fun! The staff love what they do and it shows. Plus the burger hit the spot. Their special was the cheeseburger, fries, and a small Mai Tai for $25.00!! YUM! How fun is THAT!?

This place is so eclectic and fun. Tasty food and fun drinks! Bartender "Kris" knows his craft! Love everything about this place 💖

My first time at This Place! it has such a soothing relaxing vibe I had a great time the food was definitely different also my first time trying different food (10/10!) the alcohol and non-alcohol beverages! (10/10)

The Kon-Tiki is built like an old school tiki joint, but they use nicer ingredients as any new wave place would. Particularly enjoyable Mai Tais as well as a nice mix of originals and classics. Good bar food as well

Had drinks made by Tony, (Mai Tai and Zombie) great knowledge of rum and the drinks he was crafting. We had a good talk about the Mai Tai and let me tell you his was the best I’ve ever had!

The burger reviews are true!! It’s a magically gratifying burger. To spam or not to spam is up to you. It’s a total gift either way. Also gorgeous; strange drinks.

Fire food. Burger legit. And the chips really make sense as far as cutting through that rich good - good. Drinks on point as to be expected. All star team east bay all day.

Staff is cool, the menu has changed since I been gone but they can make all the standard tiki/ exotic drinks and they're really good. New menu is sorta space themed which is cool. Haven't tried the food since the mmenu change but it was good last time I tried it especially the rangoon dip and chicken sandwich

This place has a fun vibe. Definitely a traditional Tiki theme. The drinks were great! The food was good, but if you're not into spicy things, I'd say this may not be your place to eat. The service on a Thursday evening was decent. Our waiter was friendly and came back often to check in.

Good drinks & nice atmosphere. Fries and tofu are good. Chicken sandwich is really good!

Came in the other week and had what I consider the best burger on the East bay. Double cheeseburger add spam... simple but well executed. Also try the fried chicken sandwich, just as good and yes, I asked them to add spam.

Oh yeah, and the drinks were fantastic and strong. Try their mai tai! You won't be disappointed.

It was my first time visiting the place. It is actually quite pleasant! Cozy atmosphere and great food and drinks. Yes, is not the cheapest of bars, we paid over $40 per head (group of 4) and this was for a burger and a drink plus 1 appetizier. Music was good also.

Cool selection of unique tiki cocktails. The spot has a dark, beetlejuice vibe going on which is not what I expected from a tiki place but made the experience even better. I traveled to Oakland for work and I went to Kon-Tiki the 2 nights I was there. The first night I ate a burger (yummy) and the second night I had the mushrooms...TRY THE MUSHROOMS! The drinks I tried were: Princess of Mars and Cosmo Ship Yamato, Crater of Excalvia and Heyerdahl Maneuver.

Solid tropical drinks and underrated food at this local gem. The drinks are great and all, and pretty standard pricing for bars in the area ($15-$20) but the burger, chicken sandwich, and most all menu items I've tried have been stellar. Nice tropical-vibe details like jam on the burger without going over the top with the gimmick. Friendly staff as well.

Would recommend the frozen uma-umas - I think they're the cheapest drink on the menu, and so yummy!

The Kon Tiki is a super chill spot, with great drinks and awesome Bites in downtown Oakland Definitely order The Grilled Mushrooms (appetizer) , Burger FYI flat burger society (served w chips), Chicken Sandwich (served w chips)or Short Ribs (served with Macaroni salad) reminded me of Korean KalBi Yummm My Bestie Amber is having the Kon Tiki Grog I’ll edit and add more details and pics soon.
